Will there be one "formal" night?

We are flying into FLL and cruising out of FLL. My son is trying to surprise his wife with the cruise and saying we are going to the beach. Flying in the night before. How far is the airport-beach-port? Best transportation a taxi?

We are flying into FLL and cruising out of FLL. My son is trying to surprise his wife with the cruise and telling her we are going to the beach only. We will be flying in the night before. Any suggestions on a hotel on the beach near the port and what the best transportation would be best? If it wasn't a surprise I would choose to stay at the airport and only need a shuttle to port. It's her first cruise and two of their three children.

I surprised my niece with the Magic. She didn't know till we pulled up to the ship. She shreeked. It was great. Have fun. I love the Magic.

What night will be the formal night? Is there a FE group? I just booked the cruise.

Any opinions of this place?

And not really going to snorkel unless it's close to shore. Looking for a beach to enjoy. Nice sand, clean water, restroom facilities with food and drinks for purchase.

We have only been to Bananarama on West Bay. I've been reading and have learned more about West End and feel it's not a place I would be interested in. We like Bananarama but it's getting crowded.

Anyone familiar with a beach for a day on West End beaches?

I am a female traveling with 3 8 year old girls. We were taking a shuttle van to margaritaville area to walk through shops and grab some lunch. It was to be 5pp. Our driver offered to anyone who wanted to stay on the van and for 20 pp he would take us around the city and stop at a few shopping areas. The kids didn't need to be in the sun and it was hot so we chose to stay with him and also another couple. It was a great time. No fear no worries. So many people miss out seeing this country and the wonderful people. Our driver stopped at porkys pit so we could have jerk chicken which was very good.

Had a good time but disappointed with the ship. Being on Carnival Magic twice and Disney Fantasy last year might have something to do with that. The decor is ugly and I never figured out the theme. All the services and workers were great. The dining menus seemed to have fewer options. The shows offered were not in my taste but we enjoyed the beach show and one family comedy show.

Just because it sails out of Texas doesn't mean I want to listen to cry in your beer music. Like a previous post mentioned-it is a gaudy decor. But it's a ship on the ocean heading to paradise and I love it. I do think the Magic spoiled me...

We watched football playoff game on the pool big screen a few years ago. Daytona 500 should rank at that level.

I am hoping the same but I will be on the Freedom and at sea on Sunday. I'm going to ask at any of the bars outside and the casino. I have seen Nascar on the casino bar tvs.

This is a walkway up to the start of the fall they take you to. Those that want to can jump off cliff/waterfall to lower level where the rope swings are.

I would say it's not going to be easy for you two. I wouldn't recommend either really. I loved blue hole but I believe it's only a private tour so you won't have the medical protection you would have (I think) as a cruise tour. I never use ship tours personally.

Jamaica is beautiful. Want to be adventurous and have amazing surrounding take a tour to blue hole with liberty tours and Ricardo. On the magic visit the red frog pub, have a Carib beer, Cajun chick peas and listen to the solo entertainment for the night.

I feel you would not want to take a young child. It is walking up steps and hills. It is beautiful and fun for those that can walk on rocks in water, fly into water on a rope, jump off cliffs... My 12 year boys had a blast. I am taking my nieces and granddaughter, all 8 and I feel they are to young to enjoy.

Just off Conquest....Oct 17-25th....A quick review
in Carnival Cruise Lines

We will be on the Conquest for Thanksgiving week. Thanks for the info. I am a Carnival junkie and have only been on the Magic the past cruisers so I will keep an open mind about all the comments for Conquest. I have been on the Oasis and it's to big for my liking. Not even like a cruise ship for me.
