  1. Been on both. Conquest is better IMHO. Ship layout and decor superior on Conquest. Elevators on Dream are a nightmare. 10 forward. 4 midship. During busy times, dinner etc, to go up, you have to go down first or vise versa, depending on the time and where everyone is trying go. Elevators always full. Main show room design is a joke. Traffic flow in the buffet is horrible.

  2. My wife and I were married on the Celebration 19 years ago. Therefore our experiences were most likely different than what you are likely to encounter now.

Carry on all wedding clothes. Our cabin was available for changing. Ceremony was nice but short. We had several options how the ceremony was to be conducted, talk with preacher or person officiating and choose what you like/want. Prerecorded music was OK. Flowers provided by Carnival were beautiful. At the reception in one of the lounges we had lots of goodies, a very nice cake. Champagne and etched glasses that we got to keep. The waiters were same as we had in the dining room. Ship's photographer took lots of pictures. You can buy or not buy whatever you want. Our wedding party were allowed on the ship before any other passengers were allowed on board.

We are both seniors and 2nd marriage. We both have good memories of our wedding and reception and thought it was well worth the cost. Any specific questions?

  3. For those who have used the digital version of the Navigator on board...I haven't seen as much written about it and how easy it is to use.

I did read that you do not need an internet package to use it...does this mean that if you DO have internet minutes, using the digital navigator won't 'cost' you minutes?

Yes, using Navigator will NOT cost you minutes. Logging on to internet is separate from using Navigator.

As a side note.... on the Amsterdam the wifi signal was very weak in my cabin. After logging on the I lost the connection and could not sign out. Finally I left cabin and went to an area with a good strong signal and signed off. Lost several minutes. Changed cabins and had no more problems.

  4. The bigger downside to me would be the confusion in keeping track of other stateroom charges and the final bill. The additional cruise days (for each $300 spent) would also not necessarily be split equitably. Too much to think about, IMO. [emoji848]Gives me a headache.

You can have separate accounts. No problem.

  5. I believe the direction of the waves in relation to your course is a major factor in movement of the ship

You are correct. If you have a good Captain' date=' he will set a course that will lessen wave impact on the ship. Stabilizers help control roll but pitch can be bad sometimes.

  6. And even if you get a an older, dry patty or something, all you have to do is go back and ask for a nice, juicy fresh one. It's not like it would cost you anything extra.

There is no such thing as a 'juicy' hamburger at Guy's. They are all overcooked. When you start with an 1/8" thick, 2 oz patty, the outcome is not in doubt. Even Crystal's is better. Save your time, go stand in a different line.

  7. When I was on the Oosterdam last fall, we were only ship in port at the time and some guy was flying a drone from the pier alongside the ship. This was inside the security area. He was not wearing a ship name tag. I can only assume he was a passenger.

  8. We just booked a lanai cabin (#3376) on the Rotterdam for the 14 day Circle Caribbean cruise of March 11, 2018. I have checked cabin pictures on that site that features cabin pictures, and I can't see where a mini-fridge would fit under the desk. Question.... is there a mini-fridge in all lanai cabins on the Rotterdam ? Actually, I can't see HAL passing up another source of revenue, so it must be there, I just can't find it in the pictures.

Also, the Nov. drydock was supposed to install the large, flat-screen TV's that have on-demand movies, in cabins. After drydock, are the new 48" TV's in the lanai cabins, or just the Vista Suites and up ? Or do I need to bring my own DVD's with an HDMI cable to feed my laptop into the small flat-screen TV over near the desk ?

My wife and I are booked in 3376 for the TA leaving Tampa on 15 April. Hope you like the cabin and can report on same after your cruise. Interested in knowing most of the same things you are concerned with in the cabin. Fridge? TV? 110v AC outlets? Reserved chairs on 'our balcony'. Room steward service, name would be nice. Possible problems, noise etc. Any info will be appreciated.

    Jim
