I think my original question got lost in the shuffle here. So between the hours of 5-7 pm, Elite members can get free drinks from most bars around the ship? Just by using your SeaPass?
Sorry, it's been some time since we've sailed Celebrity.

Unless they read this forum.
In 2019 a poster told about being able to buy CBD oil with THC in California and that she used it every night when on board. The individual was disembarked at the first port as THC violates Federal law.
There's the difference though, bringing wine onto a cruise ship doesn't violate Federal law.

You are allowed one or 2 bottles each. Put one or 2 in your carry on and one or 2 in your checked luggage.
Never thought to put one in carry on and one in checked bag. The Alcohol Policy says one 750 ml bottle per guest.

Only if you are the first one there.
The sand is like glacial silt. Once you stir it up the water quickly becomes very murky. Once the crowd arrives you cannot see your feet in knee deep water.
South beach seems a little better then Chill beach though.
Thanks for the info!

Smooth sand bottom for the most part... there were some dark patches as you get deeper and I think those were sea grass but it was small tiny patches... the majority of the beach area was smooth sandy bottom. I had water shoes on but as the day progressed I took them off and it was fine.
Great, thanks for the info!

We haven't experienced the Chill Island day beds but we absolutely loved South Beach. It is 1 row of beds and I don't think it gets too crowded.
What's the water like over in South Beach? Smooth sand bottom, any sea grass?

That water looks great

Is ZOOM worth the price? Can you do Facetime or Google Duo? Would like to keep in touch with the grandkids.
I believe you need the Surf + Stream package to be able to stream video.

Thanks for the info everyone! Didn't know you could go to the Shore Ex desk and pick one, if possible. Will definitely try that on our next sailing.
-
This is more of a question about the South Beach beds, but how did you like them? Nice area of beach/water? Last time we were at Coco Cay we noticed a lot of sea grass by Chill Island, but have never been to the South Beach area. Just booked one for a January sailing. Didn't know you could get things delivered to the beach beds.

There are other companies, too, that will let you use your freebie (government-supplied) home test while they watch you on video. Just google "at home covid test for travel" and you'll find companies.
Thank you for this. Just found On Point testing and oh my is it cheaper!

They've suggested that those with underlying, serious health conditions should avoid traveling.
Nothing really shocking here.

What i said is fact? The survival rate of the 720 people who have been through it fully, 72.7% is the survival rate.
If your calculating the survival rate of cancer, you dont include the people who still have it! You base it on the people who have been through it and either survived or died... tell me in wrong??? So you can take back your patronising 'lol'
I think you and I are getting mixed up with survival rate, versus percentage of deaths. I'm correct in stating that 4.25% of the people who contracted it have died, but you are also correct in stating that in the 720 cases of people who no longer have the virus, 72.7% of the people survived it. You and I are explaining two different sides of the same coin, I believe.
Didn't mean to sound patronising, it's 3:40 am here and I've been up for a while.

Thats the percentage of all that have got it. 523 is the people who have recovered from it..
So 4626 cases, 720 concluded cases so 3906 are still ill and could still die.
Of the 720 concluded cases, 523 survived 197 died. So 27.3% of the people died of it and 72.7% of people survived it
That's not how percentages work, lol.
4626 have contracted the virus. 197 have passed away from it. So 4.25% have passed away from it.
You're using this "concluded case" term and that's not a thing.

the death rate in Italy is scary.
Total deaths is at 197, total recovered is at 523.
That means of concluded cases 27.3% death rate!
and i would say Italys figures are probably the most trust worthy of all the highly effected countries
That means as of now, about a third of people are not making it though it alive?
Where did you get that statistic? The BBC lists Italy's deaths at 4.25%
197 out of 4626 is 4.25%

We are on the 3/22 sailing. Live in CT, so no planes involved. Unless they cancel it, I'm going.

Us too. No intention of canceling this cruise. I'm overloading myself with vitamins, and going to take some extra precautions while onboard. We need this vacation, lol.

Good to hear! Keep the ship clean for us.

I also suspect that they may adjust the cancellation schedule and charges, and that could be the reason for the webcast.

We are sailing with you and are not overly concerned. We are taking hand sanitizer, Lisol wipes, etc., and are planning to wash, wash, wash our hands. We will also avoid (usually do anyway) the Windjammer as well as the elevators.
Are you on the 3/22 Anthem sailing?

Yes.
Likely.
Thanks!

Do the wow bands work to get on and off ship at port calls?
No they do not. You still need your Sea Pass card for that.
-
I'm also interested in using the Wow bands on my upcoming Anthem sailing. I'm in a regular balcony room, so I'd assume that we need to go to Bolero's on Embarkation Day to purchase them? And do we get a choice of colors?
Thanks!

I could be wrong, but the change in departure time could have to do with the tides.
Anthem needs all the clearance she can get to fit under the Verrazzano Narrows Bridge.
😊
Didn’t even think of that!

Let’s also not forget that the CDC has been working with RCI on this. I don’t think the CDC would have allowed disembarkation if there was reason to be alarmed.
