  1. We sailed on 9/1. The lido buffet was ALWAYS too crowded and the food was mediocre at best (save breakfast). The deserts totally blew even in the MDR. With so many port days, lunch was over (3pm) when we returned to the ship so we grabbed a bite in the Cafe Promenade and the sandwiches were luke warm and the wraps were wet on the bottom. Soggy wet - gross wet. The pizza - yuck. We didn't eat in the Specialty restaurants (buy the package if you expect a decent meal). I'm sure a lot of people are dissatisfied leaving the buffet which is why they are right at the exit pandering their packages. Same with MDR. We sailed on Carnival Fascination this past April and September 2018. Maybe it's the size of the ship that causes the crowding issues on Freedom, but Carnival's buffet, pizza, and sandwiches are significantly better than Royal's. The MDR as well. Celebrity's is by far the best. I'm not a fan of the "I need to get $#!+ faced drunk to break even" drink packages on any of the ships. I'm not sure what happens to people's mentalities... It was especially notable on this cruise. I'm not sure how these cruiser's kids don't end up in the sea with the lack of supervision and horse play. The ice cream machine is on the pool deck so constantly a line and constantly needed refilling or serviced. HOWEVER... the "wash your hands" singer at the Windjammer... soooooo cute! Wash your hands... Wash your hands... ETA- I had a lady at breakfast literally say "don't mind me" as she reached over me to grab a hash-brown at breakfast with her hand. Tongs... Hello. The cabin was fine - nice to have a little fridge. The room steward was fine. I wasn't a fan of the towel scan system either. JS... πŸ™‚
  2. We went in September 2018, April 2019, and spent the weekend in June! This is the stretch of beach - 2 chairs and umbrellas were $15. There are 2 food/bar stands we always have eaten at the brown structure - BBQ hotdogs are so good (it's the bread πŸ™‚ ) plus chicken and ribs, hamburgers etc. Cheap! This was at sunset when we spent the weekend. It's a bit of steep pitch into the water but it's fine because the sand is supersoft so you can make yourself some stairs or slide πŸ˜„ . There are some larger flat boulders in the water but it's not what I would consider a rocky beach. I wear water shoes always because I have a bad pinky toe that likes to dislocate at will, but no one else wore water shoes at Mullet. You can see the planes land at Maho from here but with a lot less noise and it's never been overly crowded. I may or maynot have been intoxicated enough to be making a sand angel here... we will never know lol
  3. Taxi to Mullet Bay!!! You can rent 2 chairs and an umbrellas for $15. There is a little food stand/bar and they serve bbq like hotdogs, ribs, chicken etc. Very affordable and our favorite spot on the island!
  4. Just to clarify ------- It's a snooze fest for anyone under 55 IMHO.
  5. If you don't have a First Watch near you then you should go! It is a chain restaurant but my goodness it's delicious! We love the Cinnamon Banana Pancakes (add chocolate chips)! If you are looking for more of a local vibe then try Datz ! I think the Columbia is overrated - try Ulele on the River!!!
  6. Don’t book a Disney Cruise as your first cruise ever. My face was an unsightly shade of green in every photo taken on Board. #ExpensiveLessons
  7. On my way to Harbor Freight! πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜
  8. Hi! It looks like Carnival Fascination might be the only big ship in port. We are a party of 6 and would like to do a Private Catamaran. The total for 10 is $1045. (more than 10 is $80 additional pp). We were hoping to find at least 4 people who would like to go in with us on an 8 hour day. We just want to snorkel by the pitons and are pretty flexible with the rest. We don't have a roll call - sadly! Message me!
  9. We went to Dominca in September. We took a tour with Levi Barron. He was amazing.
  10. Glitch? I booked 11/15 weekend trip less than 48 hours ago for OV. For the 2 of us it was $1128 with $300 OBC and the classic beverage package (Go Better). Today I checked the price and it dropped $360 dollars! I called Celebrity and got the run around a little. They refunded the $360 but claimed that it is a website glitch that is giving Florida residents an extra discount. I checked a few other cruises and they seemed β€œglitchy” as well. Is is this normal or really a glitch since we are 2 weeks out?
  11. I sailed on Fascination last month during my Bday. I received the $50 spa card. We had a port every day so I didn't have time to use the card. I did however call and ask if I could use the card towards products and they said no. I have read that others have been able to purchase products with the spa card (so maybe at least try if you aren't using it on a service). We did not mention my bday to anyone because we dine on our time. One evening the servers sang and brought a piece of cake with a candle. The cake was... interesting.
  12. Thank you for the tip! We booked this last minute - room 3134 for Nov. 15th. πŸ™ It will be our 1st on Celebrity. 😊
  13. I received $50 spa gift card on Fascination last week. It was the first time that I received one and I'm Gold. It was my Birthday week so I thought it was for that. I called the spa and they said it could not be used on products - only services. I never made it up to check the pricing though... and here I thought I was special :')
  14. U148 last week with Jomar. He was great!
  15. I agree 100%. I wanted to buy a bar of soap at the pharmacy in port and they had a security person escort us and wait outside.
