Also what is the REAL difference between that Balcony and the OV is it more than the $190 or the same?
Do a fake booking to check

What is a BL Balcony?

Value is probably the biggest factor for us. And I have no desire to ice skate or rock climb... just give me a DOD on the Lido.
I think that is the real reason, "value". You don't pay as much as on the other lines, but you get pretty much all the things you want to do at a fair price. It is also comfortable. We have been to most places you can sail to from Florida so most of the time we don't even get off the ship, except to snorkel or grab a cheaper drink. The food is usually good, the staff is good, the ships is clean, over all about all you could ask for.

8710,
Thanks... what I read is that you get the cabin number at embarkation, I am thinking that is a litle late... One needs to know this information before getting to the port.

This is our First time with a "Guaranteed" Balcony Cabin. I usually pick the one I want but not this time. So I go to print the luggage tags and boarding passes and there is ON CABIN NUMBER... when do I find out the cabin number? I can't just print the BLANK tags and leave the cabin blank I may never get the luggage... Also have FTTF and no number on it either.
Your help please.

We are doing a Carnival excursion called Snorkeling for Begainers. It is $24 and they take you to a place called Sunset beach a little ways from the dock. After your excursion you can stay at the beach for as long as you want. From what I can see you can walk to Sunset beach in about 10-15 minutes and skip the excursion. There is a dive shop there also.

Travel_Lover28 we are doing the Atlum Ha and River tour but with Carnival. 1st reason is a time factor. The tour is about 7 hours and we will only be at Belize for an estimated 9 hours. If somthing was to happen (flat tire, run out of gas, tree falls in the road, etc) then we might miss the boat if on a private tour, that would not be cool. Being on the Carnival Tour the ship will wait for you to get back or will get you back to the ship. 2nd reason is Belize is a tender port and that can take a while also.

Please let me know how it went :-) I'm kind of nervous of not booking with Carnival.
OK I will do.

We are on Victory Bodden Zip & Dip tour next week.

This has probably already been discussed somewhere in all of these pages, but can anyone tell me where is the secret door on the Dream? Also, our 2nd formal night on the Costa Maya port day will be Thanksgiving. How will that be handled?
For the Oct 26th DREAM cruise. The first Formal night will be sunday the second will be Wednesday and then on Halloween it is costume night in the dinning room. I have an email from the Matre D' to that. Go check out the Dream RollCall for more info.

I would recommend Cozumel or Roatan...not Belize.
-
from Puerta Maya pier to sunset beach one way they charge $20.00 per carrage but you can bargain.
Ouch...
I guess it is a taxi than.

Hey Tek,
What am I missing here? The title says Photo Intense Trip Recap of the 9-7-13 Carnival Dream, to be Photo Intense it must have pictures.... where are the pictures?
-
I was just looking at some pictures of Cozumel and noticed horse drawn carrages... anyone know what the cost is to ride in them? For short distances (pier to Villa Balanca or Sunset Beach area), could it be cheaper than a taxi?

You know it is funny that the ship can leave you at a port because you did not get back in time but you as a free USA citizen cannot on you own free will get off the ship and go back to the USA even with your passport in hand....crazy.

we're staying in 8442 on the 11/30 sailing on the Dream - since you'll be on it before us, would love to hear about it when you get back :)
Remind me.....

CRUISE2062 - The higher the deck on the ship the higher the price...thats the way they price them.
Ok I get it.
-
We have been upgraded and received cabin 8415. While not technically aft, it is still a prefered location for us. Your deck 8 cabin only has cabins located above and below you so noise shouldn't be a factor at all....enjoy!
Thanks. Now kind of a new question for you. If the cabins and deck are the same layout and size.... what makes this an "upgrade?"

BUMP up to the top.... still looking for an answer, thanks.

Just spent the day @ ElCid on Magic cruise Aug 30. We walked the couple of blocks from Carnival's pier. We played beach volleyball, snorkeled, I took a free diving lesson in the pool, laid out, ate delish food & had a couple of margaritas each - sooo good!
:D)
So how was the snorkeling, the cost of the margaritas and delish food was about what and what did you eat? So pp what was the days cost at the resort? So you would recommend ElCid to a first time visitor to Cozumel?
-
Yes, it is $40 per person for the private tour when you only have 2. We thought that if we met some fun people at our dinning table or on the ship we would invite them to join us. That can take the pp price down. Victor informed that Tex has a van that can carry up to 6 or 7. So we'll see. I defiantly want to control where we go an how long.
Let me ask this. $80+tip for 2 folks, right? Now that is just the guide and the van, right? If you want to ZIPline then that is extra, monkeys are extra, beach is extra, lunch is extra, am I correct?

Was looking for a cruise next year (if the stars align!) Boden's Zip-n-Dip and Fun-n-Sun now include Bananarama as part of the tour! I think this is a change from last year, when we had to pay for Bananarama...
Getting excited, now if I can get the other half to get excited, too!
That is why I book victor for $65 pp I get the Zip and Dip is at West Bay Beach according to my confirmation by them.

Sounds like staying on the ship is about it.

WOW no one has ever stayed in cabin 8442 on the DREAM I guess it has a brand new bed and should be clean.
