  1. This is copied from my edocs:

Mandatory Safety Briefing All guests must attend the mandatory safety briefing (also known as: Muster/Assembly Drill) and follow all health and safety instructions issued by the Captain as part of the mandatory safety announcements.  Upon embarkation, guests will have a window of several hours during which they must (a) review essential safety information and (b) report to their designated muster station. On certain vessels, guests are encouraged to use our patented eMuster™ system which allows for the review of essential safety information by viewing a safety video via our mobile app or stateroom myTV interactive systems (applicable ships).  Guests who do not complete the safety video portion of the muster requirements via eMuster™, or who are otherwise unable to review essential safety information upon embarkation, will be required to participate in a brief safety presentation upon arrival at their designated muster station. The mobile guest application is available for free from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store

So are you saying that your wife will get 14 points for her solo balcony and you will get 14 points for your solo balcony and they will add to each other's points total giving you both 28 points for this cruise?   I had no idea it worked that way if you were on the same cruise.

I asked same question, and it was explained to me in post #35

So we booked my retirement cruise last November in a Junior Suite. BAM a quick 28 points moving us to Platinum. Then several weeks ago on Symphony in a balcony for 16 points and BAM we are Emerald. So for this sailing my genius TA (Thank you KH) suggested going as solos. We got a great price for Linda in a Balcony and me across the hall in a double occupancy inside room. So after this cruise another 28 points and BAM we are Diamond and can play with the big boys.

Let me try to understand this.  If you each book solo, you each get double points and that total is added together with the points you already have.  For example, if we now have 325 points and would each book our own cabin for 7 nights, we would each get double points or 14 each with a total of 28 which would be added to the 325 we already have.  Is this right??

Do they still do the free drinks in the Diamond Lounge?  I think I read that they don't do that anymore.  The 4 drink voucher replaced it but if you want the drinks in the D lounge, you have to use your free drink voucher(s).

    Enquiring minds want to know

You are correct.  No more free happy hour drinks in the lounge.  Diamond gets 4 drinks, Diamond + get 5 and pinnacle gets 6.  Each day they do not accumulate.  Use them or lose them each day. You can use them through out the day at any bar, lounge or restaurant.

You may not be allowed to travel out of the country with less that 6 months left on your passport.

All cruises leave from US and return to same US home port. I will be taking our ID, birth certificates and marriage license in case there is a problem.  I will immediately be applying for our new passports on return in Feb. We know this is our fault, but even expedited, we would not have passports back in time.

We are not flying, so that will not be a problem.  Would only become problem if we had to get off ship because of illness or accident while in foreign port. Thanks for all comments and advice.

  6. We always cruise in February.  We do this to get away from the cold weather.

Usually do a b2b or 3.  Yes, the weather is cold when we leave but warms up in a day or 2.  I agree about CoCo Cay.  the water is chilly in ocean and just too cold in pool, ymmv.

  7. This is why I am not getting ours renewed until after we return close to the end of Feb. 2023.  We have cruises in Nov., Dec., and Feb. I know Royal recommends having 6 months before passport expires, they expire Mar. 2023. No way can we take the chance new passports will be back on time.  As a precaution, we are also taking our ID, birth certificates and marriage license.

We have cruised long enough to know better, but time just snuck up on us. First thing we will do when we return in Feb., is to send for new passports.

The last couple times we did check in, I got the statement that Royal recommends 6 months before expiration.

    Thank you.

Isn't it the same for all cruises?  Have to get out a certain distance...but normally it takes 2 hours...is it the same for Baltimore?

We have done the cruise out of Baltimore multiple times, and I believe it takes about 9-10 hours to get out of the bay. might be shorter, not really sure, just know when we go to bed casino is not open.

    Hello Everyone,

My crew will be sailing on the Enchantment on Feb. 3, 2023.  We are excited.  We sailed the Oasis in August.  We are looking forward to a smaller ship.

I have a few questions, and would appreciate any answers.

    1.  Is a Junior Suite considered as a "Suite" class?  Like for check-in, Concierge?  We are also Diamond Plus Members

    2.  We are sailing out of Baltimore.  Is the Casino closed the 1st day and the last "at Sea Day" on the cruise? YES

    3.  Anything we should know...please share.  We have been on the Grandeur a few times...so is it similar?  Yes, it is similar with an additional 75 foot that was added to the center of ship when they cut her in half. That means extra cabins were installed, but not extra seating in venues.

Since you have been on the Grandeur, you know how great the crew is. They are the same on the Enchantment.

We will also be on her in Feb. Maybe we will see you onboard.

The iHealth orange and white boxes have two tests in the box and the iHealth proctors don't require an unopened box, just unopened materials.  No codes on boxes, either.  US gov just reopened free test kit mailings although haven't gotten new set from post office yet so don't know if these will be iHealth.  Not sure they are still doing these - web site shows sold out.

Mine weren't the iHealth this time.  I got BinaxNOW that has 2 test in the box.  I don't think this type can  be proctored.

  11. Thanks for your report on what happens while in quarantine. Sorry you and Mike came down with the Covid.  At least the two of you had a great time on the previous cruise and your husband didn't test positive until the last days of this cruise.

Hope the two of you are feeling much better now that you are home with the fur babies. Speedy recovery.
