  1. Captain Johannes told me..." if you're going to do both, do Alaska first". I've heard Norway is like Alaska on steroids.

While I'm happy Azamara is finally doing Alaska, I'm disappointed because we finally booked Alaska on X for this June. I would have loved to experience that destination on Azamara, but we do have a large aft cabin, which will be nice. Norwegian Fjords remain on our bucket list.

nothing says you can't cruise Alaska twice! I'm sure it would be a far different experience with Azamara ;)

  2. We always used to find a wine that we liked, be it that day's or a previous offering. Hopefully, it will still be the same.

We are just off the Journey, Auckland-Sydney; we found only three wines that we liked the entire cruise, but most of the staff was happy to find the past offerings that we liked and poured them for us.

  3. That's an interesting point about crew assuming passengers are frequent Azamara cruisers and familiar with the product. I suppose it's because so many of us are.

Glad you had a good time on your first Azamara cruise. Maybe you will become a repeat passenger too. :)

I heard this from a first time Azamara guest also, on the cruise we just returned from.

  4. We are booked on the ship's excursion to Carcassonne. After reading this thread and others where LD's were cancelled late, I decided to show some interest to the powers that be in Miami and get at least two of us on the trip. It doesn't address the OBC for LD's that I would prefer to use, but I'll worry about that as it gets closer. I don't see a land trip to that part of the world in my future, so this may be our only chance to see Carcassonne.

At least if the tour gets cancelled, I have a Plan B for Perpignan or Collioure.

    Cheryl

What Ships excursion to Carcassonne is that? When are you sailing? We don't have one on this sailing

  5. Larry, thank you for taking the time to reply to this personally!

I think that the biggest issue many guests onboard both cruises is that the Journey was to be moved to the OCT on the 21st to overnight there; there aren't any other cruise ships in port at that time or on the 22nd, the port showed the Journey as docking there and has since changed that. I think we all can agree that it is no fault of Azamara, but it is still a big disappointment.

  6. Good call, Phil.

I just got word from my travel agent.

The Azamara Quest, November 20, 2017 voyage will be re-deployed to two shorter voyages that will include overnights in Havana, Cuba. Both are Miami round trip. The first cruise is 7 days and goes to Key West and Cozumel in addition to Havana. The second cruise is only 4 days and has a day at sea and the overnight in Cuba.

I'm not thrilled with my options.

On the plus side, since you will now be doing a back to back, you should be eligible for OBC
