I've booked four tours with Italy tour sharing for our upcoming cruises. Their tours are a bit different than the generic ones I've seen with other companies and they are very easy to work with

A travel agent, through a company called travel bound (based in Great Britain I believe)

I just booked transfers from the train station to the ship for 9.00 US pp for 6 of us; I'm a happy girl! Just one more transfer to buy, from Athens port to the airport there.

On the Journey in March, announcements were made that you could sign up at guest relations for tours of the galley, and I think of the bridge too, on several days during the cruise. We didn't do them but it sounded like they were complimentary

If you haven't joined your roll call, please do. We have met the most wonderful people from our roll call and it made our cruise so special

Our neighbors used to live in Houston; they're sailing on the Quest with us next month. It'll be interesting to see what they think about the food

Taxis in Nice are very expensive so an Uber may be an option. On a positive note (assuming we are embarking in Nice) the station is not far from the port.
I looked up a taxi company on line and yes, very expensive!! I read about the tram and I guess it goes from the train station to the top of the port; is it walkable from Garibaldi stop to the pier?

Laurie, I am pretty sure it's Villefranche-Sur-Mer. We called Azamara and asked awhile back.
Just checked cruise docs, which I should have done to begin with, and it is port of Nice.

Thank you for the quick replies!
Any suggestions for transportation from the train station? I assume there will be taxis

I'm trying to figure our where the Quest will be docking for our May and June cruises out of Nice; I thought it was supposed to be at the Nice port, but what I've seen on a couple cruise tracking websites it's Villefranche. I need to find a transfer from Gare Nice ville to the ship for 6 people...

Hi. We haven't done tour sharing before, but are considering it now with italytoursharing.com. My concern is, what happens if you join a tour group set up for 8, but it either doesn't get filled or people back out. Is the final price per person determined by how many show up on the day? If a family or group of 4 cancel, the costs could go up dramatically.
Your tour will happen without it being filled up to 8; you will just pay for the number of people that do go

I would agree, but only if we know if the staff member took away the drinks away from everyone in that area, not just the OP.
It may well be that the other guests with drinks weren't in the hot tub, just sitting at the edge of the pool. Drinks near the pool (in plastic not glass) I don't believe are a problem...

This may be a case where a TA who does a lot of business with Azamara can help you -- they can get rules "bent" because of their volume of bookings.
It may also have to do with who your TA speaks to; they aren't consistent

we'll be in Nice for turn-around day; we're in port 6am-8pm. We'd like to do a tour that day but have no idea when we need to be back on the ship. Any ideas/suggestions? I assume we'll need to be back for the lifeboat drill

We used a website called nz.jayride.com and au.jayride.com. They offer rates from several companies that do private and shared transfers. Excellent rates for both countries. We went with a private transfer and it was only about 50.00 in Auckland; we split a private van transfer in Sydney and it ended up costing about 25.00 pp.

It depends on what the new promotion is, and whether you are staying in the same category or upgrading to a higher category stateroom. If the promotion states it's for new bookings only you would have to cancel and be charged and then rebook at the new rate.
-
That's correct; this applies to US and Canadian guests

If you booked from the USA and haven't made your final payment you may be able to save money by cancelling ( losing your deposit) and re-booking. As the British deposit is higher it's rarely worth it for us.

You won't lose your entire deposit if you cancel and rebook, just 50.00 pp up to 121 days out, which is up to final payment
Using OBC to pay for shore excursions in advance of the cruise?
in Azamara
Posted
As of I believe March 1st, OBC will now be for anything, not just shore excursions
