Sailing on Sunday, 9/1 on the Escape out of NYC -
1) Does anyone know what deck Embarkation is on? I thought it was 7 but now am not sure.
2) Does the liquor store on board sell Sheridan liquor? I purchased some on my last cruise but don't know if they still sell it.
TIA!

My husband and I did a 14 day TA in April of 2016. I gotta say, towards the end it was getting a little rough. I was happy to reach Denmark and stay in a house with a yard! I wouldn't trade the experience for anything though! Not sure I could do anything longer than 14 days!
Have fun!

Agree that those of us (me included) who book at times when potentially bad weather could occur, the risks are known. I'm sailing this Sunday. I knew when I booked it was going to be the heart of the hurricane season. I also saved about 1/3 to 1/2 of the normal fare if I had sailed during high season.
This storm is, as they say, really unpredictable. I heard one weather person state that it's even confounding all the storm models he's run in simulation.
BTW, I called NCL, too. They said they're getting lots of calls, but they really don't know how the storm will turn out. They're giving you the same information as is available to all of us. Tomorrow, that information will have likely changed.
You'll (we'll) be sailing somewhere. I know I'm sailing westward...away from the storm. So, not too worried except for any delays of the ship docking and then disembarking again out of Miami.
If I were sailing the Eastern Caribbean? I'd probably expect a change of itinerary.
graphicguy - are you on my 9/1 sailing to Bermuda??
-
I've been to Bermuda 3 times and have found it to be a very safe place. If you search Trip Advisor you can find all sorts of tours with reviews on each. I just booked a snorkel tour there.

Depends on the ship and the port.
Yeah, I guess that would have been helpful! LOL

Title says it all...what deck do we board the ship on?
TIA!

Yesterday I did a mock booking and it showed my 9/1 cruise as everything except Haven sold out.
This afternoon I checked again and it's now showing Inside, Mini-Suite and Haven available...
Does this mean they're upgrading folks?
I haven't heard anything yet, but still have another 12 days to go.

Escape and Summit are docked at the Dockyard. Insignia is docked at St. George’s. Got to watch Insignia going thru the cut early this morning.
The ferry Bermudian has just docked at the Ferry Terminal at the Dockyard. Also now entering is the ferry Cecil Smith. The Bermudian is a very large ferry. I don’t think anyone has to worry about capacity.
I got to travel through the cut on the NCL Majesty back in 2007. Does the ferry go through the cut as well??

So if Oceanview, Spa and Mini-Suites are sold out, does that mean my chance for having my bid accepted (inside to spa, balcony & oceanview) is non-existent?

Everyone raves about the pretzil rolls at the buffet. I am not a lover of them.
I'm with you! Every time I've had one they've been cold and/or hard/stale. Not a fan.

Le Bistro - mushroom soup, escargot
O'Sheehan's - love their wings
When we took our first cruise ('07) folks here recommended the cold soups. I had one each day of the cruise and there was only one that I didn't enjoy -- our last cruise didn't have any cold soups and I miss them!
Definitely the crepes! Eggs Benny, I seem to remember enjoying the hash at O'Sheehan's for breakfast...And make sure you hit the MDR for lunch on embarkation day -- so much nicer than fighting the crowds at the buffet! (That was one of the best tips I ever got on CC!)
Have fun!

I did a mock booking and found previously "sold out" inside cabins now available...
Does that mean they've started the upgrade process? Or am I just wishful thinking?

I am 48hrs out and still no email re upgrade?
Is it 48hrs to sail time ?
thanks
Have you gone on the NCL site and checked your messages there? I didn't get an upgrade email but it was in my NCL messages.
Good luck!

Oh trust me...you'll find a way to spend it. 🤣
...new sandals after you go down flailing in front of witnesses near the pool because your current sandals apparently had no traction,...
My very first cruise I was wearing a pair of crocs walking thru the pool deck and the same thing happened to me!

I have the drink package which has been paid for and pre-paid my gratuities...what would I use an OBC for? Just can't figure out what I would spend $ on when everything is taken care of.
Thoughts??

You can bid on each one (mine showed three choices). They let you know anytime up to 48 hours prior to sailing.

Sorry to worry about another drink package question, but this is our first time with it and I am the one doing all the planning. When I booked Balcony room for the 3 of us (all way over 21 years old), only the first 2 received the perk free unlimited drinks. I was told that the 3rd person doesn't have to get one by the NCL rep doing the booking. But now as I am reading about the drink package on NCL site it said all in room have to have package. Anyone out there have 1st hand experience with this and know which it is?
Thanks in advance for help.
If pax 1 gets the drink package, pax 2 has to get it also. Pax 3 and 4 do NOT have to get it.

If your bid is declined, do you get an opportunity to bid again or are you done?
TIA

I know I'm not allowed to mention specific TAs per the rules. For my two cruises I used a large brick and mortar TA and was never invited to participate in upgrades. This time I booked through Casinos at sea as I got a discount, does the discount/CaS booking bar me from participating as well?
For future cruises, are people booking ordinarily through ncl.com eligible for the bidding or must you work with only specific (I know you can't tell me which) TAs?
Thank you if anyone knows.
I booked through a TA and got the upgrade email.

This is my first time using the bidding option. I'm booked on the Escape 9/1. We booked inside cabins (and we're fine with that). One of the reasons we did inside is we just want to be on the cruise, the room is an afterthought...that being said, we bid on a balcony and a spa balcony (I didn't bother with an ocean view...should I???)
I bid pretty low ($75 for balcony and &125 for spa balcony), has anyone been successful with a low bid for either of those?? Right now the insides are sold out with the exception of sailaway and GTY IF.
TIA

We did the martini tasting two times and loved it! Both times we did it we "shared" which they were okay with (there's no way I could have had 5 full size martinis!). The first one was full size, the second one was slightly smaller than full size but both were a lot of fun and informational! I think we did a margarita tasting, but don't really remember!

I think it's pretty great -- it's different and started a discussion. Gotta love art that makes you think!
