  1. Exactly! The end of SM is a way to increase prices and profits. We certainly did not complain about the included benefits of SM but understand they do not suit some. On a lighter note, we have been cruising with Oceania since 2007 when drinks, excursions and internet were extra. Passengers would stock their stateroom with a supply of their favourite alcoholic beverage and search out bottle shops in port to restock on a long voyage. On the evenings of Oceania cocktail parties, it was common to see people heading to dinner with a full glass of wine so they did not need to purchase another with their meal. And then there was the passenger who thought he could beat the system by taking his bottle of gifted Oceania wine to dinner and pay no corkage and then take it back to his stateroom nearly empty, refill it and take it again the next night! We love Oceania but will probably look at other cruise lines in the future.
  2. Look forward to meeting you. A great itinerary.
  3. We embark in Tokyo on April 1 so sadly will miss you. We will spend 2 nights in Tokyo pre cruise so perhaps our Pandaw group could have a reunion.
  4. Thank you for your excellent review. We have booked this itinerary on Riviera for next year. Regarding the Oceania tours, are there any you would recommend? We will be booking some Oceania and some private.
  5. We were also on this cruise and the previous leg. The cruise from Reykjavik to Oslo was different from any other of our many Oceania cruises in terms of passengers. Some left their manners behind, for many the dress code was not country club casual and bus tours were a cough fest with few sick passengers wearing a mask to stop the spread of germs. I commented to management that a note could be put in Currents advising the wearing of masks on bus tours if you have a cough.
  6. I agree with you. Our first Oceania cruise was in 2007 and we have kept every book. I am not happy with the direction Oceania is going - no more booklets, luggage tags pier side, reduced times in some ports and the cost of tours for South American ports has increased by 50% between 2020 and 2024.
