Hi Noreen
Read your review. I am in awe of someone who can go into all this detail.
Unable to load your cabin video though.
Like everyone we have had so many cancelled cruises that a treat was required.
Just lost July 2021 so doubling down on July 2022.

Hi.
I enjoy writing the reviews - it’s great to go back and relive them.
Let me try attaching the video directly here.
If this doesn’t work, I finally figured out how to put it on youtube, just did this a day or so ago - link below

I hope one of these work.

Maybe this is the location to ask my question?
We were told by Blue Chip Club that the cruise we booked through them at a discounted rate would not qualify for Celebritys Cruise Insurance. Our cruise isn’t until Jan 2023 and we are about a month out passed the time for pre existing conditions. We will pay for the insurance but was surprised that I have to go to an outside insurance company? We would have gotten it right away (which was what we were told verbally) that we had up until final payment to get their insurance if we had known this. They said this was something new.Anyone else been told this?
Hi. We were unable to add insurance also. They said it was because it’s a free cruise.

Hi.
The Royal Suite is great. We were on Silhouette February/March 2020 in a Royal Suite after the upgrades to the ship. It was beautiful. I have a review with pictures and a short video of the suite linked in my signature.
We also were on Reflection in Royal Suite April 2018 (review with pictures linked in my signature too). I know you mentioned Silhouette but this way if you wanted to see the before and after upgrades you can. I know it’s different ships but same class so pretty close.
It’s a great experience and you may be hooked by how well you are spoiled.
Any questions I’m happy to answer if I can, I miss talking about cruising.
I’m sure you will have an amazing time.

Hi
We were on Mariner fall 2019 and thought it was great.
We were pleasantly surprised by the food in the main dining room
The ice show was so good we saw it twice
The water slides were a lot of fun
I wrote a review with pictures which is linked in my signature if you want to take a look and read some more detail on what we thought
If you have any questions just ask, I miss talking about my cruises

That’s great news.
We aren’t fans of organized group excursions, preferring the flexibility to do what we want (usually go to a beach then wander around and explore a bit, or maybe rent a car to explore)
Thank you for sharing

Hi
Yes there were plugs on one side of the bed as well as a charging station on the desk in the bedroom
We were in a Royal Suite on Silhouette February/March 2020 right after it’s refurb and before cruising stopped
I have a review with pictures and a video room tour linked in my signature

Hi
September 2019 on Mariner in a Grand Suite there was embarkation day lunch in the dining room for suites.
Breakfast daily in Chops for suites.

I would definitely help out.
I buy postcards in port all the time as I like to use them in photo albums with pictures of the day. The postcard usually has the name of the island and a pretty scene, much better than my pictures.
I like your idea of mentioning it in the roll call too.
If we ever sail together I would be happy to help

We always get the boarding photo too.
We started framing them and hanging them on the wall at home.

Hi
We did pay $1,800 deposits for our sailings ($900 per person).
Right now it’s a bit annoying since who knows if we will get to sail, but otherwise it doesn’t bother me since we would have to pay it all at some point anyway.

Hi
Our deposit was $900 per person. We booked Royal Suites.
It was the same for the one we booked from home as well as one we booked onboard, we did not get a reduced deposit. They were 11 or 12 nights.

Oh Noreen, it was your terrific reviews I read, and your wonderful photos that convinced me to talk to my husband about booking the silhouette!😁
Hi. I’m glad my review helped you choose Silhouette (and try Celebrity). I learn so much on cruise critic, I’m always happy when I can give back and help others. If you have any questions just ask. I love talking about cruises and can’t wait to be able to cruise again.
Stay safe and healthy

Hi
My husband and I were on Silhouette February/March 2020.
I wrote a review with pictures linked in my signature if you want to read more about it.
In a nutshell, it was great. That was only our second Celebrity cruise, first one was on Reflection. We have mainly cruised with Royal Caribbean, but we love Celebrity too now.

Yes in CK on Anthem.
We didn’t like the heavy sauce and asked for it plain with some butter.
We did the same the night they had a lobster salad type appetizer, no sauceThey have always been very accommodating

Including that heavy champagne sauce?
I'm fine with the poaching, just hold the sauce
Totally agree, we order the lobster naked with some melted butter on the side.

Hi
We are big fans of Coastal Kitchen.
We like that we normally have the same waiter who gets to know you and what you like (similar to fixed dining in the dining room).
If there is something from the main dining room menu that you like they can bring it. That may vary by ship but it was never a problem on Anthem.
We may go to a specialty restaurant if we want something different but usually are very happy in Coastal Kitchen.
I have a lot of reviews in my signature with menu and food pictures if you want to take a look.

Hi
Just a quick update...
I checked Celebrity’s website This morning to see if my original Reflection Jan 2021 sailing showed my cabin available. It did so then I checked the Feb 2022 Constellation sailing to see what Royal Suites were showing (just being curious to see what my options would be to change if I didn’t like where they’ve placed me).
Next step was logging in to check...they put me in the one I would have chosen (aside from the originally booked one that I already have). I’ve just on the other side of the ship.
I won’t bother my TA right away since the Lift/Shift part seemed to work and I’m guessing she’ll see an updated confirmation to send me.
Next step will be cancelling the more expensive, non refundable booking for the FCC, but it doesn’t seem like that’s a rush to do immediately.
I will continue to update as we move along with the process
Thank you all for your help/advice

Well I pulled the trigger today. Here are the details:
My family of 4 was booked in an FV cabin on the Dec 20 2020 Hong Kong to Singapore 14 night cruise aboard Millennium. My family also holds a reservation for an S2 suite on the Dec 19 2021 Hong Kong to Singapore 14 night cruise, but this time on Solstice. Obviously both are Christmas and New Years sailings.
Each reservation was held with a $400 deposit because we booked them on board (a year apart). The Millennium deposit was fully refundable while we chose the non-refundable option on Solstice.
So today through our travel agent, we lifted and shifted the Millennium reservation to the same holiday sailing that we hold the S2 reservation on Solstice.
The interesting thing for us here is that, for now, the FVs are not available on Solstice because they are being offered as Sunset Suites which was the plan after Solstice gets her Revolution makeover. So there was a question as to what cabin would Celebrity Lift and Shift us to.
So Celebrity placed my family of 4 in two connecting balcony cabins (Cat 1B). Overall we came out ahead financially. On the good side, our adult kids are now 1st/2nd passengers in a balcony cabin but only paying 3rd/4th passenger fare ($999 pp) thanks to the Lift and Shift. Also, because they were holiday cruises, we were shifted from M class to S class which generally is in the more expensive direction.
Also the cruise fare for the 2 balcony cabins together were $4,400 cheaper than the S2 reservation (and more space and 2 bathrooms).
One negative was that the port charges + fees are $94 pp higher on the Solstice sailing. Incredibly, the Millennium port charges and fees were only $48 pp.
The other negative is that we will not be able to apply for the $250 RCL shareholder credit for the L&S booking while we had it successfully applied to our S2 reservation (because of when the reservations were made). I will apply anyway to see what happens, but it was turned down when I submitted a request for the Millennium reservation a few months ago.
We went ahead and cancelled our S2 reservation and we will get an FCC for the non-refundable deposit which we will apply to the Lifted and Shifted reservation.
So overall, I am pleased with the outcome.
David
Thank you for the update. Sounds like you were able to get it solved quickly with your TA. I agree the two rooms for 4 people sounds much better than 1 room.
I forgot about the shareholder OBC but the cruise is so far away I will do that as it gets closer. Most of the time they find some reason to deny it for me.
I will post once my lift and shift is resolved as it’s still in process.
Thank you
Noreen

Thank you
I don’t know if it pulls out to a bed, we didn’t check. But the couch itself was comfortable as Scott definitely took a few naps on it. I am sure someone will have that answer
