Perhaps it's the buy one get second for 50% off deal?
-
Pull the trigger! We always did with my boys and they did just fine, lol! They did homework in the late afternoons after a day at the pool.

From you parents? Or from Celebrity cruises?
-
Long Beach, hands down! Easy to get in/out of! No crowds, smooth flow and close to San Pedro! We live in SoCal and try to fly out of LGB whenever possible. Last few trips/cruises have been out of LGB. Also, we live even closer to SNA, but prefer LGB if that helps.
-
Nassau! Cuz they left me behind and never want to go back!
-
It's an awesome area just to chill! This ended up being our favorite spot. The best part, there were no crowds! Seems like other cruise lines are adopting something similar to the waterfront. Great idea!

How dare I forget the topless sunning section on some ships! ;O

We dressed up for dinner
No 'My Time' dining
LOTS of free drinks on special nights
Hitting golf balls off ship
Skeet shooting
Drinking LEGALLY at 18
Not getting lost on ships
GREAT service from all staff
Staff 'mingled' a lot with passengers 😉
Getting sea sick on smaller ships
GREAT music to dance to in the clubs
HOT food
Same servers each night
Late night/chocolate buffet
GREAT sail away parties

What happened?
You can find my story here on CC.... Look under KLFHNGR, 'I missed the ship'... My story is out there.. And all true. Long story short, I was looking for my child in Atlantis, I sent my family back while I waited/searched. Didn't make it back on time.
-
I missed the ship once, and even though I was cleared to get on at the next port, they still almost DIDN'T let me on!
-
I'm looking at a previous cruise flight, and we made it off the Allure and to FLL (from FLL) for a 10:15 AM flight.Â
I know, the ship was already in FLL.... But this does give us some hope that we can make it for a 10:30 AM FLL flight after debarking in MIA.... Hmmmmmmmm....
Â
I do appreciate all of your comments and advice.

Symphony on a Sat....

Ah man, was really hoping you'd all say 'not a problem'!
Â
Thanks all, this is why I love CC!
-
Found a great price from FLL to LAX. We arrive from the cruise in MIA, flight leaves at 10:30AM from FLL. Do we have good odds making it on time? Will do self debarkation.....

Everyone here needs a DRINK or chill pill!

We had the fastest embarkation ever getting on the Adv. of the Seas, but that created an almost unbearable crowd at the elevators and Windjammer Cafe (lunch buffet.) On port mornings it was hard to find a place to sit in the Windjammer and navigating around the tables was maddening. It was just too crowded in there, but only in that area. Most other places were fine. The entertainment was great. Our cabin location was likely the best we have ever encountered.
Â
Having the unlimited drink package on NCL made a huge difference. Also, the number of dinning venues far exceeded what they had on the Adv. RCL had Johnny Rockets, but charged $11+ for a hamburger, while on Carnival Guy's is free. A fountain coke in a glass full of ice was $3.84, but you can order a 6-pack of cokes from room service for $14.18 (both prices included gratuities.)
Â
Any cruise is what you make of it and your expectations play a big part. So, you should be fine on the Symphony.

Thanks John ! Anything beats being at work!

Wow John, great to hear! But now you got me worried about our upcoming Symphony of the Seas cruise! NCL did set the bar high, to my surprising!Â

Glad to have helped.....

You and your wife meet up with my daughter and me after early dining at the piano bar, Sunday April 6, on the Freedom. I'll buy the first round, including tips. You'll come out ahead because I will be headed back to the cabin when it's time to order the second round.
Happy sailing.
Nice, free drinks! And without the nuisance! Love it!
I thought we were on the same page, i guess not! LOL!

I can see, and even understand, your points. I also see and understand the other side.
Â
How about as civilized people who enjoy cruising, we agree to disagree?
Â
I feel the same way, lol.... And I totally understand both sides, I really do.
Agreed!

I'm not opposed to these charges or even the $1 extra. These people work HARD.Â
Â
My only gripe is that they allow people to remove the charges. I wonder how much extra we all pay for those who don't want to.
I agree that they work hard, so why don't the cruise lines pick up the slack? You know why, because they know that WE will!Â
We've never removed them, but we've given some staff additional cash.Â
I know that I'll come off as cheap, but I'm really not. It's the principle behind this.... Great companies are created by great leaders, and great leaders take care of their people.Â
