  1. Cynthia - those shoes look very nice - looks like a knit spectator. They should be good for everything. For your daytime shirts, think about using tanks and Ts to wear under the jacket. When I had to do a month in june down at the Westin Hilton Head, this is what i did, as I had to be in a suit for work. Hot as sin in the lobby because the Front Door was always open. I'd wear one for work, then again when I had a couple of hours off, You can always spiff it up a notch with a scarf. Just a suggestion, This is the Lyon trip, right? Take notes for me for food!!!
  2. No more than 3 pair, including the ones you wear. one pair for your walking, one pair for evening, one pair for just casual. if you need something for beach/water, get a thin pair of flip flops or casual shoes that can double.
  3. I'm glad I have time to think it over. Since our town back there is a farm town, "Country Semi-Formal" is what I'm going for. How rural are we? Well, last week was the "Bring Your Tractor to School" day for the high school kids - the lot was full! The hs is out in the fields, not in town. It would have been a perfect 'Footloose' school. I found a pair of jean shorts that are actually hemmed and not distressed. I first saw them when I was looking on QVC, but I also so an ad for that same brand on my FB. Liverpool. The Kristie high-waist. By buying on Liverpool instead of QVC I got a 20% off for first purchase. I think I'll be happy with them. I had to have them for the trip back for the wedding - it's jeans and jeans shorts back there. OOTD: it's sunny for now and will get cloudy as the day goes on, high of 75. So, i'm going to bring out my running skort, a sleeveless T and my trail runners to get out and take a little trot on the trails.
  4. Yes, it looks like cut-offs are back. I've searching for a new pair of jeans shorts and it seems like 90% of the ones I find are not finished hems but just the cut-off look. They look nice from the waist all the way down to the bottom, but those unfinished, frayed hems kill me. I think it's a bit of clothing discrimination when women can wear sandals at night but men cannot.
  5. It'll be the "classy old hippie lady" look 😸 Haven't quite decided on shoes. I have my tan cowboy shoe booties. I have a pair of tan leather espadrille flats. And, my hi-tops. I think the hi-top are going to show up for the reception. The last time there was a wedding reception for this group, flip flops and sneakers were the norm. I ended up watching 'Julia' today with my on-demand. interesting. with a little tweaking it would be a good addition to a "Women who changed History" class.
  6. Mona Lisa - the Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian of her time. At least it wasn't a sex tape that made her "famous" 🙀
  7. It used to be a really good airport for connections. The ground staff has always been good at keeping the airport operating in bad weather (except the bad fog/inversion - nothing helps that). I guess we'll see what happens as the expansion keeps building. They put those golf carts into service because too many people were complaining about that walk through the tunnel.
  8. Well, lately the flight to CDG has been leaving from A17. I usually get to the airport early and grab a beverage and snack at the SkyClub before getting on the plane. The tunnel is going to become a tram line at some point, but for now people have to make that LONG walk.
  9. The earrings arrived today. I wanted to show everything put together for the wedding. There isn't a way to take a good photo of the dress - it's a coccoon bottom so what you see is actually the back, the front is a few inches shorter. The hat is my Arlo hat. The shot with the earrings is when I put them in the middle of the dress. I'm still deciding on necklaces...
  10. The dresses aren't my cup of tea, but if I were to pick one to wear, it would be #2. Easy and classic.
  11. PH - so sorry you came down with COVID. The one saving grace is that you sound like you have a "mild" case. But, still take care and be mindful of any possible long COVID issues. My county went back up to the 'high transmission' stage the past month, so I'm still mindful of masking. I still have LC issues and I just want it all to go away. Yep, my schedule is BUSY. SLC is my home airport - it's a 40 minute drive. I haven't gone to the "new" airport yet. Haven't heard much good about it from the locals - we all loved our airport. It was easy access and you could make a 15 minute connection without a problem. I guess I'll find out soon!! As usual, the girls' trip has already fallen into dissarray. Now, the DH owner of the house we're supposed to stay at doesn't want us to be there any Fri-Mon because he has to work and wants to be home (he is going to stay elsewhere when we're there). So that messes things up. No way I'm flying out there for one day if it's a midweek trip unless it gets moved to the end of August. Sigh. I told one I'm just going to sit back and see what happens. The "cat herding" has begun! ootd; i've got to go out today and the temp will be mid-50s, so jeans and a long sleeve T will be the dress of the day. And, the hi-tops of course...
  12. Since no one is going to talk about cruises and hair and makeup and cruise fashions for awhile, I thought we could have some fun here. If you are under quarantine/self-isolation, would you still put on all your makeup and put on "going out in public' clothes? I'll go first. I am in self-isolation because of a "community spread" issue here in my town (bar bouncer tested positive - hasn't been anywhere, but handled hundreds of IDs of tourists at the Front Door and greeted hundreds of tourists at the Front Door). I'm a minimalist anyway with makeup, but I'm going naked face except for some moisturizer. I'm using hand lotion as my poor hands have been ravaged by all the hand sanitizer I had to use at work until we lost our jobs. I don't dress decently when I'm in my house, so I'm not going to do it now. I took out my trash cans to the curb yesterday in my pajamas, Uggs (still snow on my driveway) and uncombed hair. Not ashamed... So, what about you?
