  1. Seas have calmed enough for me to shower and not kill myself in the process! 😁 Life is good!
  2. Seas are still bouncing. Ship speed is up to 17 knots. Steaming toward Runavik with scheduled arrival of 11:30 am.
  3. We think the creaking sound is the door. Also wind whistles. A virtual symphony! 😁 It hasn't stopped since very early this morning. We shuffled our way down the hall to Dolce Vita for a change in scenery. White knuckled the rail!
  4. We continue to bounce like a rubber ball. Captain's report at noon indicated there would not be much change. With the humongous splashes, spray and rain drops it feels like we are inside a shaken snow globe. For the first time ever cruising since 2005 Myster had to bounce his way to Reception for medication for his queasiness. This storm is a beast. Arrival in Runavik now looks to be late afternoon tomorrow instead of scheduled early morning.
  5. Unless things settle down I'm not leaving the suite. Old bones don't react well to falls. Not seasick, thank the Goddesses!
  6. 20220610_083756.mp4 Something dropped from the ceiling in the night. The most angry seas we have ever sailed!
  7. We're heading into rough seas tonight into tomorrow. The swells could be 6 to 7 meters. Winds could gust to 45 mph. Rolling and pitching to be expected. Hold on to your hats folks! This could be a bumpy ride!
  8. COVID cases today were 11 pax and 22 crew. Some pax were disembarked. S.A.L.T. Kitchen... We've eaten there 4 times. 3 times were very good. One time was a disappointment. S.A.L.T. Bar is wonderful and very small. With COVID cases at the current level we have avoided it.
  9. Today we are docked in Reykjavik for the beginning of segment 4. We need to leave our suite by 8:00 am. Last night we had a wonderful in-suite Philippine meal...chicken adobo, lumbia, pansit and rice. Such a treat!
  10. We were lucky enough to be in Heimaey on the segment before this one. We did a Circumnavigation of Heimaey. Beautiful!!!
  11. Thank you Paula! Overall this has been a great adventure! The staff and crew have been heroic as always! And there are many lovely fellow passengers! Silversea is our favourite cruise line and even during times when circumstances make for difficulties they do their very best to provide an awesome sail.
  12. In about 50ish days (if the gods and goddesses smile kindly) Myster and I will sail out of Lisbon on the Silver-y Moon on May 6, 2022 and be dropped off in Stockholm on June 28, 2022. As most members are aware the Roll Call for Silversea cruises is like a barren wasteland. Very few people actually use it. This is not a Roll Call! This is an invitation for folks on any or all of the segments on this voyage to chime in. Questions, comments, asides are welcome. When the cruise actually begins I'm hoping this can be a group blog for all who want to share their experiences on this journey. We did this for the World Cruise 2019 with wonderful participation. Looking forward to hearing from you!
