    Day 1

Safety check in was the easiest I have ever done.    You show up and person scans your card and you are done.  They are not even demonstrating the life jacket.

Don't you have to watch the safety video and check into your muster station? I know they were calling a lot of names on our last cruise because they didn't pay attention to that part.

We cancelled a cruise with an accepted move up bid.  Received a FCC for the amount of the cruise fare and move up bid.  Refund for taxes and other precruise purchases.   This was in March of 2020.

    That seems logical.

  3. I actually contacted "Move Up"about this and have been told that if I cancel due to having covid I would be refunded but If I just decide to cancel (I won't) and it's inside the 48 hours I will lose the money. Not sure how they would actually handle it but that is certainly a risk.

Reading posts on X Captain’s Club FB I learned that a quarantined cruiser is being housed at 4 points Sheraton, a 140/night hotel- not very nice - There are 80 rooms filled with Covid people.  She is receiving 100/day to order food - room service/ Uber eats etc.  She is not sure of arrangements to get her home yet.  These new Covid situations are unprecedented. It is so important to know what can happen if you test positive while on board, Some cruisers on Edge class ships are being quarantined in porthole cabins- no fresh air.  We need to know all the info in order to make informed decisions as to whether to cruise on not during this Omicron surge.

Please add your experiences if you are one of the cruisers who tested positive recently on board.  I learned a lot from the “In Quarantine” thread and hope to learn more from other affected cruisers.  Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences,
I and all of you love cruising!

There are only certain hotels that are doing covid quarantines. Four Points isn't an expensive hotel but usually is about a 4 rating out of 5. It's often recommended on here when people are looking for a pre-cruise stay.

I haven't stayed there but it was one that popped up on Marriott for $180 in Feb.

I don't know of any rules against mentioning group names, unless they are travel agents.  Wondering if the pictures were valid.  Can't imagine Celebrity putting someone up in a place like that.

I also wonder about the validity. Yesterday someone on FB posted about a huge number of positive tests and a bogus recording of a Captain's announcement. The poster was being pranked by someone but I'm sure hundreds read the post and don't realize they were duped too.

Good morning from Bonaire! We arrived around 7a and were cleared at 7:30a. So far we've docked on the port side in every port.

We're headed off snorkeling soon, but the Captain just announced 1 crew member was symptomatic and tested positive. All close contacts were isolated and tested negative. I hope everyone currently on Silhouette and all the other ships at sea has a good day and stays safe.

So excited to see you're in Bonaire! We are very hopeful we will get there too. We're on 1/24. Are you allowed to get off on your own?

Wow- "starting at $210"... so my for family of 6 it will be "starting" (surprise you won't know until you get there) at $1260 USD ($1615 Canadian) or the stress-inducing option of trying to find somewhere along the way home. Feels like Royal doesn't want me to sail!

Will the monitored BiNax tests work for you?

  9. Why is it such a big deal to get tested at the terminal when you disembark or self test? There have been so many changes and disappointments over the last almost 2 years that I just don't understand why this is so major. I have two cruises booked in Jan- Feb that are not going as planned at all but I'll certainly be glad we can go

We got an 11:30 check in time in the very early hours last night for Feb 4 Silhouette out of Port Everglades. When I checked back tonight, they were offering a 10:30 slot.  You can change your time slot by clicking on the person icon at the top R in app and then clicking on “Edit check-in” to see what time slots are available. You can then choose a new time.

Strangely enough, I waited until this afternoon to do check-in since it's our second of a B2B. I got 10:30. Went back and looked at 1/24 and that changed to 10:30 as well.

So you are kicked off the ship in a foreign country and told 'you're on your own kid' to try and find a facility to test in, with no knowledge of how to get there, guidance re timeline or cost, or assistance from RCI?!

I would expect a list of RCI preferred suppliers and the costs at each port as a bare minimum.

    Very poor decision by RCI.

They are pretty clear that you can get tested at the terminal.
