Just pay a la cart and order them very little. Share your meals. Example at cagney’s you get a 16 oz rib eye or 16 oz prime rib. They is plenty to share . They could each order a side and with all the food you and husband get will be plenty .

Enjoyed your summary of events.
best part was the napping lady. Seriously!!! Who did she think she was. Nap in your freakin room lady. Yes, a lot of people use it for sleeping.
we board the Breakaway Sunday . This will be my 3rd time on Breakaway.
your cruise did have awful weathers looks like we will have decent weather.- 2

I have had the same PCC forever. I have her extension so when I call and they ask the extension I put it in. I have her email address and actually a direct phone number.

On last cruise try to go to guest service when this madness is going on. You scream and they still can not hear you. Walking thru that area is also madness. With all the complaints it seems they would change it up.
Speaking of cruise directors i spent 7 days on the ship and never even knew who ours was.
leaving in 10 days so sure it will be a repeat.

I went ahead and reworked the route we’d have to take to include Buc-ee’s and the one in Athens, AL would only add about 20 minutes to our driving time. Although at this point with all the hype it’s being given I’m wondering if we should just cancel the cruise and spend a week at Buc-ee’s instead.
I would drive 3 hours one way just to go to Buc ees. Yes there will be lots of people but it is so big you do t feel it. Also check out at two entrances and always goes fast. I can gut a Buc ees in less than 30 mins.

Midnight where? Louisiana or Florida?
Midnight in Miami which was 11:00 Louisiana time

Specific to NOLA. Even the people that checked in at stroke of midnight got 10:30. Last time it was 9:30
the last few weeks they started boarding at 11:00

In my opinion when they renamed those cabins and called them club balcony suites it confused many people. They renamed, gave a few little extras , charged more money. They dont come close to a real suite so it is not real clear to someone who has never sailed in both.

What happened?? Breakaway is suppose to be in Cozumel today. We have that same schedule next month.
-
For a cruise last January we did a name change (in December) no problems, no fees.
if you get an agent that tells you any different ask to speak to someone else. You are not cancelling!! You are simply changing names. BTW the insurance went straight to the new named person.

The people that David mentions just need to stay home.PERIOD!!! Convinced nothing would please them.

I have never ha a scooter but i dont believe you can cram it in the cabin. I can not imagine it being anywhere other than right as you enter the cabin and it will half block the bathroom .

We did that once. Do not remember the ship. Freaking lifeboat outside the window and someone working on it 24/7. Couldn’t sleep. Couldn’t leave curtain open because someone always out there,
on the plus side my husband is a coffee drinker and he was real near O’Sheenhans to get coffee. They let him serve himself.

I don't think they do this anymore. We didn't see any coffee carts on Deck 8 in the mornings, and there are no paper cups to be had. I tried to ask for a paper cup at the buffet and had to talk to 3 people before a manager agreed to get me one. He disappeared in the back and produced two paper cups - no lids. They make it as difficult as possible, but are incredibly polite at the same time.
we always bring a supply of those paper cups, sleeve, lid. Everyone will stop us and ask where we got the cup. My husband drinks coffee all day and no way can he walk around with a regular cup.

What ship were you on? The Deck 8 coffee/pastry offering is set up by the bar on both portside and starboard. We bring our own Yeti's to fill.
Well there is hope it will be done in Breakaway. I do remember it was fairly early AM

What insurance did you have? TIA
We always get he basic insurance with NCL. I called to cancel and never dreamed this emergency would be covered.

I know the cruise has already happened so curious what you did. Your wife should have been ble to file on the insurance. My grown son was admitted to the hospital with a brain bleed and we filed and was paid back every penny (minus cost of insurance. The hospital printed up the required form from NCL insurance and filled it out, doctor signed and my check was in the mail real fast.

I didn’t realize NCL still went to Guatemala. We went once and only shopped at the port. They told everyone not to go into town unless on excursion. We watched large groups trotting into town.
we had gotten to know two brother who went into town . One of them got bitten by a random dog. He said the dog just walked up and bit him. He had to go to a hospital and start rabies shots. We laughed and reminded him he was told not to go into town.- 1

We ate at Omar’s because we wanted seafood. It was excellent. Some friends went to Tipsy Tuna and had a great time but said service was slow. Tipsy Tuna is on the water so that is plus. There are lots of restaurants to chose from and the ferry boat people will give advice.
Thanks for the info

Sorry. I must have misunderstood. I thought someone said they took coffee makers out of the cabins and I read that as they wouldn't provide one.
Ask as soon as you see cabin Stewart . I did re they run out of coffee makers. I remember my daughter and son in law would go get coffee (in paper cups) from the set up on deck 8 (on outside) it was real good coffee.

Yes. I just did it this month. It was $29. We booked it at the marina. And it counted towards the $50 excursion credit. We only had 3 hrs. But someone on the ferry said they left in the morning and spent the day there. We walked around and had an excellent lunch. We didn’t think 3 hrs was enough time.
Where did you’ll eat? We would head out early.
Since it was only 29.00 each one person would b free.that is a deal.

I seem to remember in past years that NCL offered for a small fee a ferry to the mainland. I do not see that on the excursion list. Has anyone done that lately and if so what do you do once there.
-
For the most part you get slightly less with the platinum meal so if you have the dinning package I choose that for the restaurant I want more. We do use the platinum for hibachi. I always book that for first night (platinum meal)

We have booked Bliss for next year. App shows a Starbucks unlimited package.
anyone used this? Have a menu of Starbucks on board with prices??You would have to drink a lot of Starbucks in my opinion to make it worth it . We were told everyone in cabin has to have the plan. With so much good food I only had two Frappuccino’s in one 7 day cruise.
If I go to O’Sheehan’s at 4am…

What they advertise and what they do is two different things. Try going at 10:35 am and they are closed from 10:30-11:00 getting ready for lunch. They want even let you in. People are still in there finishing up breakfast.
