Yes it is
15 minute walke each way + beach time: Walk from pier to Junkanoo Beach and spend a few hours there. Head back to the ship for lunch and to change
15/20 minute walk + look around time: Walk to Queen's Staircase and the Fort and maybe check out Bay street.
Walk back to ship early.
If you going to be in port like 4-6 hours you should be ok depending on looking around time you spend and beach time the kids want to spend.

I'm a BIG TIME morning person and even I wouldn't think of making any kind of business call to somebody's residence before 10:00am. :( Even with the time differences, it could've been 7:30a, 8:30a, or 9:30a at different parts of the country. And for a change that is months away?? ugh. I'm surprised they didn't just e-mail you. I was never notified for port time changes for my cruise this weekend.
It was mid-afternoon in India....

Do they ever change the assignment? I was also wondering if I can upgrade using current prices since I'm past final payment date. There are some spa balconies as well as aft that would be relatively inexpensive since prices dropped.
From what I understand...
Yes they can change you depending on the type of cabin you have...2 people in a 3+ people cabin, non-handicap in a handicap, etc..
After final payment ..no without a change fee of I think $50

what cabin did you get?
u 215

FInally.... got it assinged.
Date Booked: October 9, 2014

Yes 30 days seem to be the assignment date. We booked 30 days ago and just got your cabin which is 30 days out...

How is the parking at the Hampton Inn, as far as leaving a vehicle there, safety wise? Also how does there shuttle service work, can you reserve an early time prior to check-in? The Hampton will run about $137/nite vs Country Inn is $154/nite for same features. Thanks for the information.
First time using Hampton... The zoo at the other 2 is why. All the reviews say this is the best shuttle going & it is ocean view the other 2 are not.

Nice job....easy to update and can use drop downs to sort what you want...nice
-
We are staying at the Hampton Inn good deal on cruise and stay with hot breakfast
-
FTTF is good for getting on the ship faster, getting off faster, costumer service fast, getting to your room faster, getting your luggage faster, getting on the out going tender faster... worth $50, sure is.

Reading all of this is really getting old fast. It seems that a lot book and within a few days have thier cabins assigned and then a few (me also) are left hanging in the wind. Booked more than a month ago and still waiting with only 34 days left....it sucks.

boarding begins around 11-1130am. The line outside the terminal begins to form as early as 9am. Most cruisers arrive around 1030am.

why not jax fl.. leave the door open between rooms..i doubt they live in a one bedroom house..doors have locks and could be further child proofed.
If it was a OV room I would have said good idea, but a balcony, oh on.. Not even with a open door. There is no "child prof" that a child can't figure out.
Safety first.

Hampton Inn has rooms and also a hot free breakfast and is like 8 minutes from the dock. Also very close to the beach. Check it out.

Huh??
I'm saying that it wouldn't be a very effective optional sign up program, if the only ones being allowed to sign up for it would have to meet the requirement of being a minimum of 99 years old.
Never mind you did not get it.....
-
Not true. If it was, only 99 year olds would be informed. :D
And your point is........
Most are that age..................
Lookout fire storm...........................:D

look into two connecting rooms on the breeze sometime i have found it is almost as cheap as 4 or 5 in one room. what date are you looking at
ages 8 and 6, and a girl age 4, not a good idea for 2 rooms.
-
Actually you can sign up for it and it could be worth it....
What it does is allow Carnival to send you port informaiton, like parking lots, weather alerts, late sailings, ect... to your phone to keep you informed. Does not cost anything.
Kind of like the Airlines alert system...

Thanks great review....

Problem with mock bookings they don't show every cabin still available. Only 10 per category. If you want to see if a specific cabin is available you need to call.
I know but if I check back 3 days a week and the exact same 30+ cabins keep popping up... Carnival sales is not doing a great job of booking on this cruise. Also everyone of the Extended Grand Suites Midship are still avalable as are all except for 3 aft extended balconies. I paid in full when booking but if final payments are due 30 days out then in 6 days I should have an assigned cabin........I hope.

I just posted a lengthy review on the sensation review thread. ...
I guess it takes a day or two to post... Can't wait to read it.

57.44 per day for the Cheers package x 3 days = 172.32. You get 15 drinks of whatever you would like assortment wise versus your 75.00 for 10 drinks per day of the same thing. I think the extra 97.00 is worth the extra 15 drinks and the assortment that goes with those 45 drinks versus 30 drinks of the same alcohol. JMHO
That sounds great, good idea, BUT (there is always a BUT) the CHEERS package is required for each person in the cabin over 21 years old. You cannot buy the CHEERS package for just 1 person, so double the price... now... the other BUT, the wife DOES NOT DRINK BOOZE/WINE. So that is 30 drinks a day I have to drink...HEHEHE.... Can you say "Drunk on my butt" ?
-
Question. How do you check to know there are only 30 left?
Thanks
I do a mock booking as a customer looking for a balcony and picking my own room.... I check each catagory and deck and just count the empty balcony rooms. I also look at teh extended balconies and the Grand Suites and there are a lot of open cabins in all 3 of the catagories.

Just got our cabin assigned for our up coming Breeze cruise in January
Booked a balcony guarantee and was assigned Deck 8 mid ship. Very happy with what we got.
We sail December and still don't have a cabin and you do. The program must have a glitch. I check daily ant there are only 30 balconies left. I don't think I will do this again
