  1. Sorry to hear. Hope they get their act together. I have a res 5 months from now.
  2. I wouldn’t bother booking Aqua if your partner won’t like Blu unless you’re booking for the spa. Save your money and book Concierge or Verandah. Concierge has better cabin locations. Blu breakfasts ARE great tho.
  3. Despite a limited kitchen and probably limited access to storerooms to accommodate substitutions, it seems in 2022 they should be prepared for vegan, dairy free, and gluten free options. It’s short sighted and frankly, old-school, to not have those menu choices. Reminds me of bullish chefs I’ve known.
  4. Got the email too. Was the 11.4 date of the naming ceremony already announced before this email for Beyond? We disembark that morning so will be gone before the fun starts.
  5. Security will keep bringing the crap back to you whether you want it or not. It’s like a reverse scavenger hunt.
  6. Just use the same precautions you would use at a public pool... It's not hard.
  7. I just flew in and out of LAX last week. It was pretty easy to get an Uber to and from the airport. If you have a lot of luggage get a larger Uber. It’s not something to stress over. I’d rather spend a little extra for the convenience than stressing over a shuttle service.
  8. Sounds like a fabulous cruise except for the comedy. My wife and I will be in the Retreat on Beyond for 9 nights in Oct/Nov and can’t wait. We reserved Eden twice, Fine Cut once and Le Voyage once. The other 5 nights we’ll bounce between Luminae and the main dining rooms. I agree with you regarding rationale for booking a suite. Larger cabin, Retreat deck, host, Retreat lounge and priority access all more important to us than Luminae. Thanks for your feedback and suggestions.
  9. With thousands of strangers on board you can’t know who has the psychological desire or need to steal. But you can certainly take steps to eliminate the opportunity for them to steal your stuff. Keep it in the room or out of sight in a bag, backpack, or under a shirt/towel. If you leave the pool area take your electronics with you. Or put an exploding red dye packet under your phone. Boom 💥
  10. On my October Beyond cruise, there is a new specialty dining experience available in addition to Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud ($75 pp) and Le Voyage with Wine Pairing ($125 pp. ) There's a link now to a Le Voyage sample menu, which I'll upload in the comments to this post. The new option is Chef's Table by Daniel Boulud for $139.00 per person. Description below. No sample menu provided yet. We booked the $75pp Le Voyage restaurant experience. Personally I would rather have a menu choice since our tastes are pretty specific. We didn't book the wine pairing because we have a Premium Beverage package and could pay extra if we want a special wine.
  11. I’ve read many posts by people who have said they love the exclusivity and service in Luminae but they weren’t crazy about the menu. Some have said they prefer Blu’s food and menu. Some prefer the MDR or recommend meals in the specialty restaurants. Others have been quite happy with the menu in Luminae. As a reader of these posts, booked in an E class Sky suite in October for 9 nights, I now have concerns based on the opinions you’ve all expressed. I’m looking forward to breakfast in Luminae but dinners, not so much. We like good and interesting foods but we also like basic too sometimes. There’s nothing wrong with a Caesar Salad, a decent steak, sautéed vegetables and roasted potatoes. (On one night) I don’t need a Black Forest balsamic glaze on my sliced filet or candied shallots on my Brussels sprouts. I just want delicious food, decent portions, and a server who is competent. What was your experience? Should I be excited or prebook 8 nights in specialty restaurants?
  12. I've searched the boards and I'm still unclear what "Le Grand Bistro" is, and how the space is utilized for Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon, Dinner and Late Night on Apex and Edge. I've read there will be a Le Grand Bistro on Beyond, which I'm sailing on in October Can someone walk me through it ? Thanks.
