  1. I dont have anything profound to contribute...i have mobility problems and in cancer treatment...i am proficient using a scooter but i sure wish carnival put some STAIRS into their pools...all the other major lines have at least one pool with access i can use...traveling with  multigeneration family this year so they picked the line and ship...surprising that even the newer ships dont gave them...we are doing the breeze...

  2. Going to the baths from stt is going to be a lot of travel time and very little time at the baths....there is a climb down  that can be uneven....i have ra and replaced knees and your age and would not do it...you can swim in if you go by boat....maybe save it for when tortola is a port....much less transpotation involved...have a lovely trip!

  3. You picked a great destination for your first cruise...staying in bermuda for a while is so different then a new island at every stop...take the boat to st georges and go to tobacco bay....there is a bar with tasty food and delicious hibiscus tea...it is shallow aways out and then you can snorkel along the rocks...great rock formations...one of my favorite places in over 20 years of cruising...take a cab back to the swizzle inn and have bemuda chowder and an awesome fish sandwich with your rum drink....way better than most of the food on the ship... twice a local has offered us a ride from the beach to the swizzle..maybe you'll get lucky!..have a wonderful time...give your wife 2 weekends so she has time to shop!...we only take carryon but the first few times you will over pack...

  4. For years we handed ours over until my sister saw bags disappear into the water as they were boarding...letting that scenario complete itself in my imagination and no way was i taking that chance ....we only pack carryon and a medical bag and try not to have anything we dont really need...

  5. I tried to visit a regular cabin with a scooter and the hall was too narrow to turn into the cabin....i would suggest getting help booking a cabin in the same hallway  near ab hc cabin as it will be wider giving you a chance to get into a regular cabin....i was in an ov hc cabin on ncl and the reg sized scooter was a nightmare to store...

  6. I dont do any of them...back in the day a travel agent was asking me a lot of questions to help narrow down line and cabin choice...she got a little huffy and frustrated asking me....WELL if you dont drink, dont dance, dont gamble and dont use a gym just why are you taking a cuise?....i told her it was all about the blue water and fish...other than that im not fussy...that was 25 years ago....im a little pickier now due to medical stuff but still dont do any of the activities...

  7. I highly tecommend insuremytrip....a great company who will take the time to customize your insurance needs....they saw me through a long and diffucult health issue where i had to rebook and cancel numerous times....couldnt revommend them highly enough...do it tomorrow because time is of the essence...and goid luck,in your treatment....you have a great attitude and that counts for a lot....i hope your sister is doing well,too...

  8. Whichever line you choose be sure to get an AFT cabin....180 degree view many, many hours per day...our first aft on a last minute cruise with extended family...we got picked off the waiting list and were the envy of our group...happened to be carnival spirit....our only carnival cruise ......i would go princess if i was making plans for this trip on my own...

  9. Been going to the caribbean for decades....only cold once after snorkling for hours on the boat ride back to the hotel...that said throw in a light sweater for the parts of the ship that might be too cool for you...the motto often posted here is half the clothing and twice the money...because we only do carryon to fly there isnt much extra in our bags that we want to be without....so we carry them on the ship....we have witnessed bags going overboard....and starting to sink...have a wonderful trip!

  10. Not all hallways are wide enough to allow the scooter to be driven into the cabin...call the special assistance people to be sure you will not be disappointed...the scooter must not be stored in the hall....they can tell you just how wide the doorway is...and you need to ask about the hallway...i could not get the scooter into a cabin i was visiting on a princess ship...an eye opener....clearly the halls with hc rooms are wider...have a great trip!

  11. You cant be sure of being assigned a cabin where the hallway will be wide enough for you to line the scooter up to get in the door...keep your hc cabin to be sure...and enjoy!.......when i finally allowed myself to have a scooter i found it much safer and my husband worried about me so much less....
