  1. Thank you Pushpit for your kind reply. That's me all over, asking impossible questions lol plus being a Brit most of us are obsessed with the weather. As I have done the S/H, NY Caribbean and return trip quite often I was intrigued to know how the weather would be different in taking a more southerly route. Once again, I thank you for taking the time out of your day to answer my question. Kindest regards, Jennie.
  2. Thank you Poole Boy for responding to my question. I agree I have crossed the Atlantic quite a few times on the QM2 (S/H, NY, Caribbean and return) and its a roll of the dice on what type of weather we would have. I was just interested in if taking a more southerly route one could expect better weather. Once again thank you for taking the time out of your day to respond and by the way its 11 months till the trip and not 2 years lol. Kind regards, Jennie
  3. Good Afternoon, QM2 has a sailing from 11 Jan 25 to 15 Feb 25, sailing from Southampton to the Caribbean via Tenerife and then on it's return via Madeira. It takes approx 5 days to travel from S/H to Tenerife. My question is to those who have travelled this route or have knowledge of the sea conditions and expected weather conditions for the next 6 days (after Tenerife) to get to the port at Grenada. Regards, Jennie.

  5. Yes, I have always booked the Cunard Fare and chosen my cabin. I read your post earlier about the upgrade from KC to an Inside. Thank you for all your posts and advice about travelling Solo. I am an avid reader of this forum. Kindest regards Jennie
  6. Just checked, yes I did. I booked it last December (22) but not going till Nov 24, it still seems such a long way off though. Would have loved to have another SB, toyed with the idea of an Inside but for the length of time onboard was a bit worried. Lucky you for your 3 upcoming trips, I'm jealous lol. As I live in the North (just south of Scotland) it takes a good 8 hours coach trip each way to S'hampton so that's why I go for longer with a couple of years in-between trips.
  7. Thank you so much, I should have said , yes its QM2. I have always had a sheltered balcony (and company) on my previous holidays on QM2 so this will be a first for me. From what I have seen these cabins look wonderful.
  8. Which is the 'one'? please , I have 3002 booked for an upcoming 27 Nighter. Thanks
  9. Unfortunately no, but I was disappointed when I received my email a while ago.
  10. Thankyou so much x..... I've been a few times to NY and did the shuttle once before and wizzed around here and there but unfortunately cannot walk so far now, so I am a bit limited. I would like to try a nice eating place for lunch (within close proximity of Macys), any suggestions anyone?
  11. Thanks for the info.... How much is the shuttle to Macys, Herald Square ?
  12. Thank you for this information , it will be the first time I have had to use this service so was unsure what I had to do.
  13. Question Please - I have just completed and emailed my Assistance Form where unfortunately I will require assistance embarking at Southampton, I am aware that I will need to get into the terminal under my own steam. What is the procedure? will I receive further guidance via email from Cunard or just present myself upon arrival . TIA Jennie
  14. Thank you everyone for your suggestions, all were very helpful. I will check everything out on google maps. I think I will most probably go for the Brooklyn visit on my first In transit Day and then decide after what I want to do on the second. Once again many thanks for all your help.
  15. @GaryEssex I am so glad you asked this question regarding the 1 Day(in transit) in New York as I have 2 of them coming up in late 2024, and was wondering what I may do. I am doing the same trip as I have done a couple of times before (27 nts) which means I have 2 of these days to fill. My mobility is now not as good as it was so (plus I will be a solo traveller this time) I do not think I will be able to cross on the ferry which would have been interesting to do or just wander the streets around Macys. I too am at a loss at what I can do. I do not think I want to do the 911 Tour. After reading @rakkor blog (thankyou) about Brooklyn (minus the actual walking tour lol) I thought perhaps Brooklyn would be interesting to visit for a few hours, have a coffee/lunch. Have any others spent a few hours in Brooklyn and how would I get there?. I live in the far North West of England so have never used an Uber there are only Taxis around here. Any Ideas from anyone, all options are welcome. Kindest Regard Jennie
  16. On my last crossing (Nov 2017 - 27 nights), I sometimes wanted a change from the MDR and ate in the Kings Court in the evening. I spoke to the young lady who prepared the Pizza's and asked if they do any with anchovies. She said she didn't have any that evening but she would make sure she had some the next evening. The next evening I went along and ordered exactly what I wanted, it was a whole pizza and not slices and was delicious. Whilst cooking I got a nice salad to accompany it. I hope they will do the same in Nov 24.
  17. Thank you IB2 for this further information re location, it is so helpful. I had realised already regarding the laundry situation but that's no problem. My previous stays have always been in a Sheltered Balcony on deck 4 (travelled with friends) but this time it will just be me. I've always liked a large dinner table (late fixed) so hopefully I will have some good tablemates. Through reading other questions am I right in assuming that now they have Anytime Dining, all fixed time dining is downstairs in the Main Dining Room? Many Thanks Jennie.
  18. A very big thank you to every one who helped with my questions, I really appreciate it. The cabin looks lovely and the location seems OK to find easily. It is such a shame that the coffee card is not available. As I will be on board for 27 nights I will look at the drinks packages later and decide if its suitable for me. Once again THANK YOU to everyone. Kindest Regards Jennie x
  19. Good Evening .... Its been 5 years since I last travelled on QM2 and have a couple of questions. I have booked one of the Single Ocean View Cabins on Deck 3 for my future trip, will it have a single bed or still a kingsize? is it easy to initially find? and finally previously I was able to buy a Card for coffee's at Sir Samuels is this still available? Looking forward to hearing back from you. Jennie
