  1. Good morning Dailyites from 58 going to 82 degree day. It is calm and the birds are singing. Yesterday was so windy dirt was flying out of our pots and over the patio. Graham welcome back and thank you for Father David's message. We had a nice day at Farmer's market and lunch with our friend. Allen was hoping to get his favorite (Texas) pecans and a guy makes bread and butter pickles Allen loves. Our lunch was catfish, redfish, and I had the crab leg/shrimp plate. Our funny waiter will don a crab suit when little ones come in and everyone gets a kick out of it. Our favorite spot to see bluebonnets: Beavers have a day. How cute! Not so cute when they damn up your creek and cause flooding in your gardens. Yes, they did. Reaching out to all on our care list. Thank you Vanessa for keeping copious notes. Prayers for Tana, Terry, DGS, Sandi's family and friends, for our soldiers, veterans, families torn apart by wars, all suffering from hunger and illness. God bless you all. (Allen got his Jardiance in the mail yesterday woohoo!)
  2. Above the firepit and to the right is where I'm hoping the shade will go. I'll have to move the Lantana from the planter because the frame is going across the middle of it.
  3. Good morning Dailyites from a windy 66 morning topping out to 80 degrees. Gosh it was so weird to see an earthquake in the east yesterday. Our prayers for our friends, family, and loved ones. Vanessa you should be put at the top of your cares list. You always place yourself last. Hoping Tana, Terry and household were able to get some restful sleep. Prayers for Sandi's list of family and friends, our soldiers, homeless veterans, those innocents in war torn countries, and those starving from lack of food. And Graham, you are a very sweet, caring gentleman and we enjoy seeing you on the Daily. Hugs to Pauline and your Sarah. An expensive day yesterday: We received a quote for getting a motorized shade for our patio. The sun sets right in an open area of the patio, but it's tricky. We have multi level walls, plus an iron planter that won't be moved. I'm hoping this guy knows what he's doing, as he promised it can work. $3000 At noon, the Garage maintenance company had to change out a spring and hinges, adjust the chains and lubes. $900 The original spring was a cheap install on building and couldn't pull the weight of the garage door. Now it's smooth going. Today we are taking a friend with us to Farmer's market and out to lunch. Tonight friends are coming for drinks. It should be a nice night to sit out and enjoy. My mom, who was a great cook and owned several restaurants around Algonquin would make fresh tuna, and would make a salad that was out of this world. (Remember this is the 60's) she always warned us not to get anything from a can because it could contain rust or contaminated by the metal. Poor Charlie Tuna!! No twinkies for me, thank you. Blessings to each of you today.
  4. Good morning Dailyites. A beautiful 59 going to 86 today. Sure wish I could beam up some warmth to Jacqui. Glancing forward to Monday's weather: cloudy skies in the morning followed by thunderstorms in the afternoon. 80% chance of rain. Our total eclipse is due at 1:35. Our bluebonnets are everywhere and it's wonderful to just stop and look at them for a bit and to say a few prayers while I'm enjoying the scenery. I'll post a few pictures I took yesterday from my phone. Prayers for Tana. (Darn, why are these aids always calling in sick!) God bless our Gold Star spouses. Birthday wishes for Edi, Bon Voyage to @lobsternight Prayers lifted for the innocents in war torn countries, our brave soldiers, those poor people who are starving and aid is not coming fast enough, our sick and homeless veterans. Prayers for our Daily-ites and their families. Have a blessed day, a great weekend, stay healthy and be kind!
  5. Forgot to mention, we were in Galway on a 2 week tour before heading to Adare for my niece's wedding. Loved Galway as I love Ireland and Scotland very much.
  6. Good morning Dailyites from a chilly 44 going to 85 degree day. Goodness, the dove cleaned out the bird feeders this morning! Where did they come from! Our bushes in the green belt are swaying and I love the cooing sounds. Terry, I've been praying for Tana non stop. She's at the top of my prayer book. I hope you were able to get some needed rest. Vanessa, I admire your strength going through the sleepless, painful nights, but continue to keep immaculate records for our fellow Daily-ites. Thank you. Debbie I'm not a leftovers cook, but might just try the ham recipe. I wonder if any of our Daily-ites might like to share their favorite leftovers recipes? And Debbie, take care of your eye. You only have 2 in this lifetime. Lenda, so relieved you and Steve are back in your Texas home! Dixie, I'm hoping Mike continues to show signs of improvement no matter how small. My sweet husband and your Daily friend was like a fart in a skillet last night, tossing and turning and asking for more ointment. I am thankful for only one or two sleepless nights compared to some of our friends here who go weeks without a comfortable night. Tonight is game night! Always look forward to being with these ladies. It should be beautiful on our back patio. Tomorrow morning I have the garage door guy come to give us a yearly tune up. Also have someone coming to see what can be done with the area across the fireplace. The sun sets there and it interrupts us with no shade, so I'm asking for some suggestions. Wishing everyone here a blessed day. Know you are loved.
  7. My favorite rainbow, Jan 30th, 2019, Lahaina, Hawaii
  8. Good morning Dailyites. Back from the dermatologist. Dr. took several biopsies to make sure what Allen has is severe eczema. Also gave him a Dupixent injection. Dr. said she will work on Tri Care approval for the drug after she gets the biopsy results back. I lifted prayers for all on our multiple lists. Added Taiwan and hope we hear from Daily friends on how their families are. Still praying for our Tana! Debbie get that eye checked! Just saw a rainbow a few days ago! It was pretty faint, but still. I would enjoy watching a fan dance. Reminds me a tad like the hula, only more feathery? Having a goodbye lunch for the summer as 2 of our group goes to California in a few days. Sending you blessings. Thanks for thinking of Allen.
  9. Just waiting for our turn in the dermatologist. Finally! Prayers for Allen he gets some relief! I'll check back and read more thoroughly, but I send my most heartfelt Prayers for Tana!
  10. Yikes! A dream cruise vacation has turned into a nightmare for eight passengers left stranded on the African island of São Tomé and Príncipe after their ship left without them because they were late to return from a private tour. The tourists — six from the U.S. and two from Australia — were aboard the Norwegian Dawn, a Norwegian cruise line ship, which departed from Cape Town, South Africa, on March 20, for a 21-day voyage up the coast of Africa set to end in Barcelona, Spain, on April 10.
  11. @aliaschief Bruce, I've been a Daily-ite since day 1. We have such a great supportive and friendly place here. I was at first surprised to see other folks posting on our HAL Daily about their other cruise experiences but now I enjoy seeing pictures and hearing of other cruise experiences.
  12. Good morning Daily-ites I'm waiting in Radiology for my mammogram appt. I just wanted to tell @summer slope your friends Mike and Sue are being prayed for. @smitty34877 prayers for Tana, I hope her cough improves. @StLouisCruisers Sandi your stocking is looking beautiful. I can't wait to see the finished product. Can't say I've ever loved a produce person, not a fan of PB or Jelly. I used to make a French toast casserole at our B and B, but it really was not healthy! Sending you prayers and blessings.
  13. @ger_77 Dear friend Gerry. I'm sorry to hear about Gord's death. I'm so thankful you are there for Ollie. What a true, everlasting friend you are.
  14. Rabbit, rabbit, white rabbit! Good morning Daily-ites from a 70 degree moving to 84 degree day. Poor Marilyn, what a sad life for such a beautiful woman. Jacqui @kazu great news on finding a nanny for Ivan. @cat shepard ugh on jury duty. Graham @grapau27 that meal looks so delicious! @ger_77 Gerry, thoughts for you and your friends. (By the way, Oliver seems fine, thanks for asking) I have no idea what's for dinner til I get to the market today. It will not be charcuterie. Prayers said for my friends and family, our Daily family, our soldiers, homeless veterans, Ukraine, Israel, and all suffering illness and pain. Wishing all a blessed Easter Monday.
  15. 53 day cruise on Rotterdam Nov-Dec-Jan. Pinnacle was not our favorite. We had multiple meals there and was not really impressed. I love, love the Morimoto lobster in MDR. Horrid Pinnacle Grill lobster tasted like salted cottage cheese: A second Pinnacle Grill lobster: 3rd Pinnacle Grill lobster and steak: Canneletto lobster: Morimoto lobsters:
  16. Good morning Dailyites, Blessings to each of you and your family on this beautiful Easter morning. Yesterday we went for pedicures, lunch out, and the market since HEB is closed on Easter Sunday. We are inviting friends over later for appetizers and drinks. Low key day. Prayers lifted for Vanessa, Terry, Tana, Gerry, Maurice, and thier friend Gord, Sandi's family and friends. Vanessa, you can remove Allen and our neighbors from the prayer list. I'll let everyone know how the dermatologist appt goes Wednesday. I'll have to check yesterday's Daily to see if Graham posted Father David's Easter message. Graham, please let him know how much we appreciate his sermons. We have had hummingbirds at our feeder for at least the past week. I mark the date I first see them, and hang feeders 2 weeks before that. Thank you to all who participate Daily. Happy bunsen burner and medieval day.
  17. Oh gosh Paul! I hope you feel better in the morning. With your busy schedule, you don't need a fall to hinder you!
  18. Good morning Daily-ites from a cloudy 64 moving up to 80 today. Gerry, so happy to hear no further pain this morning. Thinking of Gord. Vanessa, I have you in my prayer book. No one should have to endure that amount of pain. Thinking of Tana, Terry, Penni and Sandi's friends and family. Prayers for the innocents caught up in war, our soldiers, victims of terrible crimes. Allen's Jardiance was finally approved. Express Scripts wanted a doctor's signature acknowledging the possible negative effects of the drug. Oliver seems to be fine after swallowing/barfing up the placker yesterday. We took lots of rides on Elvis and he helped me wash Elvis when we got home. Debbie, the chicken recipe doesn't ring any bells for me today. I hope River is feeling well and will enjoy her Easter. I'll celebrate doctor's day, earth hour (wish it was earth hourS) and I guess folding laundry day too. Who in the world came up with today's drink?? Wishing you peace, blessings, and love on this Holy Saturday.
  19. @kazu Jacqui, we found a great dog sitter (in Montana) through our vet. Have you already tried that route? Oops, I got ahead of things already discussed. Sorry!
  20. Thank you Sandi for those kind words! Glad your DD got home safe. Gerry, wishing you get well real soon from the cart accident. You are amazing at reaching out to your friends so quickly and I know it's not the 1st time for you.
  21. Good morning Dailyites. Warming to 78 and cloudy for Georgetown. Poor Oliver was sick during the night. He threw up a whole placker. For those who don't know, it is a curved plastic dental pick. I haven't been this scared in a long time. He's stuck like glue to me, and I'm watching him like a hawk. Meanwhile I have texted my game night girls and warned them AGAIN not to leave these sitting anywhere! I'm not going anywhere today! Prayers out to so many this morning. I added 2 more to my book. One friend visited her mom back east this week. On the 2nd day, her mom was admitted to the hospital and is now brain dead and moved to hospice. Major stroke. The other friend is very sick with lung issues due to the illness. It never stops. Remember I told you about the cement truck that hit the school bus head on last week carrying pre K kids to the zoo, killing 2 and many injured? Well, he admitted yesterday he had been smoking marijuana the night before, only got 3 hours sleep before work, and took cocaine to keep him awake. He needs to be hung by his heels. I never realized I was making a sub salad. I use these ingredients mostly in the summer. Thanks Deb for the recipe. I use the red wine vinegar dressing. Virtual vacation day is celebrated quite a but at our house! Always dreaming about a BHB. Have a great weekend. Blessings and friendship to all on our Daily!
  22. Good morning Dailyites Today will be busy. I was able to get the car washed and gassed, but the line waiting for oil change was too long. So I'll try this morning. My girlfriend is borrowing my rug cleaner and I'll take it over and get her started. We have girls game night so thought it would be fun to have crab legs at our hapoy hour, since crab is on sale this week. Prayers being said for our Dixie. So thankful nothing was broken. Prayers for Vanessa, Tana, Sandi's family members, my prayer book, and all others on our hearts. Prayers for our troops and innocents in our war torn world. Roy, thank you for the maps. I enjoy studying them. Thinking of those who celebrate Easter week. Our 2 churches in Sun City have given out white crosses posted in our yards. Sunday morning they will turn the cross around and it says "He is risen" Ok, raise your hand if you celebrate National Hot Tub Appreciation. Red Neck Bob: Wishing you a blessed day. Be kind. Call a lonely friend. Xx
  23. @summer slope Dixie! Oh wow. I'm thankful all the tests were ok. What a scary situation. We have a very large golf cart population here and we don't hear of many accidents, thank goodness! Be well.
