Thank you everyone. Yes I'm going to get a certified copy of my birth certificate and bring it with my Passport and new driver's license I'm getting this October. I'm not chancing renewing my passport right now with the delays. God forbid my passport gets lost and then I'm really stuck out of luck! I'm a nervous traveler, so trying to avoid any unnecessary worries like this passport question.

Between Royal and Celebrity we did 3 cruises out of Florida within 6 months of our passports expiring. No one batted an eye.

Like in Haiti, what happens in the capital (very far removed from the cruise port) is very unlikely to affect cruising.

Information is the first line of defense in avoiding an unlikely scenario.

I bought the Cruise On non surge protected power plug and my cousin bought the Cruise Essentials version. His came with a n insert that said Royal Caribbean and Disney doesn’t allow their use. Does Royal Caribbean allow the use of any version?

Used a non-corded for the first time on Celebrity without a problem recently but I've yet to try it on a Royal cruise. We haven't got one booked until November.

  4. Had a S2S booked in Port Everglades. Problem? They moved the 2nd ship to Miami scheduled to begin on our cruise. D Concierge signed us up for an excursion that she said would drop us at Port of Miami. Asked the driver while pulling into Miami airport if he was going to POM next...Nope. Exited the bus and took a cab the rest of the way. The worst part was the 2nd ship had to drop off in PE before moving to POM but they still couldn't allow us to board there.

Star class excepted:  I believe the intent of the policy is to not have more than one drink/bottle/can at a time in one's possession, including in the cabin.  So, I don't believe stocking your cabin is quite kosher or the intent of the policy.  It's been my experience that even in Star Class, you can only have one drink or glass of wine delivered to your suite, per person, at a time.  Beer, sodas, water, and wine cooler-type drinks are stocked in the suite.  When the roving bartender/cart (my term, not sure what he/she was officially called) used to come to the Star Class suites, they would only give one drink or glass of wine per person.

YMMV and/or your experience may differ.

I did mean water. We usually pack the fridge with it.

It is a Sky Junior suite category JY and yes it is part of Sky Class.  They sold quickly which may be why you could not find any in the 4 sailings you looked at.

That's because all the Sky Jr Suites sold out Day 1

I couldn't find them on any deck plans I looked at and had to Google 'Sky Junior Suite' to see them. We're on her May '24 and never saw the option. Crazy prices but we got talked into going with extended family.

  7. We're doing back B2B shorties on Independence in November. It'll be our first without the DBP...at least for the first leg. The problem will be getting waters. Wife is a 1 water for 1 cocktail/wine drinker and I'm a 1 for 2. That's a lot of waters between the two of us. Add the convenience of not signing and not keeping track of C&A drinks and the experiment is already teetering on failure.

  8. Old enough to remember walking into MTD anytime between 5:30 - 6:30 and being seated right away. Then we did a stretch of Oasis Class suites and Celebrity suites. Fast forward to Serenade last November and holy cow! What a mess. Ended up in specialties and the WJ every night except the last night. The last night we walked right in.

For dinner...  about a decade ago, we were in a GS, and hosted family who were in a JS for Thanksgiving dinner in our cabin.  There were no issues, as we just ordered the whole menu ourselves.

Have done the same when our grandson was feeling under the weather. His mom and dad were in a JS. It was lobster night so we invited them up. He slept while we ate.

What are your favorite drinks on Equinox? I want to make a list of some drinks to try and have seen various ones in reviews that sound good.

French Caribbean and a Zacapa Old Fashioned get mentioned quite a bit.. What else do they have that you like?

Couldn't get Zacapa on my March Reflection cruise. Rumor has it that Celebrity's distributor no longer carries it. We're on Equinox in 2 weeks so we'll see.
