  1. I always (unsurprisingly) have the English bacon, which is not crispy in that way.
  2. Seasonal berries, smoked salmon, bacon, devilled kidneys sans toast, mushrooms, plain yog, good quality sausages: no carbs in any of those. 🙂
  3. Mixed seasonal berries, smoked salmon, rolls, brioche, sausage and bacon, devilled kidneys, mushrooms, toast, plain yoghurt, croissants, in various combinations saw me through my voyage. 🙂
  4. Not a breakfast person myself, but other than that they sometimes need to reminded that croissants are better eaten warm, I always enjoy their breakfasts. I try never to have exactly the same thing twice.
  5. I thought that was just me, so I didn’t say anything, but I’m glad someone else thinks so.
  6. And I would say, from pretty lengthy experience, completely atypical of Cunard pax.
  7. Indeed. Half the pax on Cunard probably don’t know how to use mobile phones. 😀
  8. Indeed it is. Sympathies. Why can’t the loud man use his cabin to phone?
  9. No, that’s a very good point. Even more amazing is working those hours and looking cheerful. One of the (many) things I love about Cunard is the quietness and serenity.
  10. Very daring. Perhaps,as you spend a lot of time on there and know your way around, they might actually employ you?
  11. Sorry, I thought as I wrote this that it can be repetitive in its unpredictability, as in Cross Country’s services via Birmingham.
  12. How can it possibly be repetitive and unpredictable? And you must have been very lucky indeed if you did not find the Med. train services unpredictable. Friends have had major problems in France, Spain, and Italy.
  13. As far as I can work out, the only possible purpose of serving this on paper is to hide the fact that the emblem is in the wrong place, or, heaven forfend, that there isn’t one! 🙂
  14. Yes, in the past shorts might have made it easier on a bike, but ours don’t have them any more. 🙂
  15. But some still wear them on cold frosty days when there is no possibility of rain.
  16. Yes, postmen are rather weird in that respect.
  17. Me neither. You remember Lydia Lopokova, a famous ballerina and Maynard Keynes’ wife, said she never wore shorts in the summer, because her legs got so bitten by barristers. A wise thought, and the rest of the year it is too cold. 🙂
  18. Cunard sometimes has something called New York striploin, which sounds like a burlesque show. But surely that can’t be too bad. And actually, if you are going to eat cows, or rather bullocks, as I do, it is important it all gets used, not just the fillets. But tougher parts are better in stews.
  19. We would probably call having the heat source from below griddling. I have a griddle pan that goes on the hob.
  20. Sorry, I have instructions on how to use my Zanussi oven, and the heat source for grilling definitely comes from above. I believe them. And I think that is the universal UK usage.
