  1. Sorry it started out on sour note but I understand your disappointments. I would be too. It is a little thing that makes all the difference. I am hoping the situation improves as it continues.
  2. On United from SFO to Amsterdam RT this May is $4500 for us. We needed two seats and used miles for one seat.
  3. It is what we paid. Always booked through the airlines and its RT from SFO or LAX depending on whichever is cheaper to Asia.
  4. We fly annually to Japan on business class, our 2/2023 flight via ANA was around $4300. Going the other way, this year via United (no ANA to Amsterdam from USA) to Amsterdam close to that amount.
  5. Yes, that does not seem possible. For business class to Asia, it is normally from $4300 and up. It has been this way since early last year on most part.
  6. That is terrible. How many to a table? Mr. or Ms Know It All are one of the worst kind of table mates.
  7. Don’t know about the ship side, but there are coin lockers in Osanbashi you can store your luggage. These lockers are found in major train stations and terminals including cruise terminals. I would definitely use the extra time to explore Yokohama if you can.
  8. Thanks everyone for sharing your own experience with ordering.
  9. Ohh, that is good to know.
  10. Oh no! I no longer like full bodied red wines like Cabs or sweeter white wines like Riesling and most Chardonnay from California except few. Did you return yours?
  11. Thank you. Good to know there may be special sale during the cruise. On the app, it is under Gifts and Gear, then Special Occasion for our cruise in May. We always travel with our padded wine bag that holds two bottles and cork opener, haha - a die hard wine person that I am. That bag is well traveled! I like La Crema Pinot Noir in Sonoma and cheapest one through the winery depending on specific region grapes are grown and vintage is about $23 and goes up to about $100. On the app it is showing $48.99 and I am ok with that price knowing it will be the cheapest $23 found here.
  12. On Celebrity app, there is a wine showing I normally like. Will they deliver this to our stateroom before the cruise to our cabin for our consumption during the cruise? Or at least during the day of our embarkation? Not interested in taking this home as I can easily get this at home. We are bringing two better wines all the way to Amsterdam but the one wine on app is ok once our two bottles are gone.
  13. Yes, you to have to plan ahead. We spend a month annually in Japan for the last 20+ years with a base in Tokyo and doing many trips across Japan via shinkansen or special interest trains. We normally travel with small rollers each and backpack making easy to maneuver in crowded situations. The small rollers are not too heavy and my husband can place them overhead. We have seen tourists in contorted positions with their big suitcases between legs.
  14. How much luggage do you have on shinkansen from Kyoto station to Shin Yokohama station? Luggage concerns are important in Japan. You need to plan ahead.
  15. To make it easier for your self, get a hotel in Yokohama for sure.
  16. No, they will not do that. Best to get separate cabs. These cabs are not big and trunk space accommodate 2 large luggages and one smaller.
  17. Thank you all for the input. I think we will stay with our current cabin choice as Aqua cabin available now is fore and under all the activities above.
  18. Haha, we don’t expect much tor burgers so we should be ok with their burgers esp outside like on a ship. I have read that Blu food selection may be more limiting as you mentioned. The cabin location we have looks great. Thank you.
  19. Yes, but it is the location Aqua cabins that concern us. Our current cabin is a perfect location for us.
  20. Right now we are booked in prime concierge with bump out balcony and our cruise is in May. I like the location of our cabin on deck 10 mid ship between decks with all cabins on Silhouette. This is before final payment date. I chose this cruise due to ports and time of this cruise without comparing too many things. It was a toss up between Scandinavia and Viking river cruise. I should have checked the menus more. But now that I checked food choices on Celebrity, I am not sure we will be satisfied with food choices in MDR. We tend to eat mostly globally inspired foods esp seafood. I like to cook a lot and we eat quite well at home. My husband does like good quality steaks and burgers sometimes though. For example, I do not see any calamari, mussels, octopus etc on MDR menu items but do see them on Blue. Also, we do not like buffets in general and try to avoid them. But, I am not sure about the cabins in Aqua class. They are mostly in deck 11 under pool deck and concerned with noise level, but Blue menu is more to our taste. The price difference is negligile at this point. What is your opinion on this? I am also going for move up in suite selection if offered due to Luminae menu selection. i appreciate all thoughts on this.
  21. Mine also shows the same price for May cruise so I am thinking this is a typical pricing. I am going to wait.
  22. We are cruising 5/24 and classic is showing $57.99 and premium at $69.99 with 20% off. Are these good prices for Celebrity? We were considering going without packages since my husband drinks only beer and bringing two hard to find and pricy wines given to us by a friend, but after looking at the whole picture of our drinking habits we are thinking that drink packages make more sense. The difference between premium and classic is just over $10 a day on our cruise, and because none of the classic selection wines or other beverages are to my taste, I am thinking premium is a better choice for us. My husband would have been ok with classic but he can certainly drink higher cost beer gladly.
  23. Thanks everyone. Our cruise is 5/24/24, best of Scandinavia. Very small price drop.
  24. What do you mean by just rebooked again? When calling in when price drops before the final payment, do you have to go through rebooking again? Do you lose the cabin already chosen? I have to call tomorrow during the day to ask about a charge showing up on our credit card statement that I do no recognize from Celebrity and at the same time was going to ask about very small price drop showing now. But, I don’t necessarily want to rebook and possibly lose the cabin of my choosing.
  25. Ugh! I do not like to see shirtless people in dining areas.
