  1. I have seen a number of tours of this type but none that leave the cruise port. We have 11 hours in port so more than enough time to see the sites.
  2. What are Vikings procedures for those 8nfected with Covid during these 30 day plus cruises?
  3. I had looked 8nto this excursions bit unfortunately the length would not provide is sufficient time to do it. We arrive at 12 pm and leave at 12 pm the next day. What were your hours of stay.
  4. Well Elise, your story makes me happy that I chose Viking for my 30 day cruise to Australia in February. Thee extra cost seems well worth it, because of fewer passengers, greater social distancing, and better support for those stricken with Covid. No doubt that American you found in the Laundry room has her head in the sand like a lot of people in this country.
  5. Most of what I have seen don't line up with the cruise port hours. I am talking about Darwin, Cairns, Townsville, and Whitsunday.
  6. My wife certainly was not there long. There clearly are other forces at work here other than gambling time.
  7. They got the wrong couple. We don't drink, go to specialty restaurants, and with covid go to casinos. About the only extra we pay for is wifi.
  8. What was the Covid situation like? And how did they handle it?
  9. Ironically enough my wife has gotten t2o different offers in 6 weeks. If she gambles more than 10 dollars an entire cruise it is a lot. She is on the lowest tier. So I have no idea how this thing works.
  10. About 6 weeks ago my wife and I got a free Veranda offer from the BCC. We ended up being offered any Veranda available from October to December 31. We ended up booking a family Veranda for the two of us. This cruise is leaving this Thursday. Imagine my surprise when last week we received another free offer for a Veranda. This offer had more restrictions on cabins but still my wife nd are were able to book a 10 day cruise leaving January 2 on a S class ship. The irony to all of this is that both offers came to my wife and she gambles under 10 dollars for an entire cruise. Does any one know what is going on with all of these offers?
  11. I know they have sushi and glass bottom boats. Are the subs much better for viewing the reef that the glass bottom boats?
  12. We get into Cairns around 8 and leave at 6. There are a few tours that leave from Spence street but I have no idea how far that is from the cruise port.
  13. We will be visiting the Great Barrier Reef area on a Viking Cruise in March. We would like to view the Great Barrier Reef from either a submersible or glass bottom boat. We will be makes stops in Cairns, Townsville, Whitt Sunday Islands, Thursday Island, and Darwin. We would also like recommended tours to see other sites while in this area. Thanks in advance.
  14. Frankly, I believe this upturn in inconsiderate and rude behavior has nothing to do with covid, but has everything to do with wide social changes occurring throughout the world. The cruiwhich se ship is simply a microcosm of the greater social climate we live. Never in my 70 years of living have I seen such a "it's all about me attitude" as so pervasive. Common courtesy is just about nil. I feel grateful that I was able to live in kinder times and travel during a time when I looked forward to meeting new and diverse people. But I fear that those times are no longer with us. I'll leave it to the academicians to explain why, but I know future historians will not look kindly upon these times.
  15. We are an older couple looking for the best Great Barrier Reef excursion from our ship without having to go into the water. We would also like to include the rain forrest as well. Thank you in advance.
  16. Unfortunately our landing has been moved from Brisbane to Mooloolaba. We will be in port for a long time which would allow extra time to travel to and from Brisbane. We would like to book a tour out of Mooloolaba to take us to and from the Steve Irwin Zoo. Any suggestions?
  17. We too are very interested in the animals of Australia, but the only tour we found spends an hour at the Sanctuary. What was the cost of your private tour and how long was it? We would be going the trip as a excursion from airship.
  18. Definitely not a scam. Booked 11 day cruise on Solstice in December, Paid taxes and port fees. Only problem now is I need to figure out hot to get medical insurance for cruise without needing cruise reimbursement. Book quickly as this is only from October to December and rooms are running out.
  19. I am extremely immune compromised and was wondering if Viking offers any kind of treatment on board if you contract Covid. Or do they simply quarantine you. Specifically, I was wondering if they have monoclonal antibodies, which is a common treatment for covid.
  20. We will be on the Viking Orion in February 2023. We would like a small group tour of Hobbitron. It can be out of Aukland or Tauranga/ Can someone please recommend a tour that will take us to and from the port that won't exceed our stay from about 10 am to 5 pm.
