1. Apparently, after three years of travel restrictions, the covid vaccine requirement for foreign air arrivals in the US ends on 11th May.Nothing on the CDC website as yet but on the whitehouse website

  2. We did a late booking last October on a heavily discounted price and flight availability from our local airport which was unusual

Booked on the Tuesday and flew out on the Friday. On our many Marella cruises we,ve always selected our cabin but on that occassion we didn,t get the choice due to lateness of our booking so Marella allocated our cabin.Couldn,t have picked a better cabin myself

  3. Received an email yesterday on flight time changes for a 3rd time  but its suits us as its earlier outbound and earlier inbound

Initially outbound 10-50 am,then it changed to 8-45 am and now 7-45 am

Even though we are staying overnight at airport hotel it,ll be a Dark ‘O’ Clock rise for us and miss out on free breakfast but we,ll have access to the lounge at the airport

This is my first ever cruise...I'm a very proud Scot and also working class. Maybe I should be be looking at going to Millport rather than Marella 🤔🤣

You might be wishing you went to Millport after your cruise 😉😅

    Seriously,,sure you,ll have a whale of a time and as B says,it becomes addictive

Had an email a couple of weeks ago changing our flights in August to Titan. Think it's just a dry lease where TUI provide the crew still. Titan seem to be a reputable company so not concerned at all.

    Our isn,t

“Your flight will be operated by AlbaStar flight crew, and an on-board service will be delivered by AlbaStar cabin crew, ensuring the same high service standards as a TUI Airways flight.”

Our TUI flight last year was moved to a Canadian company for our Edinburgh to Palma flight.  No issues other than all the safety annoucements were in both languages which apparently is a legal requirement for all Canadian planes even when being chartered by a another line.

    Sunwings?

We have been with them a number of times

I am going on this cruise in May flying from Glasgow. Flying in to Melbourne Airport, according to google its approx 50 minutes transfer.

    Hi Scotstravellers

Would appreciate your thoughts positive or negative on your return as we are on the cruise/stay in July also from Glasgow

That's spooky our last cruise on D2 was our 54th and our worst, similar to you no hot water but we had power failure and could not use our JS balcony, they did however give us a £1,400 voucher, still haven't spent it🙄

I,ll PM you my address 😅

We didnt hesitate to book the America cruise as we had booked it a few years ago only for it to be pulled as they scrapped the Dream and pulled the Discovery in to cover its itineraries so once Marella brought it back we booked it

Direct  flight from Glasgow on a Sunday so it suits us fine

    Ps

Dont hesitate too long Nancy as it appears this seasons American cruises with Marella are a one off, well certainly for a year as not on their itineraries for 2024.Seem strange considering the  amount of money thrown at Melbourne Airport

Not been on the forum for a while but been reading reviews on other cruise forums. We would love to be back on Marella but been reading lots of negative reviews about staff shortages, slow service, poor food, boozy passengers and disappointing entertainment.  Has anyone who has been on any of the Marella ships recently experienced any of this?

The prices have really shot up since we last cruised with Marella. They seem to be more expensive now that some other similar cruise lines even if they do have an AI drinks package. We are not big drinkers and much preferred the old way where you had the choice to add the drinks package or not.

Always loved our Thomson / Marella cruises but something holding us back from booking. Mainly the price I think. Lots of great deals with some lines. Confused. com !

    Hi Nancy

    Hope your well

Nice to see you back even if it is for just a short while…Yep,I,m still here, like a rash you cant get rid off😅

Not recent but we were on Discovery last July.Great first 3 days and was shaping up to being another great cruise until Covid struck myself and Mrs JTS.Self isolation cabin for the rest of cruise. To make up for it we went away on Explorer in October and had a great time.It was a late, late booking so got it at a really great price. We booked it something like the Tuesday and flew out on the Friday

Still cruising with Marella as they,re still doing it for us so away on America cruise on Discovery in July then the Med on Voyager in October
