Today is a sea day. Chilly, damp and rolling seas. We haven't met any new passengers. May take a bit for folks to thaw! 😁

Today is embarkation day. We spent the morning and early afternoon on the pool deck to keep out of the way of the staff and crew scurrying to prepare for all the embarking guests. When we returned to the suite there were some lovely goodies. I love the brown hat!

Next port is Honolulu on January 21. I hope we can avoid the atmospheric river! 😶

It seems the ship will not be moving to a new docking today. Passengers will embark and disembark from our current location. This will be a challenge for everyone.

I think it was only the World Cruisers at dinner last night. Myster took pictures and will upload them to me later today. The venue was spectacular. The meal was very good. Entertainment was a violinist, a drummer and 4 dancers performing on the spectacular staircase.

We were delayed arriving because of weather. We will be docked here overnight. We will move to where we were supposed to dock tomorrow. Mother Nature threw a monkey wrench into the plan.

We're not on the World Cruise yet. That cruise sails tomorrow from San Francisco with new passengers embarking then. We are currently on the last couple days of the cruise that sailed from Fort Lauderdale to San Francisco. There are 12 of us continuing on for the World Cruise. Passengers embarking tomorrow for the World Cruise are overnighting at the San Francisco Fairmont Hotel tonight. The pre-cruise Gala is being held tonight at San Francisco City Hall. Transportation has been arranged to take us to the site from the ship departing from here at 6:45 pm.

I suggested to the Shore Concierge staff this afternoon that a more detailed description of the inclines involved in the Hike to the Hollywood Sign would be helpful. They indicated that other guests had also suggested this. Hopefully this will help future passengers in determining whether the hike would work for them. On another note, the device used to lower the windscreens is broken. Dinner tonight at the Grill involved being swaddled in blankets. Hopefully they can retool the gizmo before we hit very chilly conditions.

Today we were in Los Angeles. A face-to-face Immigration meet-up prior to heading out on our Hike to the Hollywood sign. About an hour after departure we arrived at the beginning of the trail. I really don't know what I was thinking when I booked myself on this tour. Myster did very well! I stopped after 1/3 of the trail and sat on a rock for 1.5 hours. The tour description mentioned inclines. I was imagining gentle ramp style inclines not ski slope inclines. Myster's photos will follow tomorrow. It's a sea day.

Wind screens were down, heaters were on! It worked! 😁

We have a dinner reservation at The Grill tonight! This should be interesting.

Today is another sea day. Rough seas and very chilly. Tomorrow is LA. We're going to hike to the Hollywood sign. Hopefully the weather cooperates. 😁
