  1. Ordered some champagne for my Quantum cruise next week a few weeks ago. Had no trouble online. Got the confirmation form shortly thereafter. Only change I noticed, and not sure if it was cause this was done closer to the sail date than I normally do, is that they charged my card almost instantly. Normally I see them just reserve the bottle order and when it's close, or actually I've had it done during, they charge the card and complete the order.

  2. Official response from Royal:

"I appreciate the chance to clear up any mis-information about sports activities. Per the sports manager onboard, you need to be at least 5 years old to ride in the bumper cars and 8 years old to drive. Please note, if you are going to drive the car, you also need to be at least 42 inches tall.

Also, the restriction for Ripcord by IFly, is 3 years old. While this sounds young, there is an attendant inside the tube with when using this 'ride' so the guidelines are more lenient. I also checked on our Circus at Sea program. The age to participate in that is 6. Don't forget, we also have roller skating and the flowrider available. Surfing does require guests to be at least 48 inches tall, however, you only have to be 42 inches tall to boogie board"

  3. Nobody asking for age or checking See PASS. IF He looks older and tall nobody will prevent him from riding as a second person in the car.

Ha. I figured I would have to fill out a waiver for him just like for ice skating on other ships and therefore they'd check. I did just write to the company in any event because the policy makes no sense to begin with. Maybe it will spark a change...

  4. No, 4 year olds are NOT allowed on the bumper cars as a passenger, 6 is the minimum age. And 4 is absolutely NOT too young for iFly, apparently the age is 3. She loved it though :D

That's ridiculous. Most other "rides" go by height/weight and not age. My son, whom will be five shortly, is almost four feet tall which is a normal height for a 6/7 year old. So they say he can't ride as a passenger but can use iFly as well as ice skate on the other ships??? That makes no sense.

    Edit:

Just for my own personal knowledge, I looked up a Disney bumper car ride restrictions. 7 years old to ride alone. Height, 36 inches to ride either as a passenger or driver. Seems to be logical.

  5. Anyone out there that booked fee dining venues with children that got charged way back when reservations opened able to get it resolved yet? We are on Q in two weeks and I'm not sure if I should call C&A or wait till I'm on board. If fixed, how did you do it and what did you get? On board credit or a refund on the credit card? Thanks.

  6. Thanks for the update. I never noticed the tags were different colors because, as much as I would like, B2B has not been possible. A very big thank you for not getting my car towed because I followed my own wrong headed opinion. Posters on CC live long and prosper. :)

I wonder what would happen if you got stuck in a foreign country because of illness and couldn't get back? Insult to injury. Just one more thing the worry about.

    Enjoy your future cruises.

I've not actually seen a car at Cape Liberty with two tags in the window. What I have seen is cars in the lot when I arrive early with a different color tag. Presumably they are from the cruise that is departing as I'm arriving. Making the logical leap that they alternate colors. I haven't sailed out of CL in a few years. I know they still used the booth, but maybe now they print the cards with the sail dates on them versus using preprinted colored cards?? Either way, I personally would just be honest with them. Seems a small price to pay then to find no vehicle to go home in after a great B2B cruise.

  7. The total price is set for the cruise length leaving port that day. You should only have to pay for your first cruise. Likely all that will change with a parking garage if they issue time stamped tickets.

You have to specify you will be doing two cruises. They have color coded parking cards and will tow a car there with an "outdated" pass in the window. They should be giving you two different passes upon arrival.

  8. I would agree that the reasoning is twofold. One due to flight restrictions and two due to the fact that if it got stuck and the ship had to leave port in an emergency, it could not due to the bridge clearance. While I would have liked to go up in port to see the skyline, etc, I also understand the reasoning and will just do it at another port.

  9. Thanks.

When viewing the webcam, am I correct in thinking that there is no multilevel parking lot under construction (as rendered in the original design)?

There will be a garage according to the last info we have. It won't be ready for November. The terminal is what was promised to be ready. The garage wasn't. It is going between the new terminal and the current used parking area. If you zoom you can see the area. Right now most of the dirt mounds are gone, but the long trailers are still there.

  10. I will also add that it is not at all uncommon for a ship to re-enter shipyard after sea trials to fix something. Not trying to focus on RCI, but one example that received great attention was Oasis, which had a pod problem on sea trials.

I'm pretty sure it was Freedom. It was documented on the Discovery Channel special. Which is sort of ironic since rumors are circulating that the Quantum build is being filmed by National Geographic for a special...

  11. Fleet mom reports

    Restricted munerivility

This on purpose and part of the sea trial or an issue during sea trials?

Edit: Just checked marine traffic and fleetmon....both report Q underway with engines....and it's going East and not South to the port so I'm guessing it was all part of the trial...
