  1. We have sailed all the S-class ships, and though we have thoroughly enjoyed all of them, I would say that Reflection is our favorite with Silhouette a close runner up. I, too, believe that you should choose your itinerary first, any of the S-class ships will be wonderful. :)

  2. The call center is not on the east coast however it's location in Wichita, Kansas has been getting hit pretty hard with storms also.

Yes, the recent storms are causing problems and many agents couldn't get to work at the Call center.

Imagine being short staffed... with all that is going on these days.

I would hope that anyone who has to call would keep these circumstances in mind, and be kind.

  3. Thank you! Great post.

I've been lurking quite a bit lately and especially yesterday found myself taken aback by all the negativity. Some people's expectations seem to be so high that they could be in orbit.

Looking forward to all the great things I've heard about X when we do our first cruise in Sept. ;)

Great observation, and unfortunately the root of the problem.

You will have a wonderful time in September.

We love X, and are looking forward to each one of our upcoming cruises. :)

  4. We sailed the Med on Silhouette this past November, did the TA on her in December 2012, and will be sailing her again this March. She is a beautiful ship with a wonderful crew and very entertaining Captain. No complaints here, we would not hesitate to sail her again.

  5. Hi everyone, I'm cruising on celebrity late march, eastern carribean cruise. Its my first cruise and I'm really nervous! I'm on deck ten which I know is pretty high up, and room is mid front. I'm so nervous about getting sick. Has anyone been on this ship\cruise?? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks !! :)

    Welcome to CC!

Yes, we have sailed the Eastern Caribbean with X. You should be fine. It would be nice to know which ship you are sailing. My DH has been prone to seasickness in the past, but we always book deck 12 (aft) on the Solstice class ships and he has never had a problem, even in inclement weather. I hope you will join the Roll Call for your sailing, there will be many who will be able to help you with questions about your cruise. X is a great cruise line. Relax, have fun and enjoy! :)

  6. While I'm very appreciative of the new levels & benefits, I'd love to see Celebrity consider adding a level between Elite Plus & Zenith. I'm fine with 750 points for Elite plus, but once you get there, it's seems as if you are at the bottom of the mountain, needing to make a huge climb to the top, once again.

An Horizon level would seem ideal somewhere between 1,500 and 2,000 pts or any level that would encourage cruisers to continue sailing on Celebrity beyond D+ .

It is far better to provide an intermediate reward as Arno suggests, rather than make people feel as if they are already defeated, that they will never reach the mountain top.

  7. We've stayed in both. The S2 had more drawer, hanging, and counter space. I was a little disappointed when we got our Suite GTY, and we were assigned an S1 and found out it lacked the above. I wouldn't pay the extra for the S1 unless you have the desire to be back aft, but I think there are a few S1's that are not on the ends.

On Silhouette, Equinox, Eclipse, and Solstice the S1's are only on the aft corners. Reflection also has S1's on the aft corners as well as 8 more on the forward Starboard side of the ship.

  8. On our last 2 cruises, there have been half price offers on Specality Restaurants for the first night.

If you have a Suite booking you can dine free on 2 nights.

It sounds to me, that bookings are 'pencilled in' for Suite guests.

Sorry, but that is just not true. Suite guests do not have any advantage over those booked in other cabins when it comes to restaurant reservations. Unless perhaps you are booked in the Penthouse...

  9. C-Dragons. Were you escorted as you entered the ship? Mom and I are sailing out of San Diego in April, and I am not sure what to expect when we board. We have never sailed Celebrity, much less in a Royal Suite! Very excited!

Yes, the Captain's Club hostess was waiting for us on board at the gangway entrance. Enjoy... :)

  10. There's a separate area for suites (at least in Ft. Lauderdale). Once on board the ship, you can go to Michael's Club to wait until the rooms are ready. Small amounts of food and lots of champagne. We had a royal suite on that sailing. Don't know if it applies to all categories of suites.

It applies to Royal Suites, the Penthouses, Reflection Suites, and I presume the Signature Suites as well. We have twice sailed in a Royal Suite and were escorted (both times) to Michael's Club by the Captain's Club Hostess to wait for the rooms to be ready.

  11. • There is candy on the pillow each night, but no towel animals.

I wouldn't say that is an absolute.c:) On our Adriatic cruise on Silhouette in October, we came back to our cabin on several evenings to find different towel animals (no children with us).

    • Café al Bacio only serves sweets, no sandwiches;

True. This was a change that we found out about also on our October Silhouette cruise.

  12. Hi All, has anyone recently gone on Celebrity's 11 night Eastern Mediterranean cruise from Civitavecchia (stopping in Mykonos, Santorini, Istanbul, Kusadasi, Piraeus and Napoli)? My fiance and I have booked this cruise for our honeymoon on the Reflection next October (I think this cruise was previously run on the Equinox) and we were hoping to get our hands on the daily itineraries to get an idea of which nights might be formal nights. We want to book dinners at some of the specialty restaurants in advance but don't want to book them on nights that are already formal (because I love making him dress up!). Any suggestions or links to the actual daily schedules would be awesome!

    Thanks so much!

What a wonderful way to spend your honeymoon!

Welcome to Cruise Critic. I hope you will join our Roll Call. :)
