Best wishes and something good may come like finding a sailing partner:)
-
The cruise line has no authority of what you do on shore .
If you are drunk and commit a crime on shore and board the ship . The local authorities can take you off the ship.
Also note that Rccl is not an American Ship and the ports
Except for U.S. Virgin Islands & Puerto Rico , are considered Foeiegn Countries.

They are both great hotels in Condado area. In isla verde, I like the Intercontinental . The beach is beautiful .

Thinking of maiden voyage & January 3, 2015
Where in Europe are you sailing the transatlantic voyage?
-
I enjoyed reading your blog while on board the Canadian Cruise.
I'm sure the rough seas made the cruise more enjoyable.thanks
-
You may search for voyages via Bermuda. The Carinthia only made a few sailings to NY via Bermuda in the winter.

Ebola
in Cunard Line
My parents taught me to never exchange bodily fluid with strangers. :pAnd what did your parents teach you about exchanging bodily fluids with FRIENDS?

Yes, most of us here know that. At the moment I'm on QM2 and she's only doing about 12 knots.
I do understand that many posters here have happy memories of the old QE2 and dearly prefer the old girl over her successor. What I don't get is the obstance of a few to insist that QM2 is not a transatlantic liner. By hull form and reserve power she's a thoroughbred liner even if and when she is used on more leisurly itineraries.
Who said its not an ocean liner????
As we said over and over that it's an Ocean liner being used as a cruise ship
But any way. Enjoying your posts on board . Looking forward for more:)

The chart to which you refer is the British Admiralty chart 4011: North Atlantic Ocean - Northern Part, which covers the routing we will take. It is available from any number of boating suppliers online, as well as Amazon, for anywhere from $40 to $60. Just Google "4011 north atlantic chart," and you can also see some low-resolution partial images there as well. Be forewarned that it is quite large, maybe two feet by three feet.
BTW, I have a free iPad app which tracks QM2, called Boat Watch.
But what's the point? I'm sure you can buy it at some nautical shop on New Jersey , even at target LOL
This is all about ones voyage and the route the QM2 sailed .
You can't buy that. It's part of the joy of ones voyage !!!!
-
At the end of the voyage the official chart will be auctioned to raise money for the Prince's Trust. I have never bid on it and have no idea what it goes for.
Yes. , you got it right . The price depends on the auction .

In September 2013 QM2's designer was here to answer questions, including those which asked if his ship is a true ocean liner. The archive can be found Stephen Payne Q&A.
Yes we all know this , ( Cunarders). There were lectures on board the Qm2 by
Officers about this fact
The point is about the Qm2 becoming a cruise oriented ship given the popularity of cruising, not not mention new mega cruise ships being made.

So how was a ride on the SS United States like in those days?
I'm surprised so see my old post pop up . It still holds
The s/s United States is a true Ocean liner. As was the France,
Rotterdam, . They went through the storms and they were fast.
The Transatlantic market , I think, still prefer to fly . When the Qm2 came out
In 2004 the plan was to replace the QE2 in the transatlantic , but it didn't go that way .

...or men wearing kilts?
Salacia
You do put things in perspective !
And there are a lot of kilts worn on the Qm2

Got the same free cruise worth 1499, on NCL, but I know it's some type of scam, but I am still very curious! I know there's a timeshare involved as well. I treys googling the name and phone number, but couldn't find anything out! Has anyone actually called them?
Good question. Also why is it a timeshare?
The letter says NCL. Is it a promotion For latitudes members?
I should call from a private line, then They cant get my
Number For whatever.
Then i should call NCl
-
Ok thanks. Looks like a scam!!!
-
I have received a promotion 2 me
In a form of a check with an "approximate"
Value of $1499.
I need to call NCl at a toll free number
If a call ASAP I get 2 rountrip air tickets
Anyone get one of these?
Is there a valid free offer?

On the last August 31. Bermuda Cruise
Julie ( cruise director)announced that the Glow disco party is a Family Party
What does that mean? Parents with tots in baby carriages
Were on the dance floor.Children with parents were dancing. Kinda hard to dance with carriages
And I feel bad for the tots, some were up there till after
Midnight .
But every one was so drunk it was all in fun.
Disclaimer : just my observation and not judgemental

No fee on ncl for water. Wine requires a $15 fee per bottle.
Ok thanks!
-
the real question you have to ask yourself.
Which water is better? Ships water or bottled water?
I see lot of cases of the smaller bottled water
I would thing it depends on the brand and the price.
If price was the factor which would be cheaper ?
-
On my last voyage on Breakaway, I saw people bringing
Their own WATER in cases. I was surprised
Is this allowed by NCL? Is there a fee in I bring
A case or 2( little ones)

The little wink icon is typically used to indicate a joke. But thanks for the lesson.
Oops sorry didn't know that
And thanks too

They aren't talking about hurricane months for the US. People are talking about hurricane at Bermuda, which is a British Colony, so since you are in the UK, you are expected to know this. Gee whiz. ;)
Bermuda is part of and included & important part
Of the US east coast weather.
It may be part of the UK commonwealth , as Australia,
But thousand of miles from uk
Ever hear of the Bermuda Triangle ????
LOL
-
I too will be in the same position in 30 days. I haven't seen hotels etc. advertising about hurricane season either. But it remains June 1 thru November 30 year after year. With the busiest time being August followed by the first few weeks of September. I picked the very last week the BA is going to Bermuda for that very reason. I'd have preferred a week or two later but that's the Bahamas run which we did last December too. There is not a lot of choices when Bermuda has to be skipped. Either head north to Canada and really tick off everyone that has packed for hot weather and may have cool weather instead. Or head south to Florida & Nassau. Just make sure you have a Plan B for the southern route and hope for Bermuda.
I have sailed to the uk in August and hit
A hurricane. We are talking about a northern route
I have sailed to Bermuda in September and had beautiful
Calm weather
Sandy the hurricane hit the NE of US in
October!!!!!
So plan C. Stay home and watch the weather station
-
Unless you have your head in the sand or under a rock ANYONE should know the summer months off the US coast and the Caribbean are Hurricane months.:roll eyes:
What would have been a good alternative?????
They have three.....sail NORTH or sail SOUTH or sail of the coast of NY in circles.
Stop beating a dead horse
Bermuda is cruise destination in the
Spring ans summer.
I sailed out of Bermuda the 1 st week of June
On Brwkaway, we hit a storm of 40knots
And 22 ft waves. Very odd this time of year
Due to climate change
I have sailed north transatlantic
In April and hit 36 ft waves and 70 mph
Winds
There was a hurricane hitting the
North east over July 4 weekend
So what do you suggests ?
Stay at home , no travel. Cruises until the
Weather forecast is sunny and calm?
Hehe you will never travel

He is right. Too far south for a transatlantic crossing. It's the great circle .
Quantum of the seas can't loose its schedule on its maiden voyage .
