Leaving on the Emerald Princess a week from tomorrow. Thinking about getting to cruise terminal around 10:30 am. Heard boarding starts around 11 am but cabins are not available until around 1 pm. Is it possible to take carryon bags to cabin when you board or do you have to keep them with you until cabin is ready?

We do this when they don't have fire doors closed.

But,  Wait.... There's more!!!!     If you wanna risk a $99. deposit...  There is the 3 Day Sale!

I have contacted a TA from that agency, and will be ready to hit BOOK if we decide.   If it is a 10 day, then that should be $300. per person in OBC.

Yes, but are you paying $300 more for the "sale", cause that's how sales usually work.

Is a 1250 flight out of Fort Lauderdale doable?  How does luggage from ship to home work on Southwest?

Yeah, easily.  You could walk to the airport with that much time.

Any recent experience bringing liquor on at embarkation?  Not talking about “sneaking” or rum runners for on-board consumption, but rather whether they will take and store liquor presented for inspection like in ports of call.  We’ll be in Athens for a few days pre-cruise and just curious if it’s an option or if it will get tossed.

They will take it and hold it if they bother to check for it in whatever luggage you provide.

While the noodle bar is a huge hit,  I wouldn't be too concerned about the one restaurant, Harmony.

The bigger concern is what will they do regarding the Hollywood area.

Maybe a last minute announcement, a-la SUN Princess, about the NEW SANCTUARY CLUB CLASS.

Another ship without an Adult Area.

    Just Sayin'

    Yep, staying off those myself.

  6. Since they don't seem to check what liquids you have, I'm surprised more people don't bring beer/wine/liquor in their carry on's.  All the various cans/bottles of water and soft drinks I bring on could easily have alcohol in them, but they never check or question it.

Bottles are not allowed on Princess, only sealed cans.
See the multiple posts including the quote: Guests are also prohibited from bringing water, sodas and other non- alcoholic beverages on board that are packaged in bottles.

As I stated, "our experience".  Saw many bottles of soft drinks and water not from Princess on the ships.  Even princess has bottles they bring onboard.

Sailing from Ft. Lauderdale and want to know how much soda can be brought onboard. It used to be 12 cans. Does that mean  2 - 12 can boxes if two are traveling?

Our experience is bring all you want.  We typically take 2-4 6 pack of plastic bottled of coke zero or 7up zero.

  9. Sounds to me like some of you need to be karening to Princess for selling you a ship you do not have access to for your kids and grandkids.

Pretty inexcusable to me since they are selling it as a family friendly feature, yet it's not available.

  10. I would be furious if  I booked a ship that had this new kids area for my kids or grandkids only to find out that even a couple of months after it's inaugural sailing, the kids area is still not open. Seems like false advertising to me.

It is indeed included in base fare on deck 9 but not on lido, very odd

Man, Princess really is turning into other cruise lines.  It's a shame.

Oh well, until they modify the older ships,  we still have those.   I hope they get tons of negative feedback on these new ships and realize their loyal customers do not want carnival or royal caribbean

Great idea!  If they allow you to bring food OB.  From US ports usually only pre packaged food is permitted.  Would be up to customs that day. 🥴

We bring food on all the time, never even questioned.
