  1. Bob and Lee,

I know what you mean about the prices. I have to cancel my two July cruises as they added July to the no single supplement. The worst part is I booked a Junior suite and now they changed the OBC for JS's. I hope to keep it, but will probably reduce it when I change cruise dates.

I do have the serenade cruise for Christmas and New Year's, but so far no one can go with me and of course no single supplement, so I May have to cancel that one. I got a pretty good deal for two people but it's too expensive for one.

The only two that I will definitely be going on will be the last majesty and one in late March of next year.

So sad as I really enjoy cruising on Royal.

This summer it looks like I might be taking to Carnival cruises for the first time. I can go on 2 seven night cruises in a balcony on Carnival for the same price as one 7 night cruise on Royal.

If I get to go on those cruises I'll let you know what they're like.

Are you not going to recommend the Daiquiry Shack? Come on..... Good memories.

Are you guys going on the last Majesty sailing next year???

I am. Would love to see you two!

    To OP:

I booked the dolphin excursion directly through dolphin encounters. It was totally awesome. I took my daughter when she graduated high school. (Long time ago). Many people stay and enjoy the beach area. The day we went the day wasn't that nice, so we headed back to the ship, since we are blessed to live in Florida and five blocks from the ocean.

The daiquiri shack I was referring to is to take bus number 10. All the buses are one block over from Senior Frogs. It cost a dollar 25 each way. The best daiquiris I have ever had. I always get strawberry watermelon.

  3. I disagree. This is poor service. Even if she was waiting for her husband, they should have come over every 5 to 10 minutes to see if she needed anything else. That they had done that, she would have informed them again she was starting without her husband. There is no excuse for being ignored for 20 minutes whether you are waiting on someone or not.

  4. In Galveston, I walked to the laundry mat and did clothes. I stopped by CVS to pick up soap. I used carry on luggage. I would've taken my car, but when I got to my car there was a flat.

I dealt with the flat after the second week.

  5. When if ever does Carnival have a good deal for solos? Is there a certain many days before sailing that it happens? I need a balcony for my dive gear, ship not super important. I need to go out of a florida port.

    Thanks.

  6. If you choose the Freedom, you must pay for a cabana on barefoot beach by emailing the concierge 3 weeks ahead of time. Ask for #1 or #2. Also do the expensive zip line. Sign up for the 2nd earliest time. I am terrified of heights and never do roller coasters and I absolutely loved it. It is worth doing one time, even though it cost around $95 a person.

Tell the concierge you want to be the first off the ship so you can put all your stuff in your cabana. Then head over to sign all the forms to do the zip line. This way you will have the whole rest of the day to spend on barefoot Beach. You can only do this if you are in a GS or higher.

If you're not going to do these two things, then I would do the one in Puerto Rico.

Save up the money to be in a GS or higher when you go on the oasis or the allure. It is worth it, unless you are diamond plus or pinnacle then you could get a JS or balcony. But even the people who are diamond plus now miss out on some of the amenities on the Allure or the oasis

I live about 20 miles south of Port Canaveral. If I were you I would come in a day early Rent-A-Car and then the morning you board take the car back to the rental place and they will take you to the pier. Or you can come in as early as possible and have a shuttle take you directly to the pier the day of the cruise.

The Oasis and the Allure are amazing ships. But if i can't stay in a GS or higher, I wouldn't do it again as they have a diminished the diamond plus benefits.

I have been on the freedom twice and love that ship.

    My two cents worth

  7. I already booked the serenade for Christmas 2015 and New Year's

It doesn't go to Bonaire but it goes to two islands I've never been to. 12 nights. I'll check out the Royal Princess. If it is less than the serenade I might cancel the serenade and jump on that one. $4600 is a lot of money for a D1 (aft of course).

    Gotta have my aft. Lol

I'm going on the vision again at the end of March.

I'm limited to Thanksgiving week, Christmas vacation, the third or fourth week in March, and then of course summer vacation.

I can't wait till I can retire and go during off peak times.

I would love to try the NCL Haven, but it is out of my price range and I don't have three or four friends that would pay over 2000 for seven nights. I would do it in a heartbeat and share a cabin to have all those perks. That price was for five people in July of this year.
