If anyone needs a good pre-cruise/post-cruise hotel, we still have a group rate available at the Hilton Ft Lauderdale Marina.
I am sailing with a military reunion group and we have extra rooms.
The Hilton is located 2 miles from FLL and less than 1 mile from the cruise ship terminal.
Our group rate is $239.00.
This rate is good for any of these dates: Feb 6 - 14, 2017.
Here is the link to book: https://aws.passkey.com/event/14757489/owner/4912/home

Hi there, we have thought about doing the uber route from a fort lauderdale hotel to the port of miami (because we need to stop at the liquor store for wine) as a few cruisers have suggested it.
Have many of you done this and found it to be reliable or a nightmare?
Thanks!
Jamie
Personally, I have found the Uber App to not be very reliable. It works and then it doesn't work. I have an Android; not sure if that may be the reason.
I use Lyft now as my "Uber".
The concept is outstanding and I highly recommend.
Most Uber drivers are also driving for Lyft.
The difference?
Customers can tip on the Lyft App. This is not possible on Uber.
Unless Uber has changed their app recently.

Does anyone have a good idea of a hotel/motel' date=' in Fort Lauderdale, close to the port. We need it for February. The ones I have looked at are so expensive. Also do the hotels keep your car while you are away, or where is the best place to park.[/quote']
I am cruising with a group in Feb 2017. We have a group rate at the Hilton Ft Lauderdale Marina. (located less than 1 mile from the cruise terminal)
Our rate is good for any of these dates: Feb 6 - Feb 14, 2017.

We will be driving from Minnesota to Fort Lauderdale in February for a cruise. We will probably stay somewhere around Fort Pierce the night before and park at the Park ‘n Go lot near the port. Is it better to take I-95 or the Florida Turnpike both on the first leg to Fort Pierce and on the second leg from Fort Pierce to Fort Lauderdale?
From your signature, it looks like you are cruising at the same time as our group. We have a group rate at the Hilton Ft Lauderdale Marina. And we have a parking discount too.
Our group rate is good for Feb 6 - 14, 2017.

I posted this in the new cruiser section, but it was suggested to post it here as well.Forgive me if this comes across as spam, not the intent. The fiancee and I are trying to narrow down our options for honeymoon cruises in Europe. We are first timers and completely new to this.I thought I had it narrowed down to Celebrity, Amazara, and Viking, but from reading the reviews I'm leery of pulling the trigger on something so expensive. Some of the reviews on Celebrity suggest that some employees can be very pushy on upsells, some have suggested that the rooms with Amazara are not worth the price, and Viking and Princess seem to be all over the place. We are in our late 20s and looking for something that really immerses us in the destinations without completely breaking the bank like Regent.Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Celebrity is a very good cruise line. I don't hesitate to recommend them.
Upsell? It happens on most ships. No biggie.

Anyone can photograph you with their own equipment.
The only time I have seen a restriction is when you are taking a photo with one of the ship's photographers (with a background, etc). They don't want guests stepping in and photographing while they are photographing.

We are a family of 6 and looking for a hotel near the Port Everglades. I would like to avoid getting two hotel rooms if possible. Also, do any hotels have free parking while you are on your cruise if you stay the night before the cruise? Thanks in advance.
The Embassy Suites.
Two Double beds and a sleeper sofa. You can easily sleep 6.

They have Hilton MVP rates for your stay at 207.00 for your time frame. And it doesn't have to be a group. Just a heads up.
Fri & Sat (Feb 10/Feb 11) is still showing $284.00 per night on MVP.

We are flying into FLL on the day before our cruise in Feb 2017 and would like some input for a 1 day hotel stay.
I know there is a ton of info here and have been reading but wanted to post anyway.
We land around 12 noon and I was looking for a clean hotel and to spend the day on the beach so we would like somewhere either on the beach or close enough to walk.
shopping , bars and restaurants are not a big deal but cost is. we would like to stay around the $175 - $200 mark. ( per room)
everything I seem to find in that price range has awful reviews.
oh a shuttle would be nice but not a deal breaker, we plan on using Uber.
does anyone have an idea what Uber would be from FLL to FLL Beach area and from hotel to cruise port?
there will be 4 adults with bags traveling
Thanks

Only for these dates, though: 6-14 Feb 2017

I'm trying to decide on an Alaska itinerary and here's the difference. Of the dates I can go, two weeks have the same itinerary with the exception of one port date. One week visits Icy Strait Point while the other week goes to Sitka.
I've never been to Alaska and this a family trip for an active couple with three teens. From my initial research, it seems Sitka has more to see and do. But I wanted to get your opinions/ideas. Can you help me?
Andy
ISP has an amazing zip line which your active family will probably enjoy greatly.
Pair this with a whale watching excursion and it will be a perfect day! ;)

In need if some advice please
Family of 16 travelling for a cruise. We are staying one night in Fort Lauderdale area before the cruise.
We plan on ubering from airport, and would like to stay close by to shops, shop beach and restaurants. suggestions on hotels?
After the cruise we will be renting an airbnb for 2 nights, and we need to rent 2 vans and 1 car.
Are there car rentals in Port everglades? Or should we go outside the port? If so where? Woukd line to drop off at airport if possible.
If outside do we just send 3 drivers and we wait for them to pick us up or should we all go. Do rental companies offer free shuttle?
Overwhelmed with this trip with my entire family, and any suggestions and advice is appreciated.
Thanks
What is your pre-cruise date? We have a great group rate at the Hilton Marina, but it is only for a few days in Feb 2017.

Can anyone give suggestion for wedding hair and makeup artist? Also does anyone have deminisions of tables, round or rectangle they provide for favors, guest book ect. What types of things do you suggest that would help personalize the receptions?
Check out the website called The Knot. You will be able to search for vendors in Galveston and see reviews, etc.

Hello all ,
I'm trying to order our save the dates but have no clue how to word it. So far I only have :
Save the Date and sail with us
Jamea and Edward are tying the knot in the Caribbean
Setting sail from Jacksonville FL to cruise to Bahamas
June 8-12 , 2017
For more Information please visit our website : http://www.bahamastakeover2017.com
Please share your wording or any suggestions are appreciated. Below is the pic of the save the date I will be ordering. TIA
Sent from my Z987 using Forums mobile app
Keep in mind that it is just the Save the Date. It is not the invitation, so it doesn't need to have everything on it that an invitation would have.
You want to give the date AND you want to direct them to your wedding website so that they can see all the details.
If you will be sending an actual invitation, you might add this phrase: formal invitation to follow

Hi brides! Is it tacky to write on the RSVPs to our guests to rsvp by phone or e-mail, rather than having them mail back the RSVP?
The reasoning is that I am from Canada and my fiancé is from Costa Rica. We are living in Costa Rica, which would make it very difficult to have our Canadian guests mail them back to us. We will be mailing the invites to our Canadian guests when we are in Canada visiting. I know I could have them mail the RSVP to my parents who live in Canada, but it just seem so much easier and quicker for them to do it by phone or email. But not sure if this is a no no.
Thoughts?
You can do a wedding website and provide the link to the web site on the RSVP card. Or, depending on how formal your invitation is, you can give the RSVP instructions on the actual invitation: with the instructions being to RSVP on the website.
We have my daughter's wedding website at RileyGrey. They offer a very professional website that is very easy to customize. They have a nice RSVP option.

I have never been to Ft Lauderdale but read the airport is quite close to the port. Is a flight arriving at FLL at 10:44am feasible to make a sailing that departs at 4pm? I like to fly in the previous day but this may not be possible this time. Anyone familiar with this port, please advise. Thanks
You are taking a risk.
So much can happen (situations that happen daily in air travel) that can cause you to miss the ship.
Not to mention the pressure/stress of such a schedule.
Yes, the port is close.

You can't go wrong with the Embassy Suites on 17th St.
I have stayed there many a night.
As long as the price is good!
Certain times of the year: Ft Lauderdale hotels are off the chart expensive!

Cozumel has fruit sniffing dogs.

Hi everyone, Do we stay in Fort Lauderdale or near Miami airports?
Details: Feb 2017
Flying into FLL night before (fri) cruise out of port of Miami (sat)
traveling with at least 15 people, all adults.
So here's what I need everyone's opinion who has done this in the past
We're flying into FLL Friday night at 7pm and our cruise is Saturday and we'd like to be in port to be on ship as early as they allow. Should we:
A. stay in hotel in Fort Lauderdale then shuttle to the port in the am or
B. shuttle to a hotel Friday night and stay near Miami airport.
The hotels close to port are too expensive for such a short stay so that's why we're looking near both airports for cheaper hotel rates (less than 50 pp)
We're leaning towards staying the night in FL because we can prob get a free hotel shuttle from airport to hotel. So if we did that, what is the cheapest and best way to get to port of Miami early in the am on saturday?
Any thought, suggestions on hotels, shuttle, uber etc would be great. Thank you!!!
We have a $239.00 group rate at the Hilton Ft Lauderdale Marina.
Only for any of these dates: 6 Feb - 14 Feb 2017.
The regular rate is as high as $300.00, depending on the check-in date.
The hotel is approx 2 miles from the airport.
