He was my favorite captain. I loved his southern accent and friendly to all. I am so sorry. I knew the ship diverted to ft Lauderdale to take him to the hospital but didnt see he passed. I really am sad.
The Harmony was diverted to Cozumel where he was taken to the hospital there. Obviously at some point shortly thereafter they flew him to the States. We were on the Mariner that day and our Captain announced that we volunteered to swap and dock at the downtown pier because the Harmony needed a bigger berth to come in for a medical emergency.
We later found out it was for Captain James…..😢😢

To verify how the carry-on is practically achieved, would you just carry the drinks on, or should they be in some form of bag?
For example, if I want to bring 12 x 500mL bottles (16.9 oz) of pop/soda on a ship, is it generally acceptable to just carry them openly by the plastic ring holder*, or should I plan to have a bag of some sort? Or does it not matter?
(*This assumes plastic ring holders are allowed as well, I could envision there may be a rule I don't know about for oceangoing vessels that don't allow these, which would be a separate question. To preempt the environmental/wildlife discussion, I cut these into smaller pieces before discarding and the pop/soda is sold with them anyway, but I fully understand if there were a rule against them the cruise line wouldn't care about how I handle them).
You can carry them on anyway you choose either in their own bag or carrying them openly. Just know you will be lugging this all around with you until the rooms are ready around 1pm…- 1

When outside and facing the terminal door there are restrooms to your right. Also restrooms inside the terminal and as soon as you step onboard restrooms are near the elevators…

Yes she can check in with you but she will not share any of your benefits onboard….

They were on excursions or just got back to the ship late?
I have no idea if they were on a private excursion or just late. All I know is they were standing on the dock as the ship sailed without them.
In one case the couple was on another ship that was docked next to ours and that ship jad
been gone at least 20min before they showed up!!!

This rarely happens. There are plenty of good, reputable 3rd party tour agencies that will ensure you're back in plenty of time.
Happens more than you know. We have seen it happen 3 times and it is not a pretty sight… -

While I agree that it’s a good idea to print the set sails (we don’t but I do screenshot them)
we breeze right through with my my set sail passes in my Apple wallet on my phone.
But I have seen others scrolling the phone 😁
I agree!! We also keep ours in our Apple wallet too. We always seem to get in line behind a family with multiple members and only one person has all their Set Sail passes…..😂😂😂- 1

OK, we got in with our new passwords, and now it's time to check the set sail pass.
Mrs. Caver can only view and print our daughter's set sail pass when she clicks on hers. Same when she clicks on mine.
Yours truly can see my own set sail, but when I try to see Mrs. Caver's or our daughter's, they both appear as me. My set sail for all three of us, in other words.
OK, so daughter's shows all three correctly.
And wife is the one who booked all three of us, and the cabin is in her name.
When we get to the terminal, we can hand them all three phones and shuffle them under a set of Red Solo Cups. See if we get on the ship.
To me it’s easier to see/pr t my Set Sail pass and luggage tags from the website.
We always print our Set Sail pass and breeze right through check in while others are still scrolling on their phones…😎😎

We used to stay very near the port but the price of hotel rooms in that area have gone insane!! Since we drive from the Atlanta area we started staying in Titusville. Much better rates and only 20min to the port via a leisurely drive on US 1….

Perfect example of RCL talking out of their a$$... She told me noon 🙄 I even asked to confirm that it wasn't midnight.
And that time is for the time zone of the port you are sailing from so if you live in an earlier time zone you won’t have to wait until midnight…😁😁

We have some friends that we occasionally sail with but we prefer cruises where it’s just the two of us.
We call our style of cruising “love ‘em and leave ‘em”. We love meeting people and having short chats but then we can walk away and do our own thing and not feel guilty….
I am so glad to see we are not the only ones…..😂😂

Will they give me the new price. I gave them 500 deposit. The cruise is in mid October.
about a month ago I called and got a $560 price drop on my October 10th cruise!!!😎😎😎 -
My current password had the first letter capitalized so when the app wanted me to do a new password I just used the same one but made the first letter lower case and it worked just fine….😎😎
no new password to remember (except for the lower case first letter)

We would like to spend the day at a beach resort in Cozumel for the day. We are in our 70,s so we would prefer not being around a lot of children. Looking for a beach resort that offers buffet, drinks, transportation back & forth from the cruise port. Very safe conditions.
I read reviews on Playa Mia Resort, they were not great. Would like more information on other resorts.
we are the same age and we prefer Nachi Cocom. They only take 130 people so usually very nice and quiet. They have a nice pool, good food, good service and is very clean.they do not provide transportation but it is about a 15min taxi ride from the port…

I have a 12:00 arrival time. Are they strict about not arriving early? We have a mini suite, so our only perk is priority boarding. Also, will we be able to drop our bags off in a mini suite or do we have to wait until all rooms are ready? Thanks
you can board early because you are in a suite.
you cannot access your room until 1pm

We are thinking about using either Park Port Canaveral or Port Canaveral Parking. Has anyone used either one recently?
Right now Park Port Canaveral is having a 50% off sale when using code FLASH! (be sure to include the exclamation point). We have used them several times with no issues..www.parkportcanaveral.com

I was looking at their website because I have an upcoming cruise at Port Canaveral. I don't like the way they count days. My cruise begins on a Monday and ends on a Friday. That's a 4 night cruise and parking at the port would charge 4 days at whatever rate. This offsite lot wants to charge for 5 days even though it's just 4 24-hour periods/4 nights. And then they add a $7.50 Port Canaveral entry fee and sales tax. Yes, it's still cheaper than parking at the Port but not as much as it should be if they counted days the same way.
I think I'll just park at the port.
parking at Port Canaveral is charged the same way.
You are charged for the day you enter AND the day you leave. So for a 4 night cruise you will be paying for 5 days. And they they started charging extra taxes and fees. A 7 night cruise used to cost me $136 (8 days x $17). Now the total is almost $150!!!
Been this way for years….

We put each dress item in its own dry cleaning bag. I’ve saved them for years for this purpose but I think if you went to a dry cleaners they’d sell you some. We use a “cruiser suitcase” where the clothes stay on the hangers and fold in the middle. We don’t have to send anything out. Steam in the shower helps if needed. Otherwise we go wrinkled.
this is exactly what I do and I never have any wrinkles!!! -

We are back from a great cruise on the Adventure. Was home 3 days when the Wife came down with a very bad cough and Cold symptoms. Self test said Covid but who knows. Just a reminder to wash hands pre, during and past cruise ...we want everyone safe and healthy
I came home with covid from my cruise in January. My sisters, who are both vaccinated and boosted, came down with it from a church event so sadly it is every where.I gave covid 2yrs of my life and will not give it anymore. Especially for something that seems to be no more than a bad sinus infection.
I hope your wife feels better soon and that this will not change your love of cruising…

Another vote for Titusville!
Prices in Cape Canaveral have gotten ridiculous so since we drive we stop in Titusville and stay at Hyatt Place. It is located on US 1 so on cruise day we just drive straight down to Hwy 528. Takes less than 30 min….
