Thank you.  Have booked the stateroom as it was the only one remaining in Concierge or above.  I’m sure it will be fine, especially given the suite is probably aft of the forward elevators.

    Did you read my answer?

I know this question is very late but am booked in 729 on February 7, 2024.  I’ve been concerned this might be noisy from the elevators but it appears from your experience, that is not the case?  Thank you very much

Elevator or stairs never bother us.. we usually book 820, a PH suite. Go for it!

"Please note, the following will be sent direct to guests only, by traditional mail, replacing the current hard copy travel documentation pack...Luggage tags indicating deck number to attach to their belongings once they have arrived at the embarkation port."

I truncated a little bit of the original email but it seems you will still get the colored sticky tags.

Just reread the emails for future cruises. So it seems…. We will receive documents and luggage tags. No more regular luggage tags and cases and pouches. This is fine for me.

The color tags will be mailed to you before your trip - no change there.

Thanks… that’s not the way I read it. It seems that you will get these tags by email …and you print them…., fill in the information …..and staple it to your luggage. Was I wrong in my interpretation?

They are being dropped as I understand it. You will get the color tags for Regent and will get the SSS level tags....but I bet you could ask for some on board. They are not going to turn down a long time client asking for a set of $5 luggage tags.

How do you get the color tags? I assume you mean the tags used to identify your deck, name and suite number. I do not need any more luggage tags.

I was on the Mariner in November last year and I was v pleased w everything. Ok, the included wine wasn’t always the best but I always found something I liked to drink.
I posted a video of my category H suite on another thread yesterday in case it is of interest. I thought Mariner was better than the 3 Oceania ships I have sailed on, and I love Oceania.

We are sailing on Mariner in PH suite in December. We haven’t sailed on Marina for several years. Any comments?
Just booked Oceania Vista in PH suite for March. Any comments for us?

It’s been many years since we sailed on Oceania.
    Thanks

Whenever on Mariner--and this goes back many, many years--have always booked a Penthouse.  Reason:  more Suite interior "moving-around" room meeting our bottom line requirement--on any ship, on any cruise line over the past 25+ cruising years--of at-least 300 interior square feet.  [Aside: Regent's post-Mariner Voyager and Explorer ships addressed this situation by increasing the basic Suite footprint.]

Anyway, cannot recall any instance where a diminution in quality as to accoutrements was noted. Updates were subtle and really nothing causing us to comment that the Penthouse we just walked into was significantly different from the last one.  Certainly, nothing in a negative way. Vaguely recall a brighter paint style on interior walls; and a storage drawer added here and there.

"Old looking" is in the mind of the beholder.  Self and spouse certainly are looking older. We attempt not to act older.

I was really asking about carpet and furniture…clean, dirty, soiled, worn, threading??

We sailed Mariner in October.  Our PH had stained upholstery and carpet. They took the covers off the sofa and cleaned them but they were stained. The room was in need of a refresh.

It is so true that YMMV.

Also on Mariner last October.  Tours were pretty much the same as we had on Navigator in 2018.  No complaints as to tour quality, although we took only a few, having been there before, and done that.

Also had a Penthouse.  No issues there as to condition of Suite.

It is consistency and reliability of service standards that counts, which has kept us sailing the majority of time w/Regent on all ships except Splendor. COVID scuttled that March, 2020 sailing while we were at Regent's San Diego hotel.

Alas, our planned return to Crystal's Symphony was canceled not due to COVID, but that financial debacle.

Looking forward to Grandeur in 2024 and 2025.

    GOARMY!

Which suites did you have? We are booked on Mariner and are hoping they are in good shape!

Sheila, I’m not sure how you got this from Ms. Teegan’s response to you.  I hope you work it out to your satisfaction.  The whole incident may have started with the boat captain, but it seems Regent did not address what happened politely or in a timely manner.  Personnel issues won’t be shared with you but Regent should assure you that your experience was reviewed thoroughly and procedures and training put in place so it won’t be repeated.

Your posts on CC are usually so positive.  The humiliation must have left a pretty deep wound.  I hope you can work it out with Regent, or at least find a cruise line you like as much.

Thank you for your warm response!

Regent has reached out to me. Hopefully, this can be resolved and I will continue to make Regent a big part of our lives,.. I will not respond to this matter now.

    Hi Sheila,

There are a few of us that monitor posts on Cruise Critic, but really the best way to reach us is through email, to ensure nothing is missed.  I believe you are in communication with my colleague Sara, but I am happy to discuss your concerns on your recent cruise.  Please reach out to me via email at jteegen@rssc.com and we can discuss further.

    Regards,

Thank you for your response. I begin to feel from your answer that none of you really care if we leave Regent. Almost Platinum. I don’t understand  what Makai7 more special than us. I agree with Cruiseluv. I am sure you are really busy and I don’t want to add to your burden.

    Mr. and Mrs. Makai 7,

We certainly are not ready to say goodbye, and are willing to figure out how to reignite the spark that was once there. I was actually onboard with you and would love to talk through your issues and concerns. Please send me an email at jteegen@rssc.com so we can properly address everything and hopefully you can give us a second chance to prove our commitment to you!

Warm Regards (and a little heartache),

    Hi Jennefer

i am deeply disappointed that you never responded to my recent problems on Regent, which I have written about extensively on Cruise Critic these last two months.
I have been a loyal groupie on Regent since my sailing on Raddison Diamond December 1992.
Herb and I are seriously considering other luxury cruise lines because of the treatment I have received recently.
I guess we are not all that important to either Regent or you.

  12. Prime 7 is our favorite restaurant. Elegance, quiet and excellent choices.

Second is Compass Rose for great choices every night.
Then a tie between Pacific Rim and Chartruese  for its offerings. PR is a bit noisy. Chartruese has limited offerings for my taste. But love the atmosphere.

Seti Mara is last. Too noisy and a hit and miss in quality.

    my choices….

Away from this unfortunate event how was the rest of the cruise?  Food, wine, service etc.

    Sheila,

We're considering a Navigator cruise.  You mentioned that you liked the Navigator but the bathrooms were dated in another post.   How seriously are they dated?  I guess they weren't redone in recent refurbishments.

    thanks

    What a tough discussion…

Well.. we sailed on Navigator in November. We love that ship. It doesn’t have the bells and whistles of Explorer and Splendor. It doesn’t have Chartreuse and Pacific Rim.
However, it does have an old world comfort. Suites are very comfortable. Bathroom is not as nice. But it certainly is clean. We think it has the best service staff. It never feels crowded. Food is always wonderful. You never get lost on Navigator.
We book Navigator or any other Regent ship if the date and/or itinerary is right.

I am not unsympathetic -- as I said my husband has mobility issues and we travel despite the issues.  Not everything goes perfectly although I really try to avoid any surprises.

You cannot let the disappointment control you -- if you do, they win.  Things like this are bound to happen unfortunately.  Plan your next cruise and enjoy it.

Thank you…that’s exactly what we are doing!
