  2. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn and to all contributors. I still have one working DVR and need to copy some tapes to DVD. Caring and Food Safety are both important things we need daily. And it's National Donut Day! Good quote. Maybe for the meal, pass on the drink (basil) and wine. Kings Wharf was the first stop on my TA last year, my first time in Bermuda. A good day in history. It's windy here, but at least not raining for now. Yesterday I was sort of a couch potato, mainly reading. I took my RA shot earlier in the day, as I was afraid after being off it for so long, I might have a bigger reaction. I get hives at the injection site, but no generalized reaction, but didn't want to be asleep if something developed. I took 50mg of benadryl, which had me nodding off in the evening. At bedtime I took another 50mg. Despite that I had a small itchy hive on my leg this morning. I'm trying Claritin this AM so I won't be so sleepy, and will take benadryl before bed. No great plans for today; maybe just tidying up. I started feeding my sourdough starter again, and may make some bread tomorrow, for the first time in almost a year. I've been thinking that we haven't heard from @cruzn single in a long time. It looks like she hasn't posted since November. @StLouisCruisers I hope you can make some progress on your cross stitch project. @Haljo1935 I'm glad you got the bad pain checked out. So, it was kidney stones? They can be really painful as they pass. I recall grown men weeping in the ER from the pain. Did they give you a strainer to catch the stones, so they can be analyzed for type? @aliaschief Hard to believe your great cruise is ending. Thanks for taking us along with your photos. @marshhawk Prayers for strength for you as you deal with everything. I'm glad the behavioral specialist called this morning, and could see what the issues are. @ottahand7 I'm glad your back is feeling better; the prednisone must be helping. @cunnorl I was holding my breath until Starliner got those thrusters back online. Congrats on the new car! Always fun (except for the payments). @Seasick Sailor Good news that your ankle is feeling better. @Nickelpenny Oh no on ripping up a tire yesterday! @sailingdutchy Thanks for the great photos. @bennybear What an awful situation with the water. I've not heard of pipes that big. I hope it's fixed soon. @kazu I hope you have less pain today. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  4. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. An important day of Remembrance and the sacrifices made, D-Day. I'll salute creative educators. Gardening certainly can be exercise. Drive-in movies were fun; few exist now. Strange quote. I wouldn't mind a fritata, but with different add-ins. Pass on the drink and yes to the wine. I suppose I've been through Tracy Arm Inlet. A highly important day in history. I just finished watching Masters of the Air last night, appropriately, about airmen in WW2. From my TA last year and visit to La Havre/Normandy. It's cloudy, warm and humid here today. Yesterday I did go to BFF's with supplies, then to my Neurosurgeon. She was very happy that I'm pain free. The incision is healing well. I can start to increase my activity as tolerated, and don't have to go back unless there's an issue. I did get a script for PT. I'm also going to slowly start decreasing my Gabapentin. So a good report! Today I'm battling my GMail - I use the website, and all buttons have disappeared from the top. I can't delete anything. I turned off the VPN, adblocker, cleared the cache, and nothing helps. I can on my phone, but I primarily use online. Ugh. @StLouisCruisers Thanks for the Tracy Arm photos. I need to revisit Alaska; I've only been once. @kazu Great sentiments and words. @Haljo1935 Sorry the knee injection hurt; I've had many and they weren't like that. I hope it and the PT does the trick. @0106 I'm glad you're ok. I was thinking of my friends who live in Gaithersburg. @ottahand7 I'm glad your back is feeling better. I hope the TENS unit helps; I got one when I was having all the leg pain. @Cruzin Terri Good that DH is getting rest, and I hope his leg is feeling better. @marshhawk I'm glad the new doctor has some ideas to treat DH. It's always good being at a teaching hospital, as they are usually up on newer techniques and treatments. And I'm glad you told them to call on your home phone, so you're in the loop. @aliaschief That looks like a great thing to do. @rafinmd I'm glad you were safe from the tornadoes. @kochleffel Nice photos. @Seasick Sailor I'm glad you went to the clinic first thing this morning. I hope it starts to improve now; do they want you back to see how it's going? @Quartzsite Cruiser Thank you for the photos from near Omaha Beach. And the Tracy Arm ones too. @Heartgrove I appreciate you sharing the memorabilia from your father's participation on D-Day. That's very special and I'm sure you were proud of him. @Overhead Fred Safe trip to the cabin. Very sad about your neighbor's daughter. Nice garden photos. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

  6. Beautiful. Are you staying on for the next segment?
  7. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I am a Baby Boomer. Not sure about popular delusions, until Graham explained. I have a couple of friends who are long term HIV survivors, thanks to the development of antiviral meds. Typical W.C. Fields quote. I like the meal, pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Mystery Island. An important day in history. It's cloudy, warm and humid here. We're expecting storms this afternoon, of course right when I'll be out and about. I'll start by taking groceries to BFF, and doing anything he needs. Then going to my Neurosurgery appointment. @Cruzin Terri I'm sad to hear that the wheelchairs didn't appear, and that DH fell getting on the bus to the terminal in Barbados, resulting in a leg injury. And about the confusion; I know sometimes taking someone away from their familiar surroundings can increase confusion. I hope his check at the medical facility is ok. @StLouisCruisers I'm glad the rain held off for you. I hope the person taken by ambulance will be ok. Ren and Colton seem to have it all planned out; good for them. Milo and Sadie are just too cute. @kazu (((Hugs))) @swin26 Safe travels. @richwmn Thanks for the Mystery Island photos. @smitty34877 I'm glad your day is going well so far, and hope it continues. @dfish I hope the test shot works well. My back wasn't happy this morning either. @ottahand7 Sorry to hear you're still in a lot of pain. I hope the Prednisone works, or if not it sounds like a good plan to go to the hospital to get it treated. Keeping good thoughts for your DB's 2nd knee replacement. @marshhawk I hope the new doctor has some ideas to help DH. Sorry your friend has reached the point of hospice. @RMLincoln Good luck with Social Security; It's never easy dealing with them. @rafinmd Are they doing an echocardiogram down the esophagus? Not too much else requires sedation, other than a catheterization. @sailingdutchy Lovely photos of beautiful flowers. @durangoscots That was more than enough excitement for the day. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  9. I also just realized today is my CC anniversary, 17 years!
  10. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. No cat here to hug, but many Dailyites will be hugging their cats. Innocent children as victims of aggression is terrible and shouldn't happen. I suppose Old Maid's Day applies to me, but I'd like it to be called something else. Famous W.C. Fields quote. Maybe on the meal, depending on what greens. Pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Molde. I didn't realize the Ryder Cup went that far back. It's going to be hot (87F) and sunny today. The morning news was warning to drink water, wear sunscreen and not get overheated. Schools that have no AC are doing remote learning today. I guess I was worn out form my errands yesterday. I started to read in my recliner in the late afternoon, and the next thing I knew I'd napped 2.5 hours. I was worried I wouldn't sleep last night because of that, but I still got about 6 hours of sleep. No big plans for today, just some tidying around the house as I'm able. @LambKnuckles Wow, that's hot! @Haljo1935 I hope today's PT is helpful. @Cruzin Terri I'm glad that things are calm so far. Safe flight to Miami, then Barbados. I'm glad you got wheelchairs to help with the distances you would otherwise have to walk. @StLouisCruisers Happy Anniversary to DS and DDIL. And hugs on the anniversary of DS Nancy's and the twins' passing. @kazu I hope you can find someone to help you weed, to give you a break. I have one bed that needs to be weeded, and my lawn mowers don't do that. Hopefully I can do that soon, using a tool that won't require much bending. @ottahand7 Hopefully this knee surgery for your DB clears up all the issues he had after the last one. Oh no, about your leg; I'm glad you had the prednisone to take. @Seasick Sailor I hope your ankle and shoulder are coming along. @Quartzsite Cruiser Great Molde photos. @RMLincoln I hope DH is able to get off the drops that he is allergic to. Maybe it's too early to tell how this will all play out. @smitty34877 Thinking of you and Tana. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

  12. Graham, I had to hold my RA medication one week before my back surgery and for 6 weeks after. I will be able to start back on Wednesday. I knew the RA and my eye condition both might flare up somewhat, but what could I do? Could you talk to your heart doctor about using low dose medication for your arthritis? Jane, I'm sorry to hear that you have Covid again. From what others have said, it takes a while for your energy to come back. So rest and be kind to yourself. Also sorry to hear that your son had cellulitis; I hope that resolves quickly.
  13. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I didn't know about Chimborazo before today. Stuffed shrimp are good. I don't know about the scholars part. Wonder Woman is fun. Funny quote. Maybe on the meal. Pass on the drink and the wine is too expensive. I haven't been to Ajaccio. It's warmer today, 70's, but increasing humidity. Yesterday, after doing laundry, I was a couch potato, starting the 700+ page book (biography) that was the source material for the movie Oppenheimer. Today I wanted to run some errands, so I stopped at the pharmacy, post office, then Aldi, then my local grocery store. I picked up stuff for BFF, that I'll take to him on Wednesday, on my way to my 6 week neurosurgery appointment. I tried to walk further, and now my legs and back aren't happy. I think some of my issues are due to skipping 3 doses of my RA meds; my hands sure know it and the joints hurt. @grapau27 Thanks for the information about Chimborazo and Stuffed Shrimp. I'm glad you're both well. @StLouisCruisers Congrats to FC Dallas and Ren! Thanks for the Ajaccio photos; it looks like a lovely place to visit. Lovely flower photos. @aliaschief I hope your back is better by tomorrow. Thanks for the Montenegro photos. @AroundWithMAPTravels Thanks for the photos. @smitty34877 I'm glad you made it home safely and that you and Tana slept fairly well. How wonderful of Tana's nurse friends to volunteer to help out in the evenings. @Cruzin Terri You and DH deserve some down time. I hope DH can stay somewhat calm. Enjoy Barbados! @Seasick Sailor I hope your ankle and shoulder aren't too bad. I'm glad you decided to get the ankle checked out. @RMLincoln I hope all is well with DH's eye exam. @Quartzsite Cruiser Lovely Ajaccio photos. @sailingdutchy Great sign and Ajaccio photos. Cute photo of you and Martha, and the Cellar Master Dinner with friends. @Copper10-8 Thanks for the laughs. Excellent photos of you and your Mum. @Cruising-along I'm glad the birthday party was a success. @Vict0riann Prayers for a straightforward treatment. @XBGuy Sadly many of the wines you highlight aren't available here in our restrictive state run wine & spirits stores. And until recently you couldn't even get wines shipped to PA. @bennybear Nice photos. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  15. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. It's hard not to be aware of gun violence; sadly there were several shootings in the greater metro area here last night, and it seems daily when I turn on the morning news. I like rotisserie chicken, but usually buy it at a big box store already cooked. St. Eramus is the patron saint of sailors and abdominal conditions/diseases. Such a sweet sentiment in the quote. I like the "meal", pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Moorea. 2 great days in history. It's cloudy here, with passing showers, and temps in the 60's. I was successful yesterday in not doing much of anything. I finished the memoir of Patrick Stewart that I had been reading. Today I'm getting laundry done. I considered a grocery store run, but think I'll wait until tomorrow. @luvteaching Bon Voyage! @Horizon chaser 1957 Happy Retirement to your DH! @kazu I'm glad you got an appointment with the vascular surgeon, but sorry you have to wait so long. I'm sorry you're still in so much pain. Be careful when you try to work in the garden. The flowers you received are beautiful. @StLouisCruisers I'm glad your weather was good for Stockholm. Great Moorea photos. The water is such a pretty color. @Crazy For Cats Good news on more hospitals coming back online. Beautiful visitor you had. @cat shepard Thanks. I am busier than I had planned, due to trying to help BFF. I do try to take precautions with lifting and bending, as instructed. I do think it's helping me get stronger. I still have trouble going up and down the stairs, but take my time and use a cane to help. I'm anxious to get back to PT, if I get the ok later this week. @Heartgrove I hope the harness works for Sam. @aliaschief I hope that resting today fixes up your back situation. @Quartzsite Cruiser Excellent photos. Thanks. @marshhawk Don't you get a break when you're working noon to 9pm? I'm sure you'll be glad when you go back to normal hours. I heard about the water in Atlanta; it seems the infrastructure is just too old. @HAL Sailer Thinking of you and your DH. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.

  17. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Rabbit, Rabbit, White Rabbit! 3 good days to acknowledge. Awesome quote. I like good egg salad. Pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to Kos. I remember the song Mrs. Robinson very well. Another cold start here in the low 40's, but going up to 81F. Yesterday, although I wasn't at BFF's house more than 5 hours, I got a lot done. I must have been tired when I got home, as I fell asleep for about 30 minutes in the early evening. But then later I slept 2.5 hours in the recliner. And still slept last night. I was very stiff this morning, and my knee is pretty painful. I may put off doing laundry, to avoid the multiple trips up and down the steps. I have a good book, so I may just be in the recliner reading. Lots going on in town this weekend; Kenny Chesney concert, the Pride parade today, and the 2 week long arts festival starting (for which it always rains!). @Mr. Boston Bon Voyage! @StLouisCruisers I'm glad you had decent weather for Helsinki. How awful about that neighbor's break-in being an inside job by the grandson and his associates. @grapau27 I hope you're feeling well today. Lovely poppies. @rafinmd I'm glad the pain from the extraction has been tolerable. @Crazy For Cats Thanks for stopping in. I know you have your hands full at work with those cyber events. @Vict0riann I was sorry to learn of the positive biopsy. I hope you can get scheduled soon for the lumpectomy, and that that is all that is required for treatment. @smitty34877 Thinking of Tana, and I hope you are getting some rest. @kazu I hope you have less pain and can get some answers soon. 19. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. Saving your hearing is important; I have tinnitus, attributed to some age-related hearing loss (only high frequencies). I try to keep good thoughts mainly. I'm all for no tobacco. Great quote (I'm a big Tolkien/LOTR fan). Pass on the meal, maybe for the drink and pass on the wine. I haven't been to Port Said. Another chilly start here, in the low 40's, but warming up nicely. I just had delivery of the drop leaf table I sent out for restoration. Expensive, but it looks great. It's from the early 1900's and belonged to my DM's Mother. Plans today are to pack up groceries I bought for BFF (and a few surprise treats) and take them to him. I'll also do anything he needs, like laundry, within my limits. @Vict0riann Happy Birthday to Pat! @StLouisCruisers I'm glad you had good weather for Tallinn. Lovely Port Said photos. @grapau27 I hope you're feeling better today, Graham. Thanks for the explanation of the day. @Heartgrove It sad that Sam is healthy, but can't get around easily. @Denise T I hope Fancy recovers well from the lyme disease. @seagarsmoker Thanks for letting us know, so we don't worry. I hope all your projects go well. @ottahand7 Nice photo. @mamaofami Yikes on the snakes! Prayers for your DD and DGS while in Israel. @marshhawk I'm glad you're arranging your schedule so you have some time off. @smitty34877 Thank goodness DD and DSIL are able to arrange their schedules to help out while you are away. Continued prayers for Tana. @ger_77 I hope the Chiro is helping DH's back. @RMLincoln Enjoy that walk today, and the meditation group. @Nickelpenny Good luck at the appointment today. So sad about that child drowning; people need to get teaching for their young children. My DM couldn't swim, and was somewhat afraid of the water, but she made sure I got swimming lessons at the local YMCA. @rafinmd I hope all goes well with the dental extraction. @Overhead Fred Thanks for the photos. @Quartzsite Cruiser Exciting to be getting the golf cart today. Nice photos from Port Said. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  21. Lenda, BFF is doing ok. Luckily not much pain. HIs main issue is trouble getting around. He couldn't get the hang of crutches and uses a walker around the house. He ordered a knee scooter, and I set it up for him yesterday. It's pretty good indoors, but doesn't have a tight turning radius. He goes for a post-op check in about 2 weeks. I'll be visiting tomorrow, bringing some groceries.
  22. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I try to be creative, when need be. I need to water my orchid today. Progress on treating MS has been made, but more is needed. Thought-provoking quote. Maybe for the meal, yes to the drink and I'll pass on the wine. I've been to Alaska, but not to College Fjord. Wow, the Indy 500 is pretty old. It's a lovely day here. 67F and sunny. It started out quite nippy, in the 40's. Boy, I'm tired. First off I didn't sleep that long. I went to bed late, as I started watching a series on Netflix (one more, then I'll go to bed). Plus I had extra coffee yesterday. So it was a bit hard to fall asleep. Then I started errands. First to the pharmacy. Then to Walmart, where I hadn't been since pre-pandemic. And then I couldn't find what I wanted, which was supposedly in stock per the website. Then to the big box store, to shop for me and BFF. Just lifting things off a stack and into the cart was hard. And I had to walk all over to find some things he wanted, that I don't normally buy. Then get it all into the house. My legs and feet are hurting. I'll be in the recliner soon. @kazu Happiest of Birthdays! I hope your legs are feeling better today. @GTVCRUISER Happy Birthday! Aww, such cute pictures. @StLouisCruisers Oh my on the train mishap with cruise passengers! I hope no one was hurt. I bet they were quite upset by the time they got to the ship. Thanks for the photos from College Fjord. And DD has outdone herself on that tree! Spectacular! @grapau27 I'm glad that Pauline is feeling better, and I hope you are too, soon. Thanks for the photos of Newcastle and NS. @St Pete Cruiser Thanks for the photos from Newcastle; I've not been there. Safe travels home on Saturday. @Cruzin Terri I'm glad you got some good sleep last night. I'm glad your shoulder is feeling better after the injection. I had always gone to the hospital-affiliated PT, but they weren't working on the issues I was interested in (like trouble climbing stairs). Last year I went to an independent place that's in my insurance plan, and 5 minutes from my house, and it's great. I will be getting a script to go back after I see my Neurosurgeon next week. @aliaschief Chioggia looks interesting; thanks for the photos. @marshhawk Wow, 13 cats. You have your own animal shelter practically. Congrats on the bonus, but I hope you can get some more sleep. @smitty34877 I can understand your concern about leaving; prayers that everything will be status quo while you're away. Enjoy the time with the DGC and the grand dog. @Mr. Boston Enjoy Montreal. I haven't been there since Expo 67! @Nickelpenny Good for you with the studies. I just finished the respiratory study I was in. I'll be interested to see what your surgeon says. I go next week and am hoping to get the all clear to do stuff. I too feel my back is "tight" and I know I'm deconditioned. I need PT! @kochleffel I've been resisting having someone come to my house for a wellness check. I did one via facetime a couple of years ago, but I tell them there's no need. I see a doctor in some form at least 3x/month, and see my PCP for an annual wellness exam. I check my BP at home. I also told them I'm in healthcare and I can take my meds appropriately (and probably know more about them than they do). So now I ignore all the emails and phone calls. @summer slope Good luck with the insurance company. @rafinmd Wishing you minimal pain with the extraction tomorrow. @Seasick Sailor Reggie has that wind blown look, lol. And Oliver is cute, as always. @XBGuy Thanks for you contributions to our wine knowledge. @Copper10-8 Thanks for the laughs, John. @durangoscots I hope the issue of the kids in the driveway gets settled. And ugh on your friend's terrible travels to go help her Father. Prayers for the Care List and Woohoo for those Celebrating.

  25. Good afternoon. Thanks for the FT/Daily @richwmn and to all contributors. I'll salute UN peacekeepers. I need to learn about composting, as I know nothing. 529 day is important for those saving for kids' college tuitions (trade school too). Funny Twain quote. The meal sounds like a good side dish. Pass on the drink and yes to the wine. I have been to Anchorage. A great day in history. It's cloudy and rainy, with threats of thunderstorms. It's only in the 60's. I was very tired yesterday after doing stuff for BFF, so I slept soundly last night. I'm just taking it easy, although researching installation of a wifi thermostat, so I don't have to go up to the 3rd floor to adjust that one (it is a programmable one). Also I still need to find someone to replace the LR radiator. @cat shepard Happy Birthday Ann! @P&PNH Happy Birthday Peter and Belated Birthday Paula! @Horizon chaser 1957 Happy Anniversary Laura! @grapau27 Beautiful poppies. I hope you and Pauline are feeling better. @aliaschief Wow, that's a big jump in passengers. Enjoy Chioggia tomorrow. @Haljo1935 Sorry to hear you couldn't get your eye procedure done. I hope the plugs help. @richwmn 😀 @StLouisCruisers I'm glad you got your tour in earlier. Nice Anchorage photos. @Quartzsite Cruiser Interesting photos. @RMLincoln I had to smile at north Jersey; I grew up in central Jersey (hence no accent, lol). Continued good thoughts for your DH. @marshhawk I'm sorry to hear of Chuck's pain. And hugs to you for all you're dealing with. Thanks for the photos. @rafinmd Prayers that Paul recovers from the pneumonia. @Seasick Sailor Nice photo of YSH. @Cruzin Terri I hope the injection helps. Safe trip home. @kochleffel I saw about St. Theodosius on the news; sad to see the damage. @quilty964 I did a flight tour there too. @Cruising-along That was a nice post by Amber's DH. @bennybear I'll take the pizza. Thanks for the photos. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers to those Celebrating.
