Wow, this is all so confusing isn’t it?
I also received the 6 tests that have an expiration date of 10-5-21, so I’m assuming they’re good until 1-5-21 same as others. Although, as others, our test kit doesn’t have a letter after the lot number.I also see I can do it on my iPad which is the easiest for us as we have the NAVICA app on that as well as the phone.
Question - when I do the test on the app from my IPad, will the QR code work on my phone so I can show that at checkin for the cruise? I know some of you have already done it so hoping you can answer that last question for me. Thanks.
Print out your test results, and show the printout(s) at the port. You don't have to fiddle with any device or email or screenshots that way. 🙂

can you order just 1 or 2 tests. I don't want to order 6. Who know the rules might change again
Order the tests from Optum, versus eMed.

The test for kids before showing up at the US ports still applies for cruises as of Sept 13th. Link: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/will-i-have-to-take-a-test-before-i-cruise#united-states-nassau

Thank you, Yes and I will. As I said, I am old school and a pen and paper person.
I am printing out my family's results to hold the paper in my hand... and I am a techie! I expect my brain to be pretty frazzled at check in, so anything making on-boarding easier sounds good to me!😄

Can I get both my husbands results and my results sent to my cell phone? He doesn't have app ability on his. Also is the proctoring done through zoom and if so can it be through your computer? These technology requirements are challenging for us old paper and pencil folks.
You could also print out the results for one or both of you and carry that paper, if that would be a comfort.

I just went to order mine, but it wants to know the name of every person who will take the test. I only need four for our upcoming cruise, don't know who will use the other two. Can they be transferred later?
When ordering, they need a name for the prescription. When you take the test, the Navica application needs to know the test takers name to issue the proof documents.
Two completely separate things. 🙂 Different sets of names are fine.

If it involves technology, I’m out. My husband and I both are technology illiterate. Anytime something involves computer, video etc, no matter how “easy” someone says it is, we are not successful.I’m sure there is other elderly travelers that feel the same way.
We we’re looking forward to the cruise but we don’t feel comfortable with Walgreens getting results back to us in time, two days is not enough time in case Walgreens doesn’t come through. I’m telling my husband today that I’m not willing to go through the stress.Review this video before you pull out of cruising, please?

I haven't used mine yet, but when I ordered them, I had to list the people who would be using it. So I believe anyone you list at order time could use them, but can't confirm that yet.
Ordering names are separate from the profiles set up in the application. Ordering needs prescriptions to dispense the tests, while the app needs names for who goes on the proof documents. 🙂

You won't have time to make that alteration, usually. No one requires the change, but you may be out the upgrade cost if you didn't build it into your coverage (and then can't take the cruise.)

When you purchase from eMed they ask for the names of all participants.
eMed asking for that information has no bearing on the usage of the tests. You have sets of 6 tests and enter 3 names in eMed, for example. eMed creates the prescription that authorizes the PURCHASE of the tests, which is separate from the test results being sent to the test taker.
Accounts with people names are set up in the application (Navica). 6 different people can be registered to use your 6 tests.

Once again, another Friday email sent to someone without a change on the website. How many of these have not come true???

Good point, looks like $70 for 2, $100 for 3. Guess I'll have to bundle with my family to get the 3-pack for $100. Still better for us than $150 for 6... 3 of which we wouldn't use.
Use your flexible spending card to purchase the tests; IRS says it is a reimbursable test.

Straight forward video of each step.

After watching the video on their website, I now understand how to complete the test and interpret the results.
I just don't understand how the test produces anything that can be used to provide the proof that is required to board a ship.
Surely a person is not expected to take the test card with them to show to the boarding personnel.
You see the bit about setting up an account in their app, right? The card gets thrown away, and you keep the proof statement registered in the app. 🙂

Does anyone know.. With Walgreens, their rapid test is called "rapid diagnostic test (ID Now)". Is that an acceptable test for royal? Their faq just says pcr or rapid antigen but no idea if ID now is considered that..
Is ID Now the Abbott (brand name) PCR NAAT test?
Walgreens link: https://www.walgreens.com/topic/promotion/covid-testing.jsp?ban=covidfy21_newtestingpg_brandstory_main_081521

Yes, of course. I stated that in my original post. It’s still a picture of a document and not the actual document. I just want to make sure they won’t give me a hard time about it.
Print it as a PDF, email the PDF to yourself, and print out a few copies.
Whatever you need to feel more comfortable. I get texts and web pages of my local test COVID test results.

You can take an excursion via your cruiseline that drops you off at the airport afterwards.
Grab a rental car and/or a day pass at a resort. Go to fancy brunch somewhere.
Hit up the museums.

The fares were comparable to what we would spend on fuel/tolls/food stops/ and having to drive that distance. We have done the drive many times for cruises out of Miami , so we just wanted to try something different.Flying on Silver Airways was also an option but my wife is not a fan of the smaller planes, price wise it was very close.
May I ask what the taxi cost is from the train station to the Port is estimated to be? And then how much waiting between getting off the ship to the train leaving? Thanks in advance!

Can you get caffeine free Diet Coke outside of the fancy pants Coke machines? Diet Coke, no prob... caffeine free Diet Coke, though?
-
Your friends and family can contact the ship by calling (888) 724-7447. Or from outside the U.S. they can call (321) 953-9003

I have teh same issue for our NYE cruise. My daughter turns 12 on 12/1 and our cruise is 12/26...I am hoping and praying that the vaccine roll out happens at the end of September for the 5-11 age group!!! I want to cruise on NYE!! I think they should make the policy for 12 year 6 week olds...not just a blanket 12 year old. They should take in account the actual birthday and the cruise date.
Not an option... this is a rule imposed on RCI by other governments. 😞
