  1. Just because I know how very important it is to some - I managed to score a pic of the bread puddings before they were dipped into.
  2. No worries - it will be for a bit. We’re good. Now, will they calm down enough for the tender tomorrow to Cap aux Meules? And if they can tender how rough a ride will it be? We’ll see if tomorrow ends up being a sea day or a port day. I fear it will be very cold though. VERY.. time will tell.
  3. And we’re starting to rock and roll. Nothing like being rocked to sleep in your bed 😉
  4. @FlorenceItaly in the effort of scientific research, I regret to report there are no piggy games on the ship. they do have wolves. Lots of games but I have it confirmed from the casino (not that I am there 😆 ) that it’s not on the ship. sorry.
  5. Deb and I unanimously agree that PEI was colder than Sydney. It was supposed to be 13 here but that Arctic wind decimated that forecast. No sail a way pics - at least not now. It’s too flipping cold to stand out there. I feel sorry for the poor guys working the Seaview Pool. We were told in Charlottetown we came at a good time. They can have 4 ships here at a time. 2 can dock and 2 tender. We are the 4th ship here and the largest so far. The big ones can’t get in here. Apparently that Arctic wind is going to follow us, Captain Van Eerten has warned and he is warning everyone of motion of the ocean once we are out of the islands and entering the strait (Northumberland strait I believe) to be very careful. Big motion of the ocean coming.
  6. The dummy mostly picked on Mike calling him a loser but there was a gentleman from the audience chosen for the card trick. I don’t think I have laughed so hard in a very long time.
  7. it was another cold day here in PEI. Colder than forecast. there is a nasty Arctic North wind that seems to be following us (or are we following it?) I’ll let you guess where we were yesterday. Big hint. Yup you got it. the home of the largest fiddle in the world - Sydney. That wind was enough to do you in - bitter, bitter. And we Canadians are used to cold. Apparently if you braved the wind and moved further into town it was ok. But we were enjoying where we are admiring the very talented crafts people here and decided on lunch. Deb and I shared. She ordered the mussels and I the fish and chips with an extra plated 😉 they were both excellent.
  8. they do indeed. I’ve asked for small plates for the one breakfast I like and most nights at dinner. That dish was very good. They both were.
  9. Our Halifax night we got daring in the MDR. Aww the first two items on the menu”. That’s what we had. Debbie tried the Bami Goreng And I the Hodge Podge. i forgot to ask for a small serving. I don’t know how anyone could eat everything on my plate. Both of them were very good. VERY good. I had the cheese plate (kept my roll from dinner) and Deb the apple pie.
  10. Got it. I’ll try to look more. Haven’t seen wolves yet either nor heard them.
  11. Our next day was pretty Halifax Nova Scotia. We were meeting Deb’s BIL & SIL for lunch. And what a lunch. Deb had the seafood chowder and declared it excellent even though there was no lobster in it 😉 Carol and I had the Reuben - best one I have ever tasted. Carol’s was gluten free so on a different bun (no idea why the pic is upside down - I played and can’t fix it here - will try on an edit. And Jim had goat cheese & red beet salad with lots of shrimp. All very good and actually not a bad price despite the location.
  12. I haven’t seen them but I haven’t bee at every machine in the casino 😉. Machines are pretty busy so hard to check them all but I’ll keep my eye out for you. Is it just pigs on the screen?
  13. You are correct. There were some bread things on some of the plates. We mostly tasted Italy, New Zealand & France. New Zealand was the winner for me and I told the steward to fill ‘er up.
  14. That evening we had dinner at the Canaletto with Rich @richwmn good company and good food what more can anyone ask for?
  15. Every table had a lovely floral display and kazu being kazu just had to take pics. 😉
  16. On our Portland day, we had to be back on board by 12:30. With a sailing that early ther was a nice invite to the 5* Mariners+ to attend the Round the World Wine Tasting. it’s always fun and a lot better IMO than the regular wine tastings. I don’y remember seeing these plates used before.
  17. Been having a few issues with internet. For whatever reason when we returned from port, we had to log back in and like a dummy, I didn’t think of that soon enough and figured internet was down. So, I’m doing some back racking. Portland night our entertainer was Mike Robinson from Halifax. My understanding is he was called in when one of the dancers had passport issues. I don’t know how to describe Mike except to say he is as funny as heck and a very talenteted ventriloquist. I was laughing so hard that only after did I fully comprehend the difficulty of what he was doing. If you have the chance to see him - go. He is very talented and very funny.
  18. Wonderful! I’ll see you next year. The roll call is up and rolling Who me? Warm up the bartenders ??! 😆
  19. hi Sue & Rick, nice to hear from you 🙂 can you see signatures? The cruises I am going on are the spread sheets in my signature - all on the Oosterdam - it seemed to have the best itineraries. This fall, next spring and a nice Nov. 2nd one with lots of great friends on boars - I got lured 😘. 😆
  20. The Baltics are always a fun itinerary with some great picturesque stops. we hope our CC friends enjoy every moment of their time in port and on board and of course, we wish them fair winds and smooth seas. Bon Voyage Nieuw Statendam - 13 day Jewels of the Baltic: doone - have a great girls’ cruise YourWorldWithBill Bon Voyage everyone !!!!!! Have a great cruise and a WONDERFUL time !!!!!
  21. If you read my initial post I ask people to post 3 weeks in advance. I also posted and bumped the thread for 4 weeks in a row that I was cruising and begged people to follow the guidelines. I go by the listing I have and warned I would not be updating but I will do what I can for you. I just can’t promise. If you want the job, it’s all yours. I am coming onto 11 years and would really appreciate some understanding and reading of my first post. Thanks I am enjoying the cruise and gave myself a pat on the back because I remembered to do the Bon Voyage today 😆 😉 Could you please confirm if this is 2024 or 2025 please? and how many days? And the name of the cruise please? thanks and kudos to you for your first solo cruise 👍 and
  22. There’s several tables. I think all the games are offered. I will double check for you tonight. Oops - now I have to go back to the casino (like that wasn’t going to happen anyways 😆) They are very sturdy. Now, unlike a cane, you can’t lean on them that much BUT they can help push you and still support you and if you hold them vertical they do give support if you are standing. the plus for me is that they make your back stay straight if you use them right whereas with a cane you tend to lean. Since my back diagnosis it’s key I keep it straight until we sort it out. the only thing I find is that the feet can move and I have to move them back. Mine come with different feet for sidewalks, snow, etc. You don’t want to use them with the cane type bottom. It doesn’t do what you need for walking. maybe for standing, but not for walking. Hope this helps?
  23. Thanks so much for this. Loved that little ship (or the EE as I called her). I think way over 1/2 my sailing days are on her. My biggest regret is it took me so long to chance a cruise on such an “old” ship. Best ship in the fleet always for me. 🙂
