Once a cruise I like to get a massage and so tonight after dinner is my 100min hot stone. They always do wonderfully and then they try and upsell you and just ruin the entire experience and yet I still do it once a cruise.

DH often gets massages. On the form that you fill out beforehand, he always writes "I am NOT interested in purchasing any products after my massage, please DON'T ask." It generally works

  2. No experience in trying it, but they may let it on. One other option is the type of roll-up vacuum bag, it has a one-way valve on it, that when you roll the item up, the air is pushed out and can't easily come back in.

I wonder how common this room swapping alcoholism is and when/if/how Carnival is going to put a stop to it.

There are many reasons to book people in separate cabins other than just purchasing Cheers. We often do it when traveling with family, depending on who has the better VIFP offer. Like I said, Carnival could care less where you actually sleep at night.

  4. I've done it with all adults in both cabins. I booked my friend and myself in one cabin to get the drink package, and put DH and the friends wife in the other cabin without the package. I did it also because DH and I are both Diamond, so I could check us all in together. Went to the guest services desk with DH (need 1 person from each cabin to be present) and got a spare key to both rooms. The issue a color different than your regular S&S card, so it's easier to keep track of. Key just opens the room, nothing else. Carnival doesn't care where you sleep.

  5. Yes, we've done this for DH, (low sodium). On embarkation, we went to the spot where  you can meet with the Maitre'D, and they had us choose from a couple of options available that evening. That evening our waiter brought DH the dinner menu for tomorrow and let him order from a much wider selection, because when they know in advance how many special meals they need, they can create enough 'batches'. He was also able to pre-order for Sea Day Brunch, or any breakfast in MDR the night before. It worked out well.

ETA: He as able to order even the soup as low-sodium. We tested it because I ordered the regular version that night, and we could really tell the difference between the two minestrone versions.

I ordered $2000 worth of cards from Allstate in the last 2 months.  I don’t understand the advantage of e cards.  Can you explain please?

We're leaving Friday on a cruise and if they were e-cards I'd order them now. I wanted to know the mailing time on the regular cards so I can plan that they don't try and deliver them until we get back.

We have a joint stock account - but when purchased the Carnival stock document has my husbands name on it (same last name) - I am cruising solo - will I need to have my name on that document?  Will they accept it with his?  I will need to call bank/stock company to see if and how we can add/change names if not allowed?

We have a joint stock account, but the page where the actual number of carnival stocks are owned just has my husband's name on that page. I just create a PDF containing page 1 (which shows it's a joint account) and page 3 (listing the number of stocks owned), make sure the Account numbers on both pages are blanked out, and upload that into the email with the booking numbers I want to have the credit applied to. That should work for your purposes.

We have 200 shares in our joint account, but with this method, I have been able to get credit for two cabins on the same cruise, as long as my name is attached to one booking number, and my husband's to the other one. I just list them separately in the email, with the appropriate booking numbers. Easy-peasy!

Just submitted mine for a November cruise this fall.  Got a response back stating" they had received my email and are happy to look into my inquiry and get back as soon as they can".  So okay that sounds normal, then it says "due to increase in inquiries their response time will take longer than normal. We will process your requests as rapidly as possible but keep in mind this may happen as late as the week prior to sailing". 😱  "Please do not submit any duplicate requests."  Is this the normal message going out now for stockholder requests.  It has been 2 years since sailing with Carnival, but don't remember that kind of message before. Anyone else see this before??

I just checked the auto responses I've gotten from our last couple of cruises. This new response language you posted was included in one of my requests from last December; the response from June of 2021 did NOT include the message that it "might happen as late as a week prior to sailing".

I sent one request in on March 16, and got the same response about long wait time, but still got the notice that the credit has been applied 5 days later.

  9. Generally speaking, all of the items listed near the top of the daily offerings are one-time only. There is a section with 4 Every Day offerings, but some of them do change. I think there is Roasted chicken and Salmon available each day, and a strip-loin steak, but not sure of the 4th item, and those may rotate a bit. The Steakhouse Selections that are offered there for an upcharge are offered every day.

Carnival Melting cake, cheese plate, fruit plate and ice creams are available every day (and the banana split on the kids menu) but the other deserts change daily.

Cruised in Feb and have a Vegas trip planned so wasn't really thinking about another cruise due to husband's limited vacation time.

Only way would be a Labor Day timed cruise to have that extra day off. Came across an Alaskan cruise that fits but it would be in late August-early Sept.

I know nothing about cruising Alaska especially at that time so put it on hold while I quickly try to research and decide.

Would be in a spa cabin, we had the spa passes on the Dream and loved spending time every day in the thermal suites.

Depends on the ship for the Spa pass. We don’t find it valuable if the spa doesn’t have a thalassotherapy pool
