  1. Last night was the Azamazing Evening, so only one sommelier was working the whole ship. I will look again today. Our Butler is Osvy. He’s been very good so far.
  2. We did have a choice of spirits. It took some doing, but our Butler sourced some reposado tequila for DH. Nothing exotic, but decent.
  3. Please ask any questions and I’ll do my best to answer. Also, if food photos are wanted, let me know and I’ll try to take some before I start eating! Last night we had dinner at Aqualina. Nice table by the window. Not so nice electrical storm! DH and I both chose the branzino/sea bass. It was nicely prepared. DH had the included seafood risotto and I asked for extra roasted vegetables instead. Very tasty. For my fellow wine drinkers - after a discussion with the Sommelier, we decided to purchase a wine package rather than the Ultimate package. The Sommelier was very truthful that some of the listed wines by the glass were either in short supply or missing altogether. I really appreciate his candor and it’s good to know Azamara is not pushing the package. Now, if we were cocktail drinkers, the package would be a good choice.
  4. Living room. Very spacious, yet more storage. Bottom photo shows our carry-on luggage. No checked bags!! Also, champagne from the hotel director.
  5. Bedroom, some of the massive closets. Beautiful linens, comfy mattress.
  6. Two bathrooms! I think some of my photo’s aren’t showing up because I know I took one of the beautiful big shower. Hmmm.
  7. Suite photos. Balcony. Table seats 4, but will have to move things around to actually seat 4. There is also a chair with footstool but apparently I didn’t take a photo. Sigh.
  8. On board! Our suite is beautiful! I will post photos next. We have a bottle of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon and an Uruguayan Sauvignon Blanc. Waiting to see if our Butler can source a bottle of tequila reposado for DH. Bottled water, beer soda, etc. We have an Owners Suite which includes specialty dining. Aqualina tonight. Still working on captions. A quick word about embarkation - do not be in a hurry to arrive. Stick to your assigned time. The facilities are quite basic. Celebrity Infinity and Oceania Insignia boarding at the same time, so basically a mad house. No escalators and one tiny elevator. There are buses to take you to your ship. Very friendly port staff but they were a bit overwhelmed. Not complaining ever again about FLL or MIA!!
  9. Captioning the photos is challenging for me. Sorry. Here’s one more of the sculpture called “The Flower”. It used to open and close with sunrise and sunset, but it was wearing out, so now it only does that 4 times a year.
  10. Street Tango, Eclair, street scene of La Boca, mausoleum where Evita is buried, and the famous Evita balcony. IMG_0192.MOV
  11. Great day yesterday! Had a terrific tour guide through Signature Tours. There was also a driver, and a nice van. Took the advice of @trk_koasince we are staying at the Alvear Palace and had dinner last night at the Alvear Grill. It was an excellent meal, great steak for two, beautifully presented. I must remember to photograph before I start eating! Anyway, the restaurant is lovely, very comfortable with plenty of room between tables. A nice touch was a dulce de leche eclair, wrapped and tied with a bow for breakfast. Got a photo before diving in! Now it’s nearly time to repack and head for the port! Here are some photos from our stay in the “Paris of South America”.
  12. We had a great day today in Buenos Aires! First, we had a private tour with another couple. Here is the link. Our guide was Mariano and he was terrific! https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g312741-d19092848-Reviews-DePasseios-Buenos_Aires_Capital_Federal_District.html After a short rest, we joined a tour for 10 from Sherpa Tours for a foodie tour of the Palermo district. Lots of walking, but delicious food and wines, well organized. Took a taxi from the hotel, Uber back. Both were fine and inexpensive. Looking forward to our tour tomorrow and then ready for our cruise!
  13. Thanks to all for the excellent suggestions and cautions. The Alvear Palace is lovely - charming AND updated. Smart TV’s, lots of electrical outlets with provided converters, USB port, pretty good WiFi alongside crystal chandeliers and marble appointed bathroom. We were upgraded to a lovely suite (thanks Uncle AmEx). I should have taken a few photos before we strewed our stuff around. Will try tomorrow after housekeeping has been here. The steak restaurant looks lovely and I think we will try it tonight. We have been a bit concerned about walking around on our own so we will be sticking to guided tours. We start tomorrow morning with a half day city tour to get the highlights, followed by a food tour of the Palermo district tomorrow evening. Our plan for this afternoon was to have been a tour of the Recoleta cemetery; best laid plans, etc. We had not one but two flight delays due to mechanical issues (only two flights, so you know how our day was 😕) and didn’t arrive at the hotel until nearly 1:00 pm. (Should have arrived by 9:30 am.) I won’t bore you with the gory details, but we are exhausted and recovering from the stress. Very happy we booked an extra, extra day!
  14. Travel Day! At ORD in the lovely Flagship Lounge. This is the most quiet I have ever seen this airport. Lounge is nearly empty. More for me!
  15. We considered adding the Rio-Lisbon leg, but by the time we made up our minds, it was sold out.
  16. Here’s the link to my “Live from” on Azamara Pursuit. There aren’t very many live froms on the Azamara board, so I hope I’m not breaking protocol. I always learn so much from my fellow cruisers and I like to give back, so unless I get shut down, I will post often once we board. Okay, so I couldn’t find the link I copied - need Jim’s excellent tech help again 🤣. Here’s the post. “My first Azamara “live from”, so excited to board Saturday!! DH and I fly tomorrow from Chicago to Buenos Aires to begin our adventure. Staying at the Alvear Palace hotel, tours booked, all packed - CARRY ON only, woo hoo! So happy to have self-laundry on board. We are planning to bring some Argentinian wines on board, but I hear the wine selection has improved on Pursuit. We will decide if the ultimate package is worthwhile once we get a look at the ever elusive wine list. I will keep you posted. So happy and grateful to be able to take this cruise! More later… Erin”

  18. Will do tomorrow. We fly to Buenos Aires Tuesday, board Pursuit Saturday, 2/25. We liked the smaller Regent Voyager very much. Looking forward to Azamara again and glad we qualified for the loyalty status reciprocation.
  19. Yippee! I will be over on the Azamara board doing a live from 2/25-3/7, but will check in here to keep up with your travels. Happy sailing! Erin
  20. In December the lunch menu included the Luminae burger with fries, Caesar salad with chicken, shrimp cocktail and a Turkey wrap of some kind. I wanted a different salad dressing and it was fetched for me. Very nice sliders passed by crew around 11:30. As Jim said, the app has useful info. Shady spots across from the bar with small tables.
  21. I think you will not notice any “back of the bus” attitude. For example, no one can book specialty restaurants until on board and you are able to book excursions as soon as they are available. You likely will miss any discounts such as for internet. There is self laundry on board unlike Celebrity. Sounds like a great cruise - Enjoy!
