I'm really interested on how many define Oceania -   They do not consider themself a Luxury Line but in between Celebrity and a Premium Line.

    Mr. Jim,

I agree.  I do not think Oceania and Azamara are  luxury lines,  But, they are very nice cruise lines.  When we sailed both lines we thought the regular restaurants were a smidge above Celebrity.  We thought the speciality restaurants were a smidge above Celebrity specialty restaurants also.  The service was comparable, even though Celebrity has many more passengers.

We sailed in the Owner's Suite and the forward Vista Suite.  We could only enjoy the forward veranda when we were at slow speed, very windy.  The rear Owner's Suite is our second favorite suite.  The "M" class Penthouse is very hard to beat.

If you like a quiet lounge with a drink, you will love Oceania.  We are not partiers at all, but Oceania was too quiet for us.  We do like a little night life and active casino.  But, I am betting you will like your cruise on Oceania.

All of the above is a personal opinion, which I usually do not give because everyone is different.  😊

I'm guessing you didn't spend much time on the pool deck during your one time in the Retreat.  If you did you would know that the passengers are unable to open the umbrellas themselves.

I am not trying to be argumentative, but I have to disagree with you.  The umbrellas have a pulley system.  You have to lift up on one side to access the rope.  There is a slot to secure the rope while you tie the rope at the bottom of the pole.

But, I suggest folks not try to do it themself.  While I was securing the umbrella, one of the pool attendants came to assist.  They probably knew I didn't know what I was doing.  😂

Seeing some conflicting information on signature suite.  Booking page information does not show specialty dining, in room alcohol, etc, but ship info page does. Are those perks included with suite? Thanks.

    Yes they are.  😊

I like your comment on the 'just the two of us' and 'our size.'

just us years and years later, a whole lifestyle change with the following 'healthy' tenderloin steak and appropriate portion 🙄 (we 'split it' and still have 1/3 left over for Sunday)

Steak and Eggs Sunday morning is/are great.  😋

We have been on all 3 classes and prefer the E class

We also have a B2B on the Edge and while I prefer the Ascent or Beyond, I am looking forward to getting on the ship 6 weeks from now.

Ditto on all of the above, except our B2B on Edge starts in 50 days.  😉

Nice.  We have our oldest son in Texas near Austin and 2 GKs.  What an eyeopener going to the grocery store (the size of a small mall back north in the summer) the first time and see the # of butchers and the % of custom cuts (and the size) and the size of the 'meat department.'

Yes sir.  We are very fortunate.  There is usually just two of us and they will even cut a brisket to "our size".  😋

I guess the follow-up question would be How many of those kids who love cruising on Celebrity had previously been on more kids-oriented cruises?

When our sons were young, we cruised on Celebrity most of the time.  But, I didn't want to be "that kind" of parent.  So, we did one of the Royal Caribbean cruises with all the whistles.  I endured it, and did not complain.  I wanted them to enjoy it.

When we got home, I asked them if they had a great time.  They said that they really liked it, but they liked Celebrity better.  🙄

We were on the Ascent in January. We booked the RTG for our port day in San Juan since we did not leave port until 10pm.

We did the same thing on our Ascent cruise in January.  But, we didn't have rain.  😊

we ate there on ASCENT recently.   large portions..no room for dessert!

You definitely should have left room for desert.  The warm chocolate chip cookie is wonderful.  😊
