  1. Regarding the 20%... Is this "per check' now - so each round? I think before it was based on the total package price....
  2. Hope for a refund... plan for them to file bankruptcy... 🤷‍♀️
  3. Celebrity Summit is going to Ft. Lauderdale Carnival Fascination is going to Miami Royal Carib Freedom of the Seas is going to Miami Majority of these passengers are Puerto Ricans that will now need to fly home
  4. Fascination is headed to Miami having been denied in San Juan. Celebrity Summit was denied entry to San Juan yesterday and appears to be headed to Ft. Lauderdale/ Port Everglades. I read the summit cleared the Coast Guard and the CDC but was denied anyway. RC Freedom of the Seas is also on its way to Miami after being denied in San Juan today as well. NCL Epic will inevitably be denied, if they haven’t already been. I wonder what’s going to happen when they all get back to Florida 🤔. ETA - we have sailed Fascination from San Juan 3 times (today would have been the 4th). I would say the majority of the ship’s passengers are Residents of Puerto Rico. Now they all have to fly home 🤷‍♀️
  5. We called our PVP. She said they would refund taxes but the remaining would be FCC. We were in a jam because we had to make a decision 72 hours before as I understood.
  6. We cancelled last night so it is unlikely we will get the email.
  7. I'm giving this a go. We were cruising Sunday from San Juan and waited to cancel until last night after the State, the local Schools, and our Employers required a 14 day quarantine upon return from cruising. I'm not interested in the FCC given for a multitude of reasons which I won't bore you with here. Thoughts?
  8. San Juan, Puerto Rico is a common wealth territory of the United States. It should be covered under Federal Law. Also they have already activated the US National Guard as well. Highly unlikely you will be able to cruise from there...
  9. Add Royal Caribbean to the list! https://presscenter.rclcorporate.com/press-release/82/royal-caribbean-announces-voluntary-suspension-of-cruising/
  10. Where is the fare code on the cruise documents?
  11. Does anyone know the results of the test?
  12. Look like this ship had a female Italian passenger fall ill with pneumonia and is quarantined in San Juan and being tested for CV.
  13. What’s a coconut delight?! is it the same as a Samoa.?
  14. Sorry if this has been answered but I'm curious.... where did the repatriated passengers end up here in the states?
  15. Mullet Bay in St Maarten and then Carlisle Bay in Barbados - both for the beaches.
  16. We are booking a cruise in March and I'm having trouble deciding between Carnival Fascination (this would be our 4th sailing on her for the itinerary) Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas (this would be our second), or Celebrity to the ABC islands. DH and I are early 40s and took Infinity our of Ft Lauderdale which was very relaxing but a bit of a snooze fest. We aren't "partiers" by any stretch of the imagination... This upcoming cruise we will have a 21 and 18 yo in tow so I was wondering if the passenger mix might be a bit younger on Celebrity out of San Juan. Anyone notice?
  17. We sailed on 9/1. The lido buffet was ALWAYS too crowded and the food was mediocre at best (save breakfast). The deserts totally blew even in the MDR. With so many port days, lunch was over (3pm) when we returned to the ship so we grabbed a bite in the Cafe Promenade and the sandwiches were luke warm and the wraps were wet on the bottom. Soggy wet - gross wet. The pizza - yuck. We didn't eat in the Specialty restaurants (buy the package if you expect a decent meal). I'm sure a lot of people are dissatisfied leaving the buffet which is why they are right at the exit pandering their packages. Same with MDR. We sailed on Carnival Fascination this past April and September 2018. Maybe it's the size of the ship that causes the crowding issues on Freedom, but Carnival's buffet, pizza, and sandwiches are significantly better than Royal's. The MDR as well. Celebrity's is by far the best. I'm not a fan of the "I need to get $#!+ faced drunk to break even" drink packages on any of the ships. I'm not sure what happens to people's mentalities... It was especially notable on this cruise. I'm not sure how these cruiser's kids don't end up in the sea with the lack of supervision and horse play. The ice cream machine is on the pool deck so constantly a line and constantly needed refilling or serviced. HOWEVER... the "wash your hands" singer at the Windjammer... soooooo cute! Wash your hands... Wash your hands... ETA- I had a lady at breakfast literally say "don't mind me" as she reached over me to grab a hash-brown at breakfast with her hand. Tongs... Hello. The cabin was fine - nice to have a little fridge. The room steward was fine. I wasn't a fan of the towel scan system either. JS... 🙂
  18. We went in September 2018, April 2019, and spent the weekend in June! This is the stretch of beach - 2 chairs and umbrellas were $15. There are 2 food/bar stands we always have eaten at the brown structure - BBQ hotdogs are so good (it's the bread 🙂 ) plus chicken and ribs, hamburgers etc. Cheap! This was at sunset when we spent the weekend. It's a bit of steep pitch into the water but it's fine because the sand is supersoft so you can make yourself some stairs or slide 😄 . There are some larger flat boulders in the water but it's not what I would consider a rocky beach. I wear water shoes always because I have a bad pinky toe that likes to dislocate at will, but no one else wore water shoes at Mullet. You can see the planes land at Maho from here but with a lot less noise and it's never been overly crowded. I may or maynot have been intoxicated enough to be making a sand angel here... we will never know lol
  19. Taxi to Mullet Bay!!! You can rent 2 chairs and an umbrellas for $15. There is a little food stand/bar and they serve bbq like hotdogs, ribs, chicken etc. Very affordable and our favorite spot on the island!
  20. Just to clarify ------- It's a snooze fest for anyone under 55 IMHO.
  21. If you don't have a First Watch near you then you should go! It is a chain restaurant but my goodness it's delicious! We love the Cinnamon Banana Pancakes (add chocolate chips)! If you are looking for more of a local vibe then try Datz ! I think the Columbia is overrated - try Ulele on the River!!!
