  1. We took taxis twice in cozumel and had no trouble at all.

If you like the beach, see if Nachi Cocom has spots open-- we LOVED it last time and cant wait to go again.

  2. So just booked cruise and will probably go to nachi cocom; we were watching our videos from last time and we were complaining about how hot the sand was-- and that was at the end of june.

Any comments? Has anyone been to cozumel at the end of july and can remember if the heat was unbearable?

Thanks. Going anyway. Just want to be prepared.

  3. Im brand new to cpap world: discovered sleep apnea by mistake kinda -- went to doc for one thing and he decided I have sleep apnea and sent me for a study: female, small neck, no snoring= SEVERE sleep apnea!

    Who knew?!

So I do or dont need an adapter for my cpap?

  4. Yes, i asked if we wanted to do 5 in a suite again because last time it honestly wasn't bad.... Especially given the balcony and a half, that was like another room almost.

I was overruled by the teens and the husband lol. I will inquire about it... Calling carnival in a second.

    Thanks.

We have done two cruises with 5 in a suite. (Fantasy and i think Triumph)

  5. 15k on your cabin, or others as well?

The fantasy was 5 in a grand suite. One room paid, IIRC something like 4k

The 7 night mexico i also believe was 5 in a suite. One room, 5 people 7 day cruise: about 5k IIRC

The 7 night florida an Bahamas was DH and I in a balcony so say what 3k.

Kids in room across hall, so i guess that one doesnt count.

In process of booking a 5 day elation, so dh and i will be in a suite: 2k

Kids in room across hall: doesnt count.

So, yes, for rooms i have been in, i will be at a total of around 14k and for that i get red level.

Im guessing at amounts, seriously not going to dig out paperwork... 3 suites (5 people, 5 people, 2 people) and 1 balcony.

  6. Hi all. Its been a while: we are looking to make a quick run 5 day in July out of New Orleans on the Elation.

We are balcony snobs and so will need to book a suite plus an interior room for 3 teens.

We had a grand suite on the fantasy and we all 5 slept in there but since the teens are big and tall now, they will have to have their own room.

Looks like my choice is deck 6 (deck 11 sold out, so i guess that was the better deck?) and a suite or a grand suite. So is the regular suite more like a regular balcony?

And what about deck 6? Good, bad, indifferent?

    Thanks for any help.

Does the elation have a water slide?

Im excited to be on a fantasy class ship again-- fantasy was our first and favorite carnival ship.

  7. Wow... were we in the same Progreso? I thought it was a lovely place... not glitzy and commercial like Cozumel or Grand Cayman but friendly and tropical.

    The beach is gorgeous...

and security was never an issue...

Progreso is one of my favorite ports of call... I'd go there at the drop of a hat and that hat will drop in February...

    :)

Mach, if you see this... Where exactly is this beach? I remember the beach in Progreso as brown and ikky.

Ill have to check my own signature--maybe it was december? Maybe that makes a difference?

  8. Roatan is a developing nation, so you have to be concerned with safety (zip line, for example... Make sure it is a double line), food, etc. to me that limits you to established companies like Victor Bodden or going to an all inclusive report such as Mayan Princess.

  9. I generally don't drink because it triggers my RLS. I don't have a problem on cruises in terms of drunks... Some of them are entertaining, some I feel sorry for. I don't tend to look for them... They don't impact my cruise at all.

There is plenty to do on the ship without alcohol... Alcohol is certainly not needed. Friends of Bill usually meets in the library.

I don't see why people get off the ship at the ports and walk down to the first bar and get drunk-- makes no sense to me, but I'm not on their vacation. I'd rather go see the island.

You will see people on the last morning before getting off who are wearing dark sunglasses, etc. They look worn out and tired. Again, that is them. I personally like to leave the ship feeling refreshed.

  10. If you have gluten intolerance or Celiac's then the whole grains will be making you worse!!! A LOT worse!! I have heard you can freeze the fish oil and take it while frozen which eliminates the fish burps.

Good luck to you. Find out what the Celiac panel indicated...
