Curious if it's an OV, how bad can it be, compared to an interior guarantee. 🙂

I've never selected this category before as I've always been assigned a cabin number. What can I expect if I choose this?

Celebrity, NCL and Oceania. All from the New York area. Celebrity and NCL each have had a ship that regularly does 3 days at Royal Navy Dockyard. I have not looked at next years sailings though. Oceania has been doing a few sailings a year that have 3 1/2 day says in Bermuda. About 2 days at St. George’s and 1 1/2 day at Hamilton. In my opinion the Oceania itinerary is better but there are only a few sailings. Carnival just announced last week some longer sailings for next year from varied ports. I have not had time to check out the itineraries on their web site.
Thanks! I will look into these options.

I posted this on the Bermuda forum as well. This question is prompted by a thread on the Royal Caribbean boards. Without researching each cruise line/ itinerary individually, does anyone know which cruise line and from which departure port would offer the longest amount of port time in Bermuda? Or a good site where I can find the information? Thanks!

As I have done many ports more than once, I typical don't do excursions (or even get off the ship sometimes.) My upcoming cruise has all "new to me" ports and I want to explore. Is there any benefit to booking in advance, or can I just decide once onboard? Do I run the risk of an excursion being sold out?

I will chime in that I am a Grandeur lover too! As I used to live 15 minutes from the Port of Baltimore, I had the pleasure of sailing on her several times. Love the Enchantment also. Even though I have relocated to Florida, I still sail occasionally from Baltimore, as I am partial to my hometown. 🙂

Is there such a thing? I usually book reservations a year in advance. However, since I live relatively short driving distance to several Florida ports, I thought it would be easy to take a quick, spontaneous weekend to the Bahamas. I also thought I could find some good, last-minute bargains. This does not seem to be the case. The least expensive one I found for a 3 night (in June) was $527/ pp, interior. Is it because it's now summer and families are taking vacations? Is there a way to score a bargain last minute weekend getaway? Maybe a certain time frame where I should be searching?
Edit to add - I do not use a travel agent if that makes a difference.

There is a sign, and a stairway that leads down to the beach. The sign says not to take any sea glass with you
A few samples as displayed by hand model Susan
It is not a very large beach, but it does look like they keep adding glass
It has even been used for this
Where is the glass beach? I wish I had known about this when I was there. Guess I will need to plan another vacation to Bermuda. 😀

I usually bring some dollar bills for tipping in the DL and the bars. If I need to change a larger bill, I usually go to the casino. The 3 free drinks are only available during the DL happy hour (hours vary depending on ship), and is a limited selection. You don't have to finish the drink during happy hour. I've gotten a glass of wine, and taken it to my cabin for later consumption. (Tip: Pour it into a standard glass in the room -- the swaying of the cabin can cause the typical wine glass to topple over.) We've even taken bar drinks in to the dining room. The 3 free drinks are not available in the MDR, but they let you take a drink in there.
Did you try the cappuccino coffee machine? It is available during the day and is unlimited.
I discovered the coffee machine towards the end of the cruise, after several days of the WJ coffee, and buying Starbucks. 😀

Just got off the Grandeur this morning. This was my third cruise since reaching Diamond status. I did not realize that drinks in the Diamond lounge are unlimited. I had previously thought we were only allowed three, until my friend told me otherwise. And she was right. 😀

What do they do at a meet & mingle? It's been several years since I've been on a cruise that offered one. Also, can my friend who is not on cruise critic attend with me if she wants?

Royal has nothing near Equinox's GT range. The Quantum class ships were built at the same place, so have similarities, but are much larger in enclosed volume and passenger count. Royal's Radiance class ships are much smaller in enclosed volume and passenger count.
I love Radiance and Vision class, not a fan of the promenade on Navigator and Independence.

Same food, same menu, same wait staff singing/parade.
Ugh.

Is anything different with MTD than choosing early or late seating? Does the waitstaff still do their parade through the dining room?
-
Which Royal ship (or class) is most similar to Celebrity Equinox in size and layout?
-
I have not yet sailed Celebrity, but am researching options. As far as east coast U.S. departure ports, I see Ft Lauderdale, Miami, and Cape Liberty. Want to make sure I am not missing anything... no Port Canaveral, Tampa, or Baltimore?

Great, thank you!

What indoor areas allow smoking? The casino? Anywhere else?

Enjoying your review. I will be boarding the Grandeur when you return, on April 18th.

Under Onboard Activities on Royal's website, I see a category for jewelry making, but when I click on it, I get no details. Does anyone have information about this? Has anyone done this? Is it offered on all ships?

I am looking for feedback from those who have used the spa. I am particularly interested in the "medi" spa services, such as botox, fillers, acupuncture, etc (not hair and nails.) I am curious why someone would choose to do this on a cruise? Is there a benefit? Is it less expensive, or better quality treatment than you could get locally?

Thanks for sharing. Glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise!

The OP is talking about post-cruise flight.
Yes, I understand. I was just making the comment that I am not one to usually worry about travel time, but I would not feel comfortable making this flight after the cruise, driving from Baltimore.
OV guarantee?
