Another 'handy' site for vaccinations worldwide. Need only to sign in with e-mail (yea, you'll probably get Blomberg junk mail which you can probably block in the future). An FYI only if interested in getting the world into the 75% herd immunity threshold:

We did our own thing several years ago out of BA prior to a Veendam Antarctic cruise.
Prior to embarkation of the actual cruise we flew down to BA days prior to embarkation, stayed at a B&B for 4 nights, flew up to Igauzu via Aerolinas (different local airport versus the international much further away from the city) and stayed at the Secret Garden B&B for 3 nights (I don’t know if they’re still in business) and then returned to BA for another 2 nights in BA at the original B&B.
I made the arrangements on the net at the time with considerable savings (and still do these days) and we had a blast.
Whether you do it yourself or use HAL or other tour operator the Falls are jaw- dropping and will be well worth the adventure regardless of time frame.
At the Falls, we did the waterfall boat, ATV, hikes and train if I recall. And yes, you’ll get wet.
Having a sunset drink at the “old” Sheraton is great. And if spending a night or three in the area check out the local eateries versus the hotel / tourist traps for good eats.
Have fun and be well!

Real Money’s Jonathan Heller laid it out today: ‘With 1Billion shares at about $22/sh. today, CCL’s Market Value is $24/Billion, and debt $27/Billion.’ Enterprise Value $41/Billion?? Sumpthin’ don’t add up.’

Are you willing to inform us--do you know--why you were unable to sell those shares?
The Amsterdam Wi-Fi was iffy (we floated about for a week) at best and, well to be honest, my first go at logging on to Ameritrade caused problems. It was an old day trader account.
To be honest, there were so many other things going on (getting AL tickets out of Perth, packing & such to get out of OZ prior to the official 'lockdown' ) that a $2.2 K investment sort of went on the "back burner". at the time.

I'm not a Wall Street investment wizard by any means. I was unable to dump our 100 shares of CCL stock back in March (on the '20 WC when I first heard of the pandemic and repercussions) that we've had and have enjoyed for years since purchase in the late '90's ('96-97?, I can't remember).
We've used the stock ownership for OBC's (and dividends) for years on HAL, Princess, Cunard and Seabourne like others on this board with no problems.
However, with all the Covid stuff, and lack of sailings I dumped the stock this past December for pretty much what I paid for it back in the 90's. No gain, no pain but lots of OBC's and good dividends over the years.
If I become convinced that CCL will surely survive I'd be happy to purchase back the 100 shares and enjoy the perks. Until then I'm just "hanging out" like most folks.
BTW. we have a couple of cruises booked for 2022 using FCC's leftover from the '20 WC (we did the 50/50 refund & FCC thingy).
We'll see how it all shakes out. I'm optimistic but also a realist.
be well.

I enjoy the optimism. It’s always pleasant to see with HAL folks & other cruise line roll calls, dare I say, cheer leaders.
The current “science”, regardless of the worldwide proclamations, expanded upon by our “leaders”, gives me, for one, pause.
My guess / crystal ball speculation see’s 2022 at best for a reoriented health-wise cruising (perhaps short ‘bubble cruises’ prior would keep some folks happy). This is a very, very optimistic speculation.
Whether the cruise lines can support their ‘finances’ until launching a ship or two, regardless of embarkation point, remains to be seen.Without further ‘real time’ good / positive news I’d certainly be hesitant to make any sort of deposit on a upcoming cruise. JMHO.
Please remain to be well.

2nd quarter 2022 for, perhaps, longer cruises depending on worldwide vaccinations, the effectiveness of the aforementioned vaccines available & worldwide “leaders” making pragmatic decisions. No guarantee there IMHO.
Be well. Enjoy the ‘now’.

Being a five star mariner on HAL, I have decided to try Cunard next August. Hope there will be some normalcy by then. Who knows. Being that this was my first cruise on Cunard, my TA informed me she used our Princess platinum member numbers for our cunard booking. This give us priority embarkation, 2hours of free internet, wine tasting etc. This was a nice surprise. Especially the priority embarkation. Just thought I would share. Don't know of other Carnival brands that do this.
To address your original post, give it a go and enjoy. And yes, all Carnival brands have similar marketing “goodies” .Please let us know how it works for you.
Be well & happy holidays!

Update: the passenger with the positive test tested again and turned out to be negative.
""(3:45 p.m. EST; updated 11:30 a.m. EST) -- Royal Caribbean's only ship now currently in service, Quantum of the Seas, has returned to Singapore after a potential COVID-19 case, with most passengers being allowed to disembark.
The Singapore Ministry of Health said that the passenger who initially tested positive onboard, an 83-year-old man from Singapore, had reported to the ship's medical center with diarrhea. As part of the protocols, he was given a PCR test onboard, which came back positive. He was immediately put into isolation and contact tracing went into effect.
Since the ship returned to Singapore, the original sample has been re-tested at the country's National Public Health Laboratory (NPHL), and has come back negative for COVID-19, the Minstry said. A second fresh sample tested by NPHL has also come back negative. NPHL will conduct another test tomorrow to confirm his COVID-19 status."
Be well.

We did a QE2 crossing May 2019 to avoid flying and, well, to try it out (it's always been on our "bucket list"). Then we flew over to Amsterdam for a few days and embarked on the Prinsendam's last month in the HAL fleet doing a circle the UK and Norwegian B2B cruises.
We actually like the 'change of pace' although the formal every other night and then a sport coat otherwise in the main dining room wasn't as bad as I expected. For folks that don't care for formal dress they do have a Lido of sorts (I can't recall the name) that only informal wear (no shorts, after 6 I think).
The planetarium was a blast, lots of informative lecture and the best library I've ever seen on a cruise ship. It just so happened that the particular cruise was filled with WW2 veterans doing the crossing for D-Day ceremonies and they had 2-3 hours worth of lectures daily with WW2 military experiences, D-Day presentations, etc. They were great. Shows were okay and if you like to dance, well, the QE2 is just for you.
Would I do again? Perhaps. I thought the ship was beautiful, the staff friendly and the food similar to HAL IMHO. BTW, the Pub & specialty dinners were great.
Be well & Happy Holidays!

As mentioned, usually there’s
great theme nights, more sea days, more PC options (Sommelier dinners visiting chefs dinners, etc.) & opportunities to enjoy lectures & entertainment venues that in recent years, or so, has not been available on shorter itineraries due to ‘cutbacks’, And, so it goes. ...
Enjoy!
Be well & Happy Holidays.

We got an incredible "Casino Fare" rate for Alaska Cruises in May. Like $899 for a Neptune Suite w/ a $200 credit!
Should I book it?
I actually got mixed response's from people in the know about perhaps waiting to see.
Carnival Corporation is apparently bleeding through cash and there was talk among some insiders that if they go bankrupt, we may all be holding the bag.
Any thoughts out there from Cruise Critic Holland America lovers, like us?
I wouldn’t revise your packing list for the aforementioned May cruise IMHO.
CCL’s future financial viability has been the ‘Elephant in the Room’ for some time now regarding CC non-discussions. Me thinks it’s just the attitudes of hopeful posters.
Gosh, I hope I’m so wrong in regard to the consolidation & disappearance of, perhaps, HAL and other lines. We’ll see within the next 16 months or so how it “all shakes out”.
Lot’s of chatter regarding vaccinations but there’s plenty of realistic obstacles (logistical & medical) to be dealt with prior to ‘normal’ embarkations & enjoying cruising once again.
On a more positive note, may your Holiday Season be memorable for enjoying family, friends & future planning.Be well.

This will be a way of doing it as anything that you would actually bring with you could always have been forged.
Regarding the link....I went to it but then all kinds of ads popped up all over it so I wasn't able to scroll/read it, never mind my laptop got all "hot and bothered" just being on that page for less than 30 seconds. I hate those websites that do that...

Just ‘food’ for thought.
2 -3 nights St. Maarten upon arrival, # 2 BTB Star Clipper Line Leeward & Treasure cruises (14 days total) and then a 7 day HAL cruise followed by a disembark port for 2-4 days prior to flying back home?
Heck, make it happen, no?
