  1. We are spending 4 nights in Melbourne before flying to NZ for a cruise. I was looking at the Marriott Hotel, Docklands & it seems very nice. Just wondering if this area (Docklands) is an area where we can walk to restaurants etc. We have tours booked for 2 days but would love to be able to wander around & use public transport if we want to see something specific. Thanks, Denise

    Hi,

We stayed there in May prior to/after our South Pacific cruise. We will stay there in September prior to/after our Great Barrier Reef cruise. The hotel is older. It was clean and convenient to the market and restaurants.  We are seniors and we walked to the cruise terminal and back to the hotel afterwards. Location location location!! In May and upon our June return we could observe the VIVID Sydney lights on the roof.  We walked around and enjoyed VIVID even more.

Ok thanks, that's what I was most interested in. This is our first trip to Sydney & as seniors we too like to walk as much as possible too!

  3. Just wondering if the drinks at the Good Spirits bar are included in the Plus package? My DH really enjoyed this bar on our last Princess cruise but he got sick during the second half of the cruise & missed out. He's looking forward to visiting on the Grand for our 22 day cruise 😁

    Thanks, Denise

  4. Is EZair only available from US airports? I will be in Australia prior to a New Zealand cruise & when I tried to look for fares from Melbourne to Auckland there were none?

Rydges Sydney is in the Rocks area, so if you are there over the weekend, you will be very close to the lively Rocks Markets. The hotel is located among other lowrise buildings, so it has limited harbour views, but I imagine you're in Sydney to get out and about, so that may not matter 🙂

Yes we want to see as much as possible as we are there for 4 nights before our NZ cruise! We arrive on a Saturday so look forward to the Markets too!

Love Marks & Sparks! Visited M&S on a trip to Gibraltar about 15 years ago & purchased some of their yummy jam. It was confiscated from my carry-on in Madrid at the airport! The Spanish TSA people kept telling me it was a liquid. M&S make a very thick jam, not liguid! My husband said the guy probably took it home for his family! Not nice!

Eden is usually the first specialty restaurant to book and sell out pre cruise, which maybe why you can't reserve it for your cruise next month.

Yeah, I just made reservations for Eden for my March 2024 cruise, I didn't want to take any chances 😬
