  1. If they would only "enhance" the package to do a "staggered" liquor package like they've done in the ports with check-ins, I would consider cheers. I don't drink heavily enough to make the package as it is worth it. Set a $20 package with 5 alcoholic drinks a day... or better yet a total of 5 per day times the number of days you are on your cruise.

Example: $20 per day for a 5 day cruise would give you a total of 25 drinks to consume for the cruise... only 3 drinks on a port day? Have 7 on a sea day! Have all 25 drinks your first three days? Pay for the rest of the drinks you want the last two days... Almost too simple to make sense, right?

Never happen. While most of the discussion is about the 15 drink limit the reality is most never make it to that point. What Carnival advertises as the maximum and the actual pricing they base of true consumption are different things. I wouldn't be surprised if the pricing is based on what averages out to be 7-8 drinks per day per paying customer.

  2. HAHA....nothing has changed I guess. I used them in '12 when I asked for reviews and had pretty much the same experience. Took forever getting a shuttle there and forever getting picked up at the end of the cruise. I have been using the The Parking Doctors since and can't think of a bad thing to say about them.

  3. Once we were checking in, we had to sign the form stating if something happened, we understood that we could not fly back into the U.S. without passports.

If it was truly worded that way it was not true. Obviously you can't just stroll to the ticket counter and buy a plane ticket but there is a process. The port agent will get you to the consolutate and they can get you the appropriate paperwork.

  4. Strange how things change over time. At one point we tipped everyone personally at the end of the cruise, now the cruise lines have combined everything into one charge such as the DSC that gets distributed to those who serve you. People are now paying the charge and are somehow guilted into thinking they must tip on top of it.

It is the same thing....the DSC took the place of personal tips. I pay the DSC and am done with it.

  5. They are just making it all inclusive. The same rationale could be made with food and all the other amenities that are already included that you may or may not use.

Yup. I would love to have a more all inclusive cruise option similar to land based resorts. There are countless things I see people do on a cruise ship I have no interest in that I am 'subsidizing'.

  6. This is really getting out of hand. Soon people will be saying just drop $1's like rose petals for every worker you see.

Yes, I always tip the porters a couple of bucks. However, to give some large tip to someone who will spend less than a minute with your bags is unnecessary especially considering they are already a $20/hr employee. They pick up your bag and put it into a bin....that is it. Everything else is handled by other people.

  7. I have the same one, I just use string. Take a length and weave it through the holes at the top of the organizer, make the ends long enough so you can go around the door and tie it on the backside. You then need two short pieces, tie one end to the holes on the organizer and the other will go over the top of the door and tie to the other string that is tied behind the door. It fits perfect and is adjustable for any size door so you don't need hooks, the string is thin enough that it doesn't keep the door from closing.

  8. Is Norwegian Cruise Line now charging for room service?

Norwegian Cruise Line has introduced an enhanced room service menu. The new menu offers an expanded selection for breakfast, in addition to a wider variety of options available 24 hours. Individual items on the menu remain available on a complimentary basis and a convenience charge of up to $7.95 will be added to each order placed (Morning coffee, continental breakfast and orders placed by guests sailing in The Haven will not attract a charge)*. Room service is one of up to 29 dining options offered across the fleet, and guests continue to be able to enjoy a wide array of complimentary choices onboard 24 hours a day.

    *Prices subject to change.

  9. I am not very excited about this. One of the reasons I really enjoy cruising is because it gives me a certain level of control over the entire vacation budget with no surprises. The majority of my food, travel, drinks and entertainment is covered and other expenditures will be limited. I think with NCL's new trend it will bring more concerns about budget management while on board, instead of relaxing and enjoying things there will be more worry about what we have already spent and how much more can we afford.

  10. Hmmmmm....not sure how I feel about this. I have always enjoyed the included room service and tipped the server for my order. I think I paid for the 'service' with my fare, I am certainly sure it isn't going to the servers.
