She's here!
It was a long wait but all good things come to those
Who wait :)
Bon Voyage -
Does anyone have a copy of the kosher menu on the QM2? How would it work regarding breakfast and lunch as well as the evening meal?
Any help would be appreciated.
There is no published menu at servings in the dinning rooms
You can make arrangements before or on board
There is kosher food that is frozen , and there may be a rabbi
On board
You can have all your meals kosher on the QM2

http://www.smh.com.au/travel/the-cruise-director-the-queen-mary-2-20140227-33jwa.html
I love reading travel articles, especially ones about Cunard. However, I must say I am rather disappointed with a recent commentary on the Cunard Queens that appeared in Australia's Sydney Morning Herald.
The writer commented on the themed nights in what I would consider an inaccurate way. She used the phrase "to further complicate matters" after commenting on formal night etiquette. I felt that this implied that Cunard dress codes were difficult to comprehend and rather strict.
While I have no issue about strict dress codes (I prefer them), I really disagree that dressing for dinner on Cunard ships is 'complicated'. There is no obligation to attend theme nights, or to pack costumes - yet I feel the author is suggesting it is mandatory by the way the article is written.
Furthermore, she recommends Cunard to the senior citizen crowd. I found my Cunard experience to be a real mix of ages.
While I'm aware I'm unlikely to avoid sparking another dress code thread, my main question is this:
Do you think travel articles such as the one above are damaging to Cunard's plans to diversify its passenger base?
The World Cruise of Queen Elizabeth
Does attract an older crowd
That's because who else has the time
And $$$ to cruise for 2 or 3 months ?
I did an 8 day transatlantic on the QE
And it was on the last leg of the world cruise
Back to Uk
The passengers who boarded in NY
We're very diverse . Younger , Gays,
Singles , other nationals than the UK
The world cruise clientele is older
And better still, after Fremantle it will be Adelaide - my home port and where I'll be embarking on Monday.
Fantastic! Exciting. :)
Bon Voyage.
Look forward to hear your reviews , -
On her way to Fremantle.
Very nice! -
The S/S Queen Elizabeth received 4.0
Rating on CC Awards for best Cruise Ship
The RMS QUEEN MARY 2 got 4.2
Where is the QM2? -
I am enjoying your review, Sarah, and many others are, too.
Ignore the moaners! Unfortunately, some Brits can be SO pompous and condescending - as well as being downright rude.
For a youngster who has many other things to occupy her time (like studying) I think you are doing a grand job! I am very impressed by your photos. I wish I could manage to work out how to upload some.
Keep up the good work![/
That's not nice .you are a very poor example for a student to talk negatively about a nation
Of great people !!!
And yes she should be spending her time writing
A term paper and studying than appeasing your
Appetite !!!!!
Shame shame

I will ditto Salacia about this Cruise
I never went ashore in Boston
I sat by the pool and had wine and lunch. Boston was
Hot and Boston was very Crowded
The fireworks were far off in the distance
I thought QE was great last year for Trans Canal, San Pedro-NY
Loved the Grills al fresco dining deck and Verandah is far superior to Todd English. I believe they are booting Todd out of Queen Vic and hopefully QM2 will follow suit
The S/S Queen Elizabeth is A cruise ship. Perfect for your cruise
Around the Panama . The same class as the S/S Breakaway (NCL)
You can have Al Fresco dining on any cruise ship in warm weather
The S/S Breakaway has a whole deck for AL Fresco dinning.
I wouldn't try it on the QM2 transatlantic .
The Verandah was very nice, was open only 4 transatlantic days
The food was a la carte . There is a small bar
No music. It looks like the princess or queens
Grille on the RMS QM2
Todd English restaurant is very elegant ,
A change from the Britannia & Grills
The RMS Queen Mary 2 is an Ocean Liner!:) -
Flying via Icelandair to Paris for a couple then the chunnel to London for a couple and Cunard xfer from St Pancras to S'hampton on sail date
Great trip . Paris too! Still haven't tried
The Chunnel , which is a fast and easy way between
Paris & London, as you know
Excellent :)

We are on board QM2 for the official 10 year anniversary Westbound TA to Brooklyn on 9 May.
All three Queens will be there that day and leave together with fireworks for sailaway
Very nice. Sailing from Southampton with
The 2 other Queens is exciting. The QM2
Will be in front.
So you will be flying over to UK and
Sail back?
-
It's a celebration for the 10th anniversary.
Oh yes , you are right. There will be
Lots of celebrations in 2014
Just received the QM2 Transatlantic
Schedule for summer.
P.S. I did an eastbound transatlantic
On S/S Queen Elizabeth in 2013
But it was missing something.:(
It's not the RMS Queen Mary 2
-
LOL
Well, I guess the photo on the Cunard facebook page solves the mystery: they were setting up for this lovely group photo.
Hi Salacia
Does anyone know the significance of
This photo?
-
No I can't.....I also can't believe how long it took to get them all assembled. I would think "Everyone on deck at 10am sharp" might have been a better option. ;)
Yes , very true .
I'm sure the dogs are fine!!!
They couldn't be in a better dog friendly place.:)
And maybe we could be at a better place :). On board the QM2
-
Not sure about that but it is a cruise port served by many mainline ships including Seabourn. How is this for a rumour: QE2 sold to Ukraine to become a Ukrainian cruise liner? The Ukrainians tell Mickey to stick his three or four times removed contract in his ear.:D:D
Do you read the news or Internet ?
There is a Revolution in the Ukraine . Not a place
For a cruise ship.
-
Yes, they are beautiful. The pet handler is with them so not sure if they are service dogs, but they could be. You'd think they'd be wearing their Cunard capes for such an important picture. :)
I wonder how long it took them all to assemble......the dogs look pooped.
From what I heard, Australia is in HEAT WAVE
Read the thread , Where is QM2.
These lab dogs don't like the heat.
The bow deck must be boiling. Can you
Imagine if these labs wore a coat?::eek:
-
The dogs could be mascots or service dogs.
The QM2 has the facilities for dogs and cats.
The picture of everyone on the bow is
Great. I see Paul (social director) the picture.
He always tries to encourage me to take the
World Cruise.;). Maybe

I've yet to experience summer in NY but I gather they are extremely humid and uncomfortable.
I Love NY - hoping to drag the family there again next year - but will be November.
Our summer has been wicked - since January, we've had 14 days over 42 degrees centigrade (that's 108 for you lot!) and in a row, had six days at that temperature. Our hottest summer ever. Then less than a week later (Thursday last week), had our wettest day in forty years. But it is much cooler now as of last week.
Queen Mary2 is due in Adelaide in just under 3 weeks. Adelaide will now be beautiful and green because of that very rainy day. So people going to the Barossa Valley will have a wonderful day. I noticed that this shore excursion is now on a waitlist - not bad for 3 weeks out. It is a really popular excursion.
The world is going through changes. The weather
Is so extreme.
Great. Come to New York , maybe do a transatlantic on the QM2 one day.
Well you have a great trip coming up.:)
-
Hey, us Aussies don't even think about going for a swim unless its around 30. 25 is cold down here for summer. :p
Hey , us NEW YORKERS have NEW YORK SUMMERS
That go up to 100f and with heat waves for days
But we resolve and I am in the pool of the QM2
At any temperature:p
-
QM2 is in Melbourne today on an absolutely perfect day, 25 degrees with lots of sun.
Hope everyone on board has a lovely day visiting our city.
Great!! I hope everyone gets in the pool.
That's were I would be:)
-
Yes. Boards were down all day and night here in Australia so unable to post.
Yes. They were also down in New York

Merchant ships registered in British Commonwealth and Overseas Territories all fly the "undefaced" Red Ensign per the Merchant Shipping Act of 1995. So she still flies the same flag as she did before her registry was changed from Southampton to Hamilton. (Payne's new book has it wrong!) This keeps coming up on the Wikipedia entry for QM2 where some well meaning person tries to change her flag to Bermuda.
Thank you, good point.
Very interesting that Argentina would go after a Luxury Cruise Ship
-
Does the QM2 fly the British Flag?
I know it flys the ensign flag of Bermuda
Where Cunard is registered.
-
If I thought "favorable winds" determined QM2's schedule, I would be a little hesitant. Considering she crosses the Atlantic and arrives to the minute on schedule.....I have my doubts. :D
The last transatlantic vessel that used favorable
Winds to sail Transatlantic was the MAYFLOWER .
Where is QM2?
in Cunard Line
Posted
Sunny and warm.

I'm sure your enjoying the QM2. Rotterdam was similar
In that the Qm2 was too big to sail all the way
Into the port. We can see the S/S Rotterdam
Berthed way down , but is much smaller.
Whats your next port?
