  1. Good early early morning for me, I was up and out of bed at 4AM. Sleep was alluding me. I will need to get up at 3:30 AM tomorrow so go to bed extra early tonight. I should be tired. I went through my checked and carry on luggage to see what I could take out and found very little. I packed a lot of disposable stuff so I will have room to bring back souvenirs. Due to my OCD trip planning I have two plane reservations with miles and need to cancel one. Of course, I can’t make up my mind on which one! I will feel much better once I make it to San Diego. it seems odd not to be traveling without a broken toe or hand surgery rehab! I hope we all make it through the cruise with no mishaps. Prayers for all in need. Have a great day.
  2. My first TA would only send their agency invoice and I had to ask for the cruise line invoice every time. My new TA sends both which is nice. I like to have the cruise line invoice in case there are any questions while on board.
  3. Good morning, It has been cold here and I have to stop myself from packing warm clothes. I keep telling myself I will be sweating and complaining about the heat in a few weeks. Jacqui, I had a dog who always had to have something in her mouth when greeting people. She would panic and pick up anything. It was comical what she came up with. I have a Christmas picture of Murphy. She is making slow strides. She is one lucky baby to have such dedicated parents. Prayers for Debbie and her surgery. Have a great day!
  4. Rich I hope your knee feels ok this morning. The next day is always a little worse.
  5. Good earlier morning, I was up before 6 today. It is reminding me of when I worked and was up at 5:30 everyday. There will be a nap for sure today. Today’s quote was sad for me. It was a tough holiday and it hit me this morning when reading it. I guess I am a little melancholy over doing this long cruise by myself. DS is coming over to do a few things to help me get the house ready. I have been sending things home with him for Molly so that Saturday the only thing to bring over is her. She has been glued to me and even laid in my feet when I was working at the counter yesterday. She knows! My DGS has been attending Kids Strong this week. It is full of both physical and mental challenges and he loves it. He got the coaches award yesterday and was thrilled. Prayers for our care list and have a great day.
  6. Good. Opening, I am getting up earlier each day. I need to be moving it back or I will be out of bed at 3AM in San Diego. We had a dusting of snow yesterday. It is just enough to make it slippery. I have a couple of appointments today ( Molly grooming and a haircut for me). Hopefully in a couple of hours the roads will be better. Today’s quote has a bit of truth in it that you can choose who hurts you. It is easier said than done as often times the ones closes to us do the hurting. I am not good at it and keep setting myself up. Christmas is all out away and I went over my itinerary again yesterday to see if I made any mistakes. I have a nice mix of things to see and several ports with nothing which is ok. I have a lot of OBC so if want to add something I can. Prayers for those in need and cruisers have fun.
  7. Wow, Pauline has worked hard these past few days. You are very lucky.
  8. Good chilly morning, Yesterday was tough for me. I went to dinner with a friend who lost her son last year and we had a good cry. We went to the restaurant where he worked for many years and they had a plaque up in his honor. Baby Murphy faced timed with her cousins as they opened presents. My DSIL said Murphy smiled and enjoyed the activity. I sure hope the new year brings many blessings to that family. Roy, I am sorry to hear about your latest challenge. That darn cancer is smart and works around all the treatments we have. Luckily prostrate cancer is slow growing and we can play their game. Home ownership is a mixed blessing. I love my new house but you have to tinker with it. I do not like today’s quote. It is a bit of a downer. I am glad we heard from @HAL Sailer they have been on my mind. Prayers for the both of them. DS will be over this morning to help deconstruct Christmas. It should not take long. Then it is full speed ahead on house prep for my long absence. Prayers and well wishes for all. Have a great day.
  9. I loved my induction cook top. I would buy one again in a heartbeat.
  10. Thank you for your review. You can use Pro Tip all you want. I was not put off by the phrase.
  11. Merry Christmas, I just got back from DS after spending the night and watching the grands open gifts. I brought Molly with me and she was very upset the whole time. She knows things are a brewing. Happy birthday @ger_77 this is a tough day for a birthday. Birthdays around a holiday are always a challenge. DS will come over tomorrow and help take down the few decorations I put up. I have a few appointments this week and need to finalize packing. I asked DS and DDIL how they felt about my going on such a long cruise. They said they were excited and felt good I was on a cruise for safety reasons. Then they listed off the vacations they would not feel good about! I did ask. I see a nap today before I go out to dinner with a friend. Everyone have a great day.
  12. Happy Christmas Eve, I am at my favorite breakfast place and I am the only one here. I am getting excellent service! Happy birthday to your niece Graham. Nieces are pretty special and mine have been a godsend to me. I plan on a lazy day and then to my DS for dinner and didn’t the night do I can see the kids Christmas morning. Everyone have a blessed day!
  13. How awful Sandi, I am glad she was not harmed physically but those emotional hurts will be with her for a longtime.
  14. @Cruzin Terri my DH used to want me to read the test results for him. Unfortunately I knew what they meant. I found something positive like “ the blank was not as bad as I thought it would be” until we heard officially from his oncologist. I learned to compartmentalize. It was a long road and I could not ride the ups and downs. He chose to live each day to the fullest and I went along for that ride.
  15. Good morning, I plan on a quiet day. The grands left at 7 pm last night. It was a long but glorious day. I expect a call sometime this afternoon requesting a sleepover. Of course I will say yes. Happy birthday Paul. I am happy to see the cruising list so long. It makes me get excited for my travels. I will pray that everyone will be safe on the road and in the air for their holiday travels. Hopefully there will not be a repeat of last year’s mess! Molly seems to be turning her nose up at her usual food. She does this from time to time and I will need to mix in some wet food. She may be doing this in protest to my leaving. Sandy that stocking is unbelievable. I do not have the patience or the skill! Have a great day!
  16. Good early morning for me, It will be a busy day for me. My 3 yo DGD and I are headed to the nail salon and then DGS and DS will join us to see a movie. I will bring the grands back to my house to bake some cookies for Santa while my DDIL works and DS runs some errands. My DDIL is so bummed she is busy at work and can’t join in the fun. Safe travels for those embarking and disembarking on their latest adventures. I am sending good thoughts for those who are feeling blue with the coming holidays. It is hard when you are missing loved ones. Prayers for those on our care list and everyone have a great day!
  17. Have a great time and I will see you in a couple of weeks!
  18. Good morning, Thank you Jacqui for stepping in to keep this going. I too have had periods of humbug and the blues. It is better than last year which is moving in the right direction. I have an update on Murphy. She continues to improve but has a couple of challenges. She had a gtube placed and was scoped to find one of her vocal cords is paralyzed. They feel it will improve but nothing by mouth for now. They found that the bases of her lungs were “floppy” DSIL words so will keep her on CPAP for now. Good news is that she is interacting more by smiling and regaining her strength through her various therapies. DSIL was there in the hospital with her last week while her parents had to work. They want someone in the room with her at all times. I got my boarding time! It is awful early at 10:40. It’s hard to believe they will be ready that early. I am waiting for DGS to wake up. He told me he is staying until Christmas Eve and then I am sleeping at his house. I don’t know how we will be apart for so long. He asked me why I wanted to go to Australia with it being so far away. That boy has my heart for sure. Yes, the Daily meet up on the GA is on January 5th at 2pm in the crows nest. I put it on my phone calendar. Have a great day.
  19. Good morning, I better post now or not at all. DGS will be here in a few and the party begins. He wanted to have a sleep over last night and his parents said no. Thank goodness they took care of that. We are off to the movies today. I have a few Xmas projects for him to help pass the time. @JazzyV I am sorry to hear that the doctor is out of network. I love being on Medicare where nothing is out of network. My work insurance was getting so difficult My husband went all over the country for his cancer care with no problem. I pay extra for a supplement rather than advantage plan but worth it for me. I am a control freak when it comes to medical care. Must be the doctor in me. Hopefully you can get it worked out soon. I will try to get an update on Murphy. I always worry when I don’t hear from them. Maybe they are just busy. Have a great day everyone.
  20. I had a spa verandah on the NS in May. The balcony is very narrow but you can sit on it. I loved the location and used the club orange upgrade to offset the cost otherwise I would not have paid the extra price. I had a teak wood shower insert , no vitamin water and an upgraded bath robe. I really liked the location close to the thermal spa and the upper pool deck.
  21. Good morning, I was happy to see my luggage made it to California. Now the wait to see when it gets to San Diego. It is really getting close. I loved the hard ribbon candy, my favorite was the clove flavored. It was orange in color My sibs did not like it so I had plenty. All my wrapping is done so no chance DGS can stumble over any unwrapped presents while I am watching him. Pennie, I hope you get some relief from your injection before your cruise. Prayers that the neurosurgeon can offer some relief for Vanessa. Prayers for our care list. Have a great day.
