  1. Hi all,

Good to be back booking cruise dates again. Never been on the Royal Princess, but have tried most of the Princess ships before,  so this is a first for the wife and I. We have a Mini Suite on Baja Deck, Mid ship. So what I would like to know is what are these cabins like compared to the say, Ruby, Diamond, Emerald, etc.

What size balconies do they have, extended, half extended or just the normal size as like the Sun and Sea Princess.

    Thank you

So should one book then switch off until final payment  to avoid disappointment.....

Or wait and see what the product is like ???

Why the sudden interest you ask.......  well I happen to log onto Princess Site  and found extra credits on FCC

then one thought... better use them i will lose them......   yes the dangled carrot.....

Well we are thinking of late October 2021 - 30th October - to NZ on Emerald princess. Is that the ship you were thinking of?

This is the link to the packages on the Princess website, in case you haven't already seen it.https://www.princess.com/learn/cruise-gifts-celebrations/romance/wedding-cruises/

We saw a bit of a vow renewal on Golden once, up in the Sanctuary. It looked like they did a nice job with flowers etc.

The Sanctuary on Royal would be a gorgeous place for a ceremony. Beautiful views over the bow of the ship, and it's a nice layout.

    Thanks for your feedback.

I knew all those Qantas sleeping masks we have collected over the years would come in handy some time!!!   It's as useless as the proverbial "Tits on a Bull" - but it's a "mask" !!!!

Those masks look like British Airways style. Qantas had a different style. But both could come in handy.

We should have the 21-22 season released from Royal Caribbean soon as long as they don’t go bankrupt.

Its been speculated that quantum will replace voyager if it goes to Los Angeles.

Voyager has had bookings in LA from August 2021 but where removed . There’s still speculation??
Quantam has bookings that mirror ovation in Alaska for the 2021 Alaska season .Quantum may follow back to Sydney.

So I’m expecting to see 2 quantum class ships, ovation and quantum of the seas home based in Sydney for the 21-22 season .

    Any thoughts?

I hope you are right. Would like to try them and compare Princess. Although I have Elite  status with Princess and am quite loyal to them.

Okay, although the current state of cruising is up in the air; I would like to move forward.

I'm looking for local knowledge on the land down under.

I don't want to get specific in the "topic" but will throw out questions within the thread. Also I will be happy to answer any questions you may have about Canada. Keep in mind that like Australia Canada is a vast country and I probably don't know your buddy Bruce in Moose Jaw. But I do have pretty good knowledge of my home Province of BC.

I look forward to gaining local knowledge from you and passing on local knowledge of my part of the world.

First stop Auckland we have 2 days before the cruise what is not to be missed in Auckland?

If you come . Welcome to Australia and New Zealand. New Zealand is a very nice place to visit. Have been there a number of times. But you will need a lot of time to truly do a good visit.

When an effective vaccine does become available there will be no need to worry about the anti vaxers . We will all be protected and able to fight off the virus . Life will return to normal but the virus will still be around looking for a home and it won’t take very long until there  won’t be any anti vaxers left.

No Vax . . . No Cruise. we do not want the non-vaxers with us on a cruise.

  8. I saw the Four Corners show on the Ruby Princess and Diamond Princess last night, Monday 25th May. All I can say that it was one sided with all the  main storey about a woman who firstly  developed flu-like systems, refused yo go to the doctors because she said "they charge like wounded bulls" and then went on to say everything else about her cruise was bad. I could think really that that woman because she did not go to the doctors on the ship and was later found to have the virus but eventually got over it, could have caused the other people on the ship to be infected. She even hoped that they would take the Ruby Princess out into the ocean and sink it. I would really like to know how many cruises she has taken to be an expert on these matters. She said she would never cruise again . . . good riddance, we do not want her in our cruising family.

  9. For the info of all those that are wondering about Kangaroo Island and if it would be open to cruise ship after their recent fires . . . . the answer is YES.

Her is an article that I copied from Facebook today, Sunday 19th January, 2020.

Weeks after bushfires tore through most of Kangaroo Island a cruise ship has arrived with thousands of tourists keen to support the local community. Guests came ashore and took part in tours by local operators while others visited market stalls established by locals. Many made donations to bushfire appeal efforts. The SA Premier, Steven Marshall said “It is our hope that this visit by Sun Princess and her guests will serve to boost morale and send a message to the community that their lives are getting back to normal.”

  10. I am sorry to everyone, but the lack of responses to having a Meet & Greet on board this cruise is very disheartening. I have had around 15 "possibles" but only 1 confirmed with the info that I required . . . so accordingly I will not be organising a Meet & Greet on the Sun Princess, 10th Mach 2020 Southern Australia Explorer.

    Please enjoy your cruise

  11. So far the response to my post of a Meet & Greet has been very dismal. I only have a couple of replies that have supplied the full info that is required. If nothing more comes to light then forget about the Meet & Greet. Earlier I posted what was required and that is what I want to get the ball rolling.

If you want a Meet & Greet then send the particulars.

    Thanks

    Sailaway John

  13. Has anyone done the cruise from Fremantle to Sydney or reverse and visited the town of Hahndorf on an excursion?

The reason for asking is that both wife and I will be doing this cruise come March next year and was wondering on the ship tour how long do they give you to explore Hahndorf?

The rest of the tour sounds OK but time in Hahndorf is important to us . . . The tour name is "Hanhdorf with Scenic Views".

Thanks for any info and/or help.
